القرآن الكريم

Anonymous
The Quran is composed of verses (Ayat) that make up 114 chapters (suras) of unequal length which are classified either as Meccan (المكية) or Medinan (المدنية) depending upon the place and time of their claimed revelation. Muslims believe the Quran to be verbally revealed through the angel Jibrīl (Gabriel) from God to Muhammad gradually over a period of approximately 23 years beginning on 22 December 609 CE, when Muhammad was 40, and concluding in 632 CE, the year of his death.Muslims regard the Quran as the main miracle of Muhammad, the proof of his prophethood and the culmination of a series of divine messages that started with the messages revealed to Adam, regarded in Islam as the first prophet, and continued with Suhuf Ibrahim (Scrolls of Abraham), the Tawrat (Torah or Pentateuch) of Moses, the Zabur (Tehillim or Book of Psalms) of David, and the Injil (Gospel) of Jesus. The Quran assumes familiarity with major narratives recounted in Jewish and Christian scriptures, summarizing some, dwelling at length on others and in some cases presenting alternative accounts and interpretations of events. The Quran describes itself as a book of guidance, sometimes offering detailed accounts of specific historical events, and often emphasizing the moral significance of an event over its narrative sequence.

The Translation of the Meanings of Sahih Al-Bukhari - Arabic-English (9 Volumes)

محمد بن إسماعيل البخاري
Imam Bukhari collected the Ahaadeeth over a period of 16 years. He stated that before writing any Hadith in this book, he performed Salat of Istikhaara (offered two Rak'at prayer for guidance from Allah), and when he was sure of its authenticity, he included that Hadith in his Sahih. There are 7563 Ahaadeeth in this great collection consisting of 9 Volumes. Each book (subtopics in each volume categorized by very broad topics such as the Book of As-Salat) contains many chapters which represent one logical unit of Ahaadeeth. Each book contains anywhere from one to 150 chapters with each chapter containing several Ahaadeeth.Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan translated this book in simple and easy language. Tremendous amounts of errors exist in the translations by other translators. To eliminate the problem Dar-us-Salam spent over 3 years in the publication of this book and presented a book which is translated into English in a very easy & simple language, so that all readers can understand it without difficulty. We wish that all the peoples of the world, and the Muslims in particular, implement the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) in their daily life.

Divine Speech

Nouman Ali Khan
Since its inception, the power of the Quran has derived not only from its message, but also from the inimitable literary style and rhetorical impact that the Arabic scripture has on its audiences. Divine Speech: Exploring the Quran as Literature attempts to make some of the most recent Arabic and European-language scholarship on its literary features accessible to a wider, English-speaking audience. These features include its language and word choice, its use of figures of speech and other rhetorical devices, its manner of narrating parables and stories, and the structure, coherence, and the order of its "chapters"-aspects that typically remain mysterious to readers of English translations of the text. Divine Speech furnishes its readers with a better appreciation of the Quran from a literary perspective, and in the process stimulates interest in, and provides tools and resources for, further study of the scripture.

The Dilemma Of Muslim Psychologists

Malik B. Badri
As in other areas of social sciences, some Muslim thinkers and scholars have developed an amazing skill for the unthinking repetition and blind copying of Western, non-Islamic ideas and practices. “In the Lizard’s Hole” is a Prophetic epitaph that describes this activity very well. Some Muslim psychologists insist dogmatically on prying even into lizard’s holes that have been partly or totally abandoned by their Western counterparts. But do Muslims really need modern psychology at all? Is modern psychology wholly Western? Is there a way in which it could be reconciled with Islam? These burning questions lie lurking behind the dilemma of Muslim psychologists.

