Angular 4: From Theory To Practice: Build the web applications of tomorrow using the new Angular web framework from Google.

Asim Hussain - 2017
    - Build an Angular 2 application from scratch using TypeScript and the Angular command line interface. - Write code using the paradigm of reactive programming with RxJS and Observables. - Know how to Unit Test Angular 2 using Jasmine, Karma and the Angular Test Bed The first chapter in the course is a quickstart where you dive straight into writing your first Angular 2 application. We use the web editor plunker so you can get stuck in writing code ASAP. In this quickstart you'll get a 50,000 foot view of the major features of Angular 2. Then chapter by chapter we go much deeper into each of these features. I'll cover the theory for that feature, using plunker as much as possible so you can try out the code yourself in a browser. Then you'll practice what you've learnt with either an online quiz or a set of flash cards. You are going to learn all about:- - Typescript & ES6 Javascript. - Components & Binding - Directives - Dependancy Injection & Services - Angular Modules & Bootstrapping your Angular application. - SPAs & Routing - Angular CLI - Forms - Reactive Programming with RXJs - HTTP - Unit Testing The ideal student is an existing web developer, with some JavaScript knowledge that wants to add Angular 2 to their skill set. Or perhaps you are an existing Angular 1 developer who wants to level up to Angular 2. You do need to be comfortable with at least the ES5 version of JavaScript. We'll be using a UI framework called twitter bootstrap throughout the course but you still must know HTML and some CSS.

WW2: A Laymans Guide

Scott Addington - 2016
Want to know about the Second World War but don't want to wade through thousands of pages? Want to know the facts and discover the why/who/what/when of WW2 without being bored rigid? You have come to the right place! This 'Layman's Guide' has been written to educate, engage and entertain readers - especially those who perhaps have not read too much about WW2 before. Short, sharp chapters are written with a pace and style not normally found in history books (which, let's be honest, can be pretty tough to read sometimes!) More akin to a nice easy chat over a cup of tea rather than a heavy historical text the story flows naturally, albeit without mountains of minutiae. This Layman's Guide provides enough detail to gain a good grounding of knowledge and understanding , without the reader becoming overwhelmed in detail and complexity.

Free Kindle Books and How to Find Them

Michael Gallagher - 2009
This guide shows you where you can receive several hundred thousand free books, blogs, short stories, and other content. Theoretically, you will never have to pay another cent for Kindle reading content again. It would cost thousands of dollars to replace most people’s physical books with the same books in electronic format – this guide will show you where to look and find thousands of books so you can read to your heart’s content. This guide also provides a brief overview of how to transfer books to your Kindle, the various file formats that are compatible with the Kindle, and how to download free books from the Internet and transfer to your Kindle.I will be updating this guide periodically as new material becomes available; you can check for the latest version by either reading the “Book Description” from your Kindle (you will need to have the Kindle’s wireless feature turned on) and seeing when it was last updated or, alternatively, from your computer’s web browser doing the same thing from the main Amazon store. If it has been updated, I will put in the first line the date of the revision. For example, this revision is from August 2009.Here is what you need to do to receive the updated content free. First delete the title "Free Kindle Books and How to Find Them" from your Kindle and "Your Media Library." If you are unable to delete the title "Free Kindle Books and How to Find Them" from "Your Media Library," contact Amazon Customer Service and have them delete "Free Kindle Books and How to Find Them" from "Your Media Library."Once the book has been deleted, In your Amazon account, go to "Your Media Library" and click the "Downloads" tab, located at the top. Select the purchased title "Free Kindle Books and How to Find Them," followed by "Send wirelessly to Kindle." The updated version will now be available on your Kindle to read.

Young People, Ethics, and the New Digital Media: A Synthesis from the Good Play Project

Carrie James - 2009
This report, part of the GoodPlay Project, undertaken by researchers at Harvard Graduate School of Education's Project Zero, investigates the ethical fault lines of such digital pursuits. The authors argue that five key issues are at stake in the new media: identity, privacy, ownership and authorship, credibility, and participation. Drawing on evidence from informant interviews, emerging scholarship on new media, and theoretical insights from psychology, sociology, political science, and cultural studies, the report explores the ways in which youth may be redefining these concepts as they engage with new digital media. The authors propose a model of "good play" that involves the unique affordances of the new digital media; related technical and new media literacies; cognitive and moral development and values; online and offline peer culture; and ethical supports, including the absence or presence of adult mentors and relevant educational curricula. This proposed model for ethical play sets the stage for the next part of the GoodPlay project, an empirical study that will invite young people to share their stories of engagement with the new digital media. The John D. and Catherine T. Diary Of An 80s Computer Geek: A Decade of Micro Computers, Video Games & Cassette Tape

Steven Howlett - 2014
The 1980s were certainly loud, often garish and utterly fabulous - no matter how embarrassing the outfits were. There are so many elements, which made the 80s a truly great decade, but one of the greatest contributions, if not the greatest, is the mass introduction of affordable 8-bit home micro computers. These curious machines of geekdom changed the way we regarded computers and technology. No longer were they the sole perverse of tweed jacket clad scientists sporting unruly beards, micro computers were now forming a staple inventory in millions of homes.Much of the technology that we enjoy today, such as desktop computers, notebooks, tablets, gaming consoles and smart phones, all of which are often taken for granted, can be traced back to this innovative decade. If you were a child of the 80s and remember the joy of receiving your very first home computer or maybe a young adult who fondly remembers the excitement, then you will appreciate this unabashed reminiscence of a simpler time whose adolescent technological was on the cusp of great advancements. This book is intended as celebration and reflection of all the computer technology that made the 80s such a wonderful, pioneering period and follows the journey of a self confessed, teenaged computer geek who experienced and enjoyed every ground breaking moment, including publishing his own software.10 Print “The 80s are fab!”20 Goto 10RunAuthor's Comments:The current edition is dated 31st January 2016 and has been edited based on customer feedback.
