You Are Here: Discovering the Magic of the Present Moment

“Mindfulness is not an evasion or an escape,” he explains. “It means being here, present, and totally alive. It is true freedom—and without this freedom, there is no happiness.”Based on a retreat that Thich Nhat Hanh led for Westerners, this book offers a range of simple, effective practices for cultivating mindfulness, including awareness of  breathing and walking, deep listening, and skillful speech. You Are Here also offers guidance on healing emotional pain and manifesting real love and compassion in our relationships with others. Simple, warm, direct, and startlingly potent, this book reveals the heart of the Buddhist path and helps us to reconnect with the joy and wonder of being alive, regardless of life’s changing circumstances. Reality Transurfing 1: The Space of Variations

Vadim Zeland - 2004
The book opens a bizarre world where everyday reality reveals facets which you are not familiar with. Many issues of day-to-day life are perceived in an absolutely new way. We all, in one way or another, find ourselves trapped by circumstances. Desires go unfulfilled, dreams never come true, whereas our worst expectations justify themselves, as if to spite us. Can’t we turn this around? It appears that we can. And you’ll learn how. Transurfing is the technology for controlling reality. You don’t have to “attain your objectives” as everything will happen in accordance with you desires without any effort. All goals are reached without you. Unbelievable? Well, you won’t be asked to just believe it as the author presents specific methods that allow you to verify everything yourself. And only then will your ordinary way of looking at things fall apart. In spite of the completely fantastic nature of the ideas presented in this book, they have already found practical affirmation. Those who have tried Transurfing, have experienced amazement, verging on ecstasy. The world surrounding transurfers changes in an inexplicable way, literally before their very eyes. And here there is no place for mysticism as everything is absolutely real. Readers say: “It seems we knew it intuitively before! And here, at long last our gut feelings were put into words and our vague ideas proved.” This is the first English translation of the first volume of Reality Transurfing, the top non-fiction bestellers in the world in 2005 and 2006. It describes a new way of looking at reality, indeed of creating it. It provides a scientific explanation of the laws that help you do this, building up a scientific model, speaking in detail about particular rules to follow and giving important how-to tips, illustrated with examples.

The Power of Intention: Learning to Co-create Your World Your Way

Wayne W. Dyer - 2004
In this view, an attitude that combines hard work with an indefatigable drive toward excellence is the way to succeed. However, intention is viewed very differently in this book. Dr. Wayne W. Dyer has researched intention as a force in the universe that allows the act of creation to take place. This book explores intention—not as something you do—but as an energy you’re a part of. We’re all intended here through the invisible power of intention. This is the first book to look at intention as a field of energy that you can access to begin co-creating your life with the power of intention. Part I deals with the principles of intention, offering true stories and examples on ways to make the connection. Dr. Dyer identifies the attributes of the all-creating universal mind of intention as creative, kind, loving, beautiful, expanding, endlessly abundant, and receptive, explaining the importance of emulating this source of creativity. In Part II, Dr. Dyer offers an intention guide with specific ways to apply the co-creating principles in daily life. Part III is an exhilarating description of Dr. Dyer’s vision of a world in harmony with the universal mind of intention.

The Ant and the Elephant: Leadership for the Self: A Parable and 5-Step Action Plan to Transform Workplace Performance

Vince Poscente - 2004
Poscente likens the dynamic between the conscious and subconscious minds to an ant and an elephant: "Our minds are separated into two distinct functions the conscious and subconscious elements. Our ant is the intentional part of the brain, but our elephant is the instinctual, impulsive part of the brain that houses emotions and memories and even guides the body to perform vital functions. While we tend to know our conscious minds our ants rather well, we often overlook the power of our elephantine subconscious minds. When we do, unfortunately, we squander a wellspring of human potential." Having seen too many books focused on what a problem or solution is and too few focused on how to solve the problem, Poscente, with his trademark wit, wisdom and steely resolve, created The Ant and the Elephant Leadership for the Self: A Parable and Five-Step Action Plan to Transform Workplace Performance.