Shah Jo Risalo

Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai
Many scholars and linguists have published Shah Jo Risalo with their own compilations, hence its many editions are available. No single edition is believed to be the authentic, but the oldest manuscript of Shah Jo Risalo is believed to contain all the authentic verses of Bhitai. It is believed that Shah's verses were compiled in his life, but he did not like that and threw the only manuscript of his verses into a pond. Later, his devotees demanded him to write some verses, hence he told them many verses which were noted in writing. But most of his work was never written, only memorized by people, and became popular in the folk culture of Sindh. The traditional compilations of Shah Jo Risalo include 30 Surs (chapters) which were compiled by the renowned researchers. The oldest publications of Shah Jo Risalo contained some 36 Surs, but later most of the linguists discarded 6 Surs, as their language and content did not match with the Shah's style. Recently, Dr. Nabi Bakhsh Baloch, the most renowned linguist of Sindhi language has compiled and printed a new edition after 32 years of research in folk culture, language and history of Sindhi language.

It also includes answers to questions sent by women to Bediuzzaman Said Nursi. In the author's words: "It is suggested that by some Hadiths that at the end of time, among women the truths of belief will hold an important place and to an extent the women will be preserved from the dangers posed by the misguidance of those times. There is Hadith the meaning of which is: 'At the end of time follow the religion of the elderly women.' That is to say, the heartfelt sincerity of those champions of compassion, arising from their compassion, will be a means of saving them from perils of the hypocritical misguidance of those times. They will adhere steadfastly to Islam."

Characteristics of the Hypocrites

Ibn Qayyim Al Jawziyyah
A person’s heart could be overflowing with it yet be oblivious of it due to its hidden and subtle nature; frequently does it lead a person to think they are acting rightly when in reality he is spreading corruption. It is of two types: major and minor; majority hypocrisy leads to eternal punishment in the lowest depths of Hell; it is to outwardly display faith in Allah, His Angles, His Books, His Messengers, and the last Day whereas inwardly one is devoid of such belief, indeed disbelieving in it. They do not believe that Allah spoke to a man amongst men who He appointed to be Messenger: guiding them by His permission and warning them of His punishments.

The Three That Follow to the Grave

ابن رجب الحنبلي
Verified to be sahih by Al-Mundhiri and Al-AlbaniAbu Qatadah, rahimahullah, reported that Allah's Messenger, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said:"Among the good deeds that continue to benefit a believer after death are: a knowledge that he taught and disseminated, a righteous child who lived after him, a Qur'an book that he left as inheritance a masjid that he built, a house that he built for the two wayfarers, a stream that he ran, or a charity that he gave from his wealth during his healthy lifetime so that it would reach him (in rewards) after death." - Ibn Majah and others. Verified hasan by Al-Mundhiri and Al-AlbaniCommenting on this, Al-Mundhiri, rahimahullah, said:"Some scholars say that the deeds of a human being end with his death. However, since he had caused these things (which are mentioned in the above ahadith), such as the earning of a child, disseminating the knowledge among those who take it from him, compiling a book that remains after him, or establishing a sadaqah, the rewards of these things continue to reach him as long as they continue to exist." - 'Awn al-Ma'bud, 8:86The reason that one continues to receive rewards for these deeds even though they are done by other people, is that he had initiated them during his life or contributed to them to a certain degree, whether little or large. Since Allah does not neglect an atom's weight of deeds, He records these contribution for a person even after his death. Abu al-Wafa' ibn 'Aqil said:"The best explanation for this in my view is that a human being, by his efforts and good conduct, had earned friends, produced children, married spouses, done good, and was amiable to the people. Because of this, they invoke mercy for him and do good on his behalf. All of this is then a result of his own earning." - Ar-Ruh, Ibn Al-Qayyim, p.171About The AuthorImam Ibn Rajab al Hanbali (736 - 795 AH) was the noble Imam, the Hafidh, the Critic, Zayn-ud-Deen Abdur-Rahman bin Ahmad bin Abdir-Rahman bin al-Hasan bin Muhammad bin Abil-Barakat Masud As-Salami Al-Baghdadi (due to his place of birth), Al-Hanbali (due to his madh-hab), Ad-Dimashqi (due to his place of residence and death). His kunyah was Abul-Faraj, and his nickname was Ibn Rajab, which was the nickname of his grandfather who was born in that month (of Rajab). He was born in Baghdad in 736H and was raised by a knowledgeable family, firmly rooted in knowledge, nobility and righteousness. His father played the greatest role in directing him towards the beneficial knowledge. He was deeply attached to the works of Shaikh-ul-Islam Ibn Taimiyyah, for he would issue legal rulings according to them and would constantly reference his books. This is since he served as a student under Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, the most outstanding student of Shaikh-ul-Islam Ibn Taimiyyah, may Allah have mercy on all of them. But in spite of this, he (rahimahullah) wasn't a blind follower or a fanatical adherent (to his teacher). Rather, he would review, authenticate, verify and follow the evidences.Al-Hafidh Ibn Rajab, may Allah have mercy on him passed to the realm of the Akhira in Ramadan, 795H. He died while in Damascus.

