    The Structure of Scientific Revolutions is that kind of book. When it was first published in 1962, it was a landmark event in the history and philosophy of science. Not for Profit: Why Democracy Needs the Humanities

    Historically, the humanities have been central to education because they have rightly been seen as essential for creating competent democratic citizens.