Character Strengths and Virtues: A Handbook and Classification

Christopher Peterson - 2004
Character may be simply defined by what someone does not do, but a more active and thorough definition is necessary, one that addresses certain vital questions. Is charactera singular characteristic of an individual, or is it composed of different aspects? Does character--however we define it--exist in degrees, or is it simply something one happens to have? How can character be developed? Can it be learned? Relatedly, can it be taught, and who might be the mosteffective teacher? What roles are played by family, schools, the media, religion, and the larger culture? This groundbreaking handbook of character strengths and virtues is the first progress report from a prestigious group of researchers who have undertaken the systematic classification andmeasurement of widely valued positive traits. They approach good character in terms of separate strengths-authenticity, persistence, kindness, gratitude, hope, humor, and so on-each of which exists in degrees.Character Strengths and Virtues classifies twenty-four specific strengths under six broad virtues that consistently emerge across history and culture: wisdom, courage, humanity, justice, temperance, and transcendence. Each strength is thoroughly examined in its own chapter, with special attention toits meaning, explanation, measurement, causes, correlates, consequences, and development across the life span, as well as to strategies for its deliberate cultivation. This book demands the attention of anyone interested in psychology and what it can teach about the good life.

The Wisdom of Ancient Cosmology: Contemporary Science in Light of Tradition

Wolfgang Smith - 2004
The present book has evolved out of a key ontological recognition consonant with time-honored metaphysical doctrine. In keeping with a realist view of cognitive sense perception, it rejects the Cartesian dichotomy of res extensa and res cogitans, and obviates what Whitehead referred to as the fallacy of bifurcation. In an earlier book (The Quantum Enigma, 1995) the author established two facts: first, that a consistent non-bifurcationist interpretation of physics can be formulated; and second, that this eliminates at one stroke the various forms of "quantum paradox" resulting from superposition and the so-called collapse of the state vector. The crucial ingredient of the new approach, mandated by the aforesaid recognition, is an ontological distinction between the physical domain, accessed via measurement, and the corporeal, accessed by way of cognitive sense perception. In the present book the author extends this metaphysically-based interpretation from fundamental physics to contemporary cosmology. With the aid of a few additional conceptions consonant, say, with the Thomistic doctrine - such as the concept of what he terms "the extrapolated universe" or the notion of "vertical causation" relating to intelligent design - he treats a broad range of issues from a unified metaphysical point of view. Not surprisingly, his conclusions tend to be radically at odds with the prevailing interpretations of scientific data, regardless of whether these are based upon naturalistic or scientistically theistic presuppositions. The author's approach may thus be characterized as the third alternative: the sole option, it appears, consistent with the Aristotelian and Platonist traditions, and with the wisdom of Christianity, as delineated especially in the Patristic writings.

Deep down, though, we still hold on to the hope that "just maybe" the voice inside telling us "there is more to life than this" will turn out to be right. "And it is right." There "is" more. The secret lies deep within your heart. It's trying to show you a life that can only happen when you chase your wildest dreams. ARE YOU BRAVE ENOUGH TO TAKE A LOOK? Story Behind the Book In this series of specially focused books, the Wilkinsons take teaching to a new level by introducing a modern-day parable specific to each title; The Dream Giver for Parents, The Dream Giver for Couples, and The Dream Giver for Teens. Awakening and Healing the Rainbow Body

Jessie E. Ayani - 2004
We are invited to enter the path of liberation - the liberation of consciousness that culminates in self-realization or enlightenment. Though a useful adjunct to any spiritual teaching, this path to enlightenment does not require gurus, priests, or teachers to lead us to God. This path asks us to look within, rather than without, to find the master that knows itself as a reflection of God. It asks us to live our divinity on earth. Without this mastery of the unconscious, the fifth dimension's dynamic activation and opening of the heart will remain a mythic "heaven". This path to self-mastery asks that we become aware of our self as light/energy - sacred geometry compressed into form (our rainbow body). Encoded within the geometric light scaffolds of our rainbow body are the challenges for spiritual growth within this life as well as the purpose of our soul. Will we fulfill that purpose? Consciousness is a choice, not a requirement, of life on earth.

Indrajit Garai - 2004
Numerous case studies on people who have changed their lives simply by overcoming their inner resistance. We all want to attain excellence in what we do, but the first resistance comes from within us. We prevent ourselves from doing our best, from approaching our inner richness, and from feeling sincerely well within. The key to our durable well-being is by aligning accordance with our self, by overcoming our internal resistance, and by acting in synergy with our deepest values. But, how? Only our original solution, which originates from within us, can provide that. This book, based on twelve years of client work, reveals why ‘accordance with self’ is the prerequisite for a deep and durable well-being. Why only our original solution can do this, and how we can easily construct this solution from inside out. And attain our inherent potential, by aligning with ourselves. Others have done this with grace; their results endure. You can do it too. The author: Indrajit Garai, an American citizen now, was born in India in 1965.
