The Moonshot Game: Adventures of an Indian Venture Capitalist

Rahul Chandra - 2019
The second wave came in 2006 when home-grown VCs raised large amounts of capital and funded products and services companies for Indian consumers. This is a gripping behind-the-scenes story of a VC's journey, right from the beginning of the second start-up revolution in India in 2006 until the end of the funding frenzy in 2016. A story about how global conditions, local consumers, founder ambition and good old greed shaped the start-up story in India.Rahul Chandra is the co-founder of Helion Ventures, and in this candid memoir he tells us about his journey building one of India's oldest VC firms. In a remarkably gripping account, he recounts his adventures in India's hyper-funded start-up ecosystem. The Moonshot Game gives readers an insight into the secret world of a VC, with unguarded stories involving large bets and big mistakes, and tales of how one juggles several investments at the same time.Rahul shows why being a VC is a constant journey of ups and downs, why building value is a long-term business, and why no amount of failure can be an excuse to lose optimism in the power of entrepreneurship.

Forex Trading: The Basics Explained in Simple Terms (Bonus System incl. videos) (Forex, Forex for Beginners, Make Money Online, Currency Trading, Foreign ... Trading Strategies, Day Trading Book 1)

Jim Brown - 2015
His knowledge of currency trading extends over a 14 year period and has evolved from the old fashioned manual charting when he first started in 2002, to trading on multiple screens and entering the arena of automated trading. During this time, he has developed and shared many trading systems for free, and assisted many new traders through various blogs and forum participation. This book is for those of you who are just starting to consider trading Forex but don’t know where to start, given the abundance of information on the internet. It is a good first book to read, to gain an understanding of the very basics. As an added Bonus, Jim offers one of his Trading Systems, as well as the indicators without any further on-costs. You can check out his YouTube vids and chat with him on Facebook - he's an approachable guy who is passionate about trading. Here Is an outline of what is included:   What is Forex? Advantages of Trading Forex When the Forex market is open Forex pairs Where we trade Forex Choosing a Broker Important information for US based traders Lot size and equivalent pip value Information on risk News and fundamental analysis Technical analysis Risk-reward ratio Types of orders How many pips is enough Trading psychology Day trading or longer term trading? Keeping a journal or diary Jim's other books MT4 High Probability Forex Trading Method Trading Forex with Divergence on MT4 These two use the same Method, however Jim expands on the use of divergence. What people are saying... I was a bit skeptical prior to ordering this as it is only 72 pages in length. However the author covered concepts and principles in very direct and easy to understand manner. I have read other authors that would have no doubt used three times the verbiage and none of the clarity possessed by Jim Brown. All in all I am very pleased with my purchase. - Darrell R Allen Buy "Forex for Dummies" or something similar for a detailed background of Forex, then buy this book. It is well written and to the point. I recently paid $40 for a system which did not do much but generate daily emails promoting many more expensive systems. Jim's free system is easy to implement and follow, and it works. Also, there is no upselling. I felt that he wants people to succeed. I also bought his other book, which includes another free system.

Applied Value Investing: The Practical Application of Benjamin Graham and Warren Buffett's Valuation Principles to Acquisitions, Catastrophe Pricing and Business Execution

Joseph Calandro Jr. - 2009
Most of these books present different interpretations of value investing and are generally introductory based. Until now, there has not been an advanced hands-on guide for investors and executives who may want to apply the powerful value investing discipline outside of stocks and bonds.Applied Value Investing takes the same time-proven approach Graham introduced with David Dodd in their 1934 masterpiece, Security Analysis, and extends it in a variety of unique and practical ways--including mergers and acquisitions, alternative investments, and financial strategy. This in-depth guide shows financially sophisticated readers how to use value investing in a macroinvesting framework and how to apply it to the emerging area of super catastrophe valuation. It illustrates how to put value investing to use with case studies on:Eddie Lampert's acquisition of SearsWarren Buffett's acquisitions of GEICO and General Reinsurance CorporationThe recent "new economy" boom and bust, and its aftermathThe underwriting of the Pepsi Play for a Billion sweepstakesApplied Value Investing also demonstrates how to incorporate the cornerstones of valuation into an integrated business framework that can be used to assess and manage a franchise (or a firm operating with a sustainable competitive advantage). In addition to its cutting-edge applications of value investing principles, Applied Value Investing sets itself apart by drawing on material published in leading academic journals to form the foundation of its presentation. However, value investing is inherently practical, and this comprehensive resource provides helpful guidance for successfully implementing value investing strategies in the real world. To profit like the masters you have to think like them. Applied Value Investing can open new doors to value creating opportunities.
