With her characteristic no-nonsense style and high-voltage storytelling, she exposes and explodes the five myths about healing, explains the cultural and individual contexts in which people become physically and spiritually ill and invested in woundology, and teaches new methods of working with the challenges that the seven energy centers embody. To help you get and stay on the path to wellness, Dr. Myss provides rituals and prayers for gaining a symbolic perspective on your life issues; for bolstering your personal power; and for connecting with a universal divine energy. Dr. Myss's breakthrough views on energy medicine and her active approach to healing life issues and physical illness will help you overcome the mental blocks that keep you from becoming well.

Breaking the Vicious Cycle: Intestinal Health Through Diet
Elaine Gottschall - 1994
Most intestinal microbes require carbohydrates for energy. The Specific Carbohydrate Diet works by severely limiting the availability of carbohydrates to intestinal microbes. When carbohydrates are not digested, they are not absorbed. They remain in the intestinal tract, thus encouraging microbes to multiply by providing food for them. This can lead to the formation of acids and toxins which can injure the small intestine.Once bacteria multiply within the small intestine, they can destroy the enzymes on the intestinal cell surface, preventing carbohydrate digestion and absorption. At this point, production of excessive mucus may be triggered as the intestinal tract attempts to "lubricate" itself against the irritation caused by the toxins, acids, and the presence of incompletely digested and unabsorbed carbohydrates. The diet is based on the principle that specifically selected carbohydrates, requiring minimal digestion, are well absorbed leaving virtually nothing for intestinal microbes to feed on. As the microbes decrease due to lack of food, their harmful by-products also diminish. No longer needing protection, the mucus producing cells stop producing excessive mucus and carbohydrate digestion is improved. The Specific Carbohydrate Diet corrects malabsorption, allowing nutrients to enter the bloodstream and be made available to the cells of the body, thereby strengthening the immune system's ability to fight. Further debilitation is prevented, weight can return to normal, and ultimately there is a return to health.

Wellness Against All Odds
Sherry A. Rogers - 1994
Rogers, M.D. It contains the ultimate healing plan that people have successfully used to beat cancer when they were given 2 weeks, some even 2 days to live by some of the top medical centers. These people have exhausted all that medicine has to offer, including surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and bone marrow transplants. Some had even been macrobiotic failures. And one of the most unbelievable things is that the plan cost practically nothing to implement and most of it can be done at home with non-prescription items. Of course, in keeping with the other works and going far beyond, this contains the mechanisms of how these principles heal and is complete with the scientific references for physicians. Did you know, for example, that there are vitamins that actually cure some cancers, and over 50 papers in the best medical journals to prove it? Likewise, did you know that there are non-prescription enzymes that dissolve cancer, arteriosclerotic plaque, and auto-antibodies like lupus and rheumatoid? Did you know that there is a simple inexpensive, but highly effective way to detoxify the body at home to stop the toxic side effects of chemotherapy within minutes? Did you know that this procedure can also reduce chemical sensitivity reactions (from accidental chemical exposures) from 4 days to 20 minutes? Did you know that there are many hidden causes for "undiagnosable" symptoms that are never looked for, because it is easier and quicker to prescribe a pill than find (and fix) the cause?

Curing heart disease, however would add fourteen years.* Only five percent of people over the age of sixty-five are in nursing homes* No human has lived--or probably can live--past 120 years.Gracefully written, clearly organized, and packed with essential facts and statistics, How and Why We Age is a landmark study of the aging process for readers of all ages."Written in clear, nontechnical language, it is an excellent introduction to the scientific and demographic literature on this multifaceted subject."--Nature

The Uncommon Touch
Tom Harpur - 1994
Most world religions practised healing, including the early Christian Church, which followed Jesus Christ’s examples of miraculous healings of the lame and the blind. But, to its cost, the modern Church has largely forgotten its healing role, says Tom Harpur in The Uncommon Touch, a powerful and persuasive investigation of spiritual healing.Today in the West, medical science and bogus faith-healings have made the idea of spiritual healing almost laughable. Yet the ancient practice of the laying-on of hands is not only still performed, it is now gaining credibility, even among physicians and other sceptics, most notably in Britain. In The Uncommon Touch, Harpur investigates the religious roots of spiritual healing and looks at the remarkable work and ideas of modern healers. He also describes the many scientific studies that demonstrate clearly the healing and nurturing power of this astonishing phenomenon and verify that something more than the power of suggestion is at work. These include experiments showing increased growth in yeasts that have received the laying-on of hands and documentation of the effectiveness of Therapeutic Touch, a technique used by more than 30,000 nurses in North America.Using the spirit to help heal the body’s ills is an old idea – one whose time has come again. From the Hardcover edition.

He then considers, among other topics, some important biochemical processes that were discovered because of contamination; the importance of trial and error in biochemical research; the explanation of lactose intolerance in adults and practices for avoiding it; why the choice of animal models is important for medical research (and how the author injected himself with extracts of the tubercle bacilli to study the pathology of tuberculosis); and why the exotic nine-banded armadillo has unique potential for use in many areas of medical and biological investigations. The Lord's Book of Life and Health
Franca Gallo - 1994
For the one who reads this book and lives by these God-given principles, he will not fail, but benefit. Not only will he know the real reasons for his ailments, pain and suffering, but he will also learn how to alleviate his ailments and eventually eliminate them. The reader will learn the means by which diseases are spread throughout the human body; and he will also learn about the greater power of the soul and the even greater power of the spirit itself. Also described are the human organs, their function, purpose and how they communicate with each other, how healing can be accomplished through God's will, prayers that are effective and those which are not, and the influence of demonic powers and self-inflicted ailments and circumstances. Another topic which is highly underestimated and even mocked, is the subject of spirit possession. It might come as a shock to many! that evil spirits are the souls of departed human beings who led wicked lives while on Earth. But this kind of possession can only happen to those whose belief in God and in the immortality of the soul has weakened or ceased to exist. There are many chapters dedicated to how all diseases can be cured. All that is required for those who are interested in complete physical and mental health is to read the entire book from cover to cover to gain a general understanding of the order of health and a proper lifestyle, which has to be followed up by re-reading the applicable passages until they are completely understood. In the fourth part of the book great emphasis is placed on the spiritual foundation of your health such as the care of body and soul. Also marriage is discussed: what is healthy for mankind and what is not, and the kind of marriages that end up in disaster. Furthermore the proper rearing of children, how to deal with them in difficult situations which many presen! t-day educated "experts" might not agree with. But remember! this advice is given by the Greatest Physician in the Universe and it is we puny little human beings who think that we know better than our Creator. That is the very reason why our entire system is so flawed, because all these so-called experts who come up with all the "so-called answers" know nothing about the proper divine order, and add to the already existing disorder. Their entire education consists of nothing but complete disorder, which they embrace like a highly treasured possession, the result of which is right before our eyes. The fifth part of The Lord's Book of Life & Health deals with proper nourishment, and there is a chapter on nourishment for spiritual human beings and proper fasting. Other topics include: clothing, recreation and sleep, and what is important for senior citizens. Many answer are given as to old age, suicide, dying and death itself, and a life with God and a life without God.
