During her visit, she observed microscopic species in environmental laboratories and spoke with scientists. Lorde described the book as "sort of a perfect precursor" to her upcoming third studio album. All proceeds will be used to fund a postgraduate scholarship created by Antarctica New Zealand, a government agency.