What Did Jesus Really Say?

Misha'al ibn Abdullah
The account and the discussions presented are based on, and collected from, the writings of Christian authors, the Church and the Bible. The book: - Shows the historical sequence of who tampered and changed the Bible, why and how. - Demonstrates how Prophet Jesus, alayhes sallam, never told in anyone in the Bible "worship me." or "I am a god." - Demonstrates how the Bible to this day does not contain a single verse which claims that God is a "Trinity" or three-in-one. - Shows how both the Old and New Testament repeatedly emphasized to mankind that God is ONE and commanded them to worship only one God. - Shows how Jesus, alayhes sallam, repeatedly told mankind to worship "the Father" and to worship "the Father and son." - Shows how Jesus' people repeatedly refer to him in the Bible as "A Prophet." - Shows how Jesus and Moses, alayhemas sallam, both made many prophesies of the last messenger. These prophesies have been shown to be impossible to apply to anyone but him. There are over ten such detailed prophesies. - Shows how the Dead Sea Scrolls which were recently discovered in Palestine in 1947 and which were written by the Jews who were waiting for the coming of Jesus, alayhes sallam, clearly state that they were not waiting for one, but two prophets. The first would be announced by an eschatological prophet (John the Baptist). This statement is repeated throughout the scrolls. If you want the truth about Christianity you must read this book. This book also is an excellent dawah gift to Christians.

Rather, some of them are obligatory upon everyone everywhere, whether or not they are students of knowledge. he purpose of attaining knowledge of the Shari’ah is to perfect one’s clarity of expression, and the purpose of perfecting one’s clarity of expression is to single out Allah and worship Him. Therefore, the purpose of seeking knowledge is to single out Allah – the Mighty and Majestic – and worship Him, and the message gets across much better when the one who has positioned himself to deal with this knowledge – whether he is a student or teacher – clearly shows these signs of singling out Allah and worshiping Him by submitting completely to the pure Shari’ah and noble Religion.Based on this, the manners of seeking this knowledge are completely inseparable from the person who deals with it, because this is what the texts show, and because these manners include vast principles of the Religion that are not within anybody’s luxury to contradict or look to without taking seriously. And these manners are at all times a definite obligation upon the seeker of knowledge, and Allah is the source of help, and upon Him is all reliance. “I spent thirty years learning manners, and I spent twenty years learning knowledge.” – ‘Abdullah bin al-Mubarak 1 Purify Your Intention for Allah in Seeking Knowledge.2 Purify Yourself Inwardly and Outwardly From That Which Contradicts the Shari’ah.3 Completely Free Your Heart for Knowledge and Remove All Obstacles.4 Eat Little, Be Cautious, and Constantly Remember Allah.5 Eat, Sleep, and Speak as Seldom as Possible.6 Reduce Socialization and Choose the Right Friends.7 Choose What to Start With and Who to Teach You.8 Have the Best Manners with Your Teacher.9 Treat Your Books Well.10 How to Act During a Lesson.

