In this linear construct, you go to work for a week and at week’s end you are compensated for that work. The next week you do more work and are compensated for that work, and so on. This is a common agreement between employers and employees in many countries, including the United States. The purpose of this book is to challenge that construct. The notion is that one could work on a project for a certain amount of time but the product of that project could pay dividends for a longer term.