Disciplining The Soul

Ibn al-Jawzi
However, when these natural impulses are not moderated it culminates in harm. If the desire for food is excessive it leads to gluttony. Similarly when anger is uncontrolled it leads to transgression. The aim should be to achieve equilibrium of the soul, to allow the faithful to approach God without distraction. The author addresses many spiritual diseases - such as envy, greed, uncontrolled lust, sexual desire, arrogance, gluttony, anger, stinginess, extravagance, vanity and attachment to this world. He also discusses the qualities that the seeker of God must acquire - such as love, self discipline, humility, self-criticism, improvement of character, patience and truthfulness. In a simple yet effective way he shows the wayfarers how to cure their spiritual diseases and acquire the necessary qualities for their journey to Allah. This masterpiece has been divided into thirty chapters to facilitate the reader's comprehension. Important points are highlighted using anecdotes from the early righteous predecessors. The author, Ibn al-Jawzi (d. 597 AH) was an erudiate scholar of the Hanbali madhab.

Ayodhya: The Case Against The Temple

Koenraad Elst
My first book in this sphere of interest was Ram Janmabhoomi vs. Babri Masjid: A Case Study in Hindu-Muslim Conflict (1990). It served a good purpose, viz. to break the false impression that the world of scholarship including Western Indologists was united in certifying that the Hindu claim to the disputed site in Ayodhya was historically unfounded. In the subsequent years, evidence has been piling up in favour of the Hindu claim. Corning full circle, I have included in this book a compilation of papers on various aspects of the Ayodhya debate written by me between 1995 and 2002. Its main focus is the argumentation and view of Hindu-Muslim history offered by the anti-temple party. In references to the question whether there really was a Hindu temple at the Ayodhya site later covered by the Babri Masjid, the focus is invariably on the case made by the Hindu side, viz. that there was a temple, and that different types of evidence confirm this. The standard question is: is this evidence for the temple demolition scenario valid? Have they succeeded in proving the existence of the temple? By contrast, the opponents of the temple hypothesis are but very rarely asked to put their evidence on the table. The non-temple argumentation is confined to two types of evidence: arguments from silence, and attempts to find fault with pieces of evidence offered by the temple party. Criticism of the pro-temple argument is usually directed against a straw man, not against the actual argumentation as presented by pro-temple scholars. A number of much-acclaimed anti-temple publications bravely announce in the introduction or on the cover that they will demolish every argument given (or 'concocted' and 'maliciously propagated') by the temple party, but then fail to address or even mention the main ...

الحبيب عبد الله بن علوي الحداد الحضرمي الشافعي
Translation by Muhammad Mmamali Adam, Edited & Published by Abdulkader Ali Esa Alhadad. This book was first translated 10 years ago and was given a new edit for this publishing. This publishing has been approved by the Maqam of Imam Al-Haddad.From the author’s preface:“… O dear student, seeker, who wish to present himself before your Lord; you should know, indeed, that when you ask me for advice in relation to the path that you are seeking, I feel at this point there is nothing ready for presentation. However, I do feel that I should forward a few points, short and simple, on the manners and the way in which a student seeker thread the path to Allah, the Exalted, with some brief uncomplicated statements.”

Islamic Creed Series (8 Vols)

عمر سليمان عبد الله الأشقر
These deeply written books explain, thoroughly, all the creeds and fundamentals of Islam, like the beliefs, the unseen creations, and the hereafter. They are written in an easy-to-understand method, and cover all of the creeds that are essential to being a Muslim.-The first is Belief in Allah. Belief in Allah is the most important aspect of being a Muslim. It is a fundamental belief in Islam. But many Muslims have allowed, through different philosophies and mythologies, for distorted concepts of Allah to creep into their minds. Al-Ashqar discusses these concepts, affirms the Oneness of Allah, and proves the theory of evolution wrong in the first part of the Islamic Creed Series.-The second volume is The World of the Noble Angels. We all know that angels exist. But who are they? What are they? And what role do they play in our society?-The third volume is The World of Jinns and Devils. There are creatures beyond humans, different from humans. In their creation, in their attributes, and even in their traits. The Jinns are a small portion of these creatures.-The fourth book in the series is The Messengers and the Messages. Messengers are humans, just like us, sent from Allah to help us be better people and to guide us to the straight path. Belief in all the messengers is an important part of being a Mu'min, or believer.-The fifth book is The Minor Resurrection. What happens after death? When will our world end? What are the signs? These are questions roaming around so many peoples' minds. The answer to these are in his book, directly produced from the Qur'an and the Sunnah.-The sixth book is The Day of Resurrection. We all know that this is a subject that is vital to every believing men and women. This book talks about it, and for this reason, deserves to be on every Muslim's bookshelf.-The seventh book in the Islamic Creed Series is Paradise and Hell. The only two places that Allah will have the option to welcome us into in the Hereafter. Obviously, this subject is important. Because nothing is more important to a true Muslim than attaining Paradise and avoiding Hell.-The eighth and final book in the series is Divine Will and Predestination. This concept is the last pillar of faith. Because Muslims believe in predestination, does this mean that they are hopeless fatalists, surrendering to the claws of fate? In this book, Al-Ashqar explains fate in great depth and details.

Difference between Advising And Shaming

Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali
He beautifully illustrates the difference between advising that is encouraged, and shaming that is not permitted-two topics that often become tangled and misunderstood . The author thus explains the characteristics of sincere advice and censure with a depth of clarity that will no doubt bring benefit to all, particularly those involved in active da’wah.

Attributes of the Righteous Wife

Shaykh Abdur Razzaq Ibn Abdul Muhsin Al-Abbaad
Nor is it merely addressed to the married woman who has already chosen these righteous attributes and wishes to persevere and continue to practice them. Nor is it only for the married woman who fails to fulfill these attributes and falls short in them in order for her to fix herself and rectify her marital life. Rather it is an address and a reminder much more general than all of this. It is a reminder for the father who wants his daughters as well as any other women under his guardianship to have a good upbringing, an honorable life and an entrance into marital life according to what Allaah and His Messenger have intended. This treatise will hopefully aid him in reminding these young women of the legislative guidelines and necessary characteristics that the young Muslim woman must be cultivated upon and look after. This treatise is also a reminder for the mother who is the shepherd of her home, the one responsible for her daughters as their instructor, for surely most women grow up practicing that which they saw and heard their mothers doing. It is also a reminder for the callers to Allaah to look after this affair, to place importance on this matter and to strive very hard in spreading these virtuous attributes, commendable characteristics and blessed traits...."

Tears of the Yearners for the Meeting with God

Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali
It is the chapter entitled, “Khitam al-‘Am” (The Year’s End), wherein the author speaks about the best way to end one’s year of worship. The chapter focuses on the question of the preparation for death and whether or not it is lawful to wish for death; if lawful, under what conditions can a Muslim wish for death and when must he/she not?Ibn Rajab makes an excellent choice of Qur’anic verses, hadiths, wise quotes, and poetic verses to help the reader comprehend the gravity of death, the goal of living, and the perquisites and perils of the Afterlife. It is a chapter which realizes the Arab proverb, “The best speech is short and clear” (khayr al-kalam ma qalla wa dalla). I entitled the translation of this chapter, Tears of the Yearners for the Meeting with God (Dumu’ al-Mushtaqin ila Liqa’ Rabb al-‘Alamin) or simply Tears of the Yearners. The reason for the title is that throughout the chapter, Ibn Rajab showcases many luminaries who cried while on their deathbeds out of a yearning and readiness to meet God.

The Remembrance of Death and the Afterlife

Shaykh Al Islam Ibn Qudamah Al Maqdisi
Death is the reality of every soul and it is the destroyer of all pleasures. How strange is it indeed that a human is so immersed in worldly life; it’s delights, glitter, glamour, fame and power that they are heedless of a truth which is about to strike at any time, with no return.Death is a tremendous reality however, in today’s modern era, there is lack of contemplation on it, or it is remembered with a heedless heart. It is for this reason the remembrance of death is important and preparing for it is an utmost need. Like the one who wants to travel to the edge of a dangerous desert or travels by sea or air, only thinking about the journey and how to reach with safety and security.Hamid al-Qaysari used to say: “All of us were certain of death, yet we were not prepared for it. All of us were certain of Paradise, yet we had not performed any actions for it. All of us were certain of the Hellfire, yet we were not in fear of it. So why are you joyous? What are you waiting for? Death! It is the first visitor from Allah which brings either good or evil. O believers, travel to your Lord in a beautiful way.”This work will awaken every soul, shaking off the slumber of idleness, firing the spirit up to prepare for the inevitable journey which needs striving and good works in order to reach salvation. This text covers many issues related to the Hereafter, taking the reader on a journey starting from remembering death, having lengthy hopes in the worldly life and learning from the deaths of the Prophet (Peace and Blessings be upon him) and his companions. The text explores the true nature of death, Hellfire, the description of Paradise, virtues of loving the Messenger and ending with never losing hope in the mercy of Allah. It is a small but powerful text which gives a comprehensive overview of the Afterlife; sure to stimulate a positive change in the reader.

Al Ghurabah - The Strangers

ibn Rajab al hanbali
In this treatise, Ibn Rajab deals with the topic of the Strangers, or Al-Ghurabaa. He begins by listing the many ahaadeeth reported about them, in which the Messenger of Allaah describes their attributes and explains their position. They are given this name because they will be strange during the Last Days, due to their adherence to the Sunnah and to the Way of the First Muslims, the Salaf As-Saalih. So just as those who first accepted Islaam at the hands of Muhammad (saws) were considered strangers with their families and close ones, then indeed, those who adhere to the Sunnah in the last Days, when innovations and misguidance are rampant and widespread, will also be considered strangers amidst their families and close ones, not to mention the disbelievers.http://www.allahsword.com/ebooks/Hadi...

Being True With Allah

Abdullah Yusuf Azzam
The biggest problem facing Islam today is the lack of the sincere and truthful amongst those who are working for Allah, except for those few hidden, pious, and pure people who were made for leading nations, and were made for navigating the ship. Translated by Abu Sabaya.Abdullah Yusuf Azzam was born in a village in the North of Palestine named Selat AI Harithia in Genine District in the year 1941. Sheikh Abdullah Azzam received his early elementary and secondary school education in his village, and continued his education at the agricultural Khadorri College where he obtained a Diploma. Although he was the youngest amongst his colleagues, he was the brightest and most astute. After he graduated from Khadorri College, he worked as a teacher in a village named Adder in the South of Jordan. Later he joined Shariah College in Damascus University where he obtained a B.A. Degree in Shariah in 1966. After the Jews captured the West Bank in 1967, Sheikh Abdullah Azzam decided to migrate to Jordan, because he could not live under the Jewish occupation of Palestine. The sacrilege of the Israeli tanks rolling into the West Bank without any resistance made him more determined to migrate, to learn the skills necessary to fight. In the late 1960's he joined the Jihad against the Israeli occupation of Palestine from Jordan. During that time he received a Masters Degree in Shariah from the University of AI Azhar. In 1970 when the Jihad came to a halt, and the PLO was forced out of Jordan, he assumed a teaching position in the Jordanian University in Amman. In 1971 he was awarded a scholarship to the AI Azhar University in Cairo at which he obtained a Ph.D. Degree in Ussul al Fiqh in 1973.
