Coroline’s father, flippantly says Thirty horses, believing the Indian could never come up with so many horses. When the Sioux shows up with thirty horses, her father tries to back out of the deal, claiming he would never sell his daughter for any amount of horses. Because the price had been set, Walk With Honor believes the bargain is valid, and won't take no for an answer. He offers sixty horses, but when he is turned down, again, he resorts to the only course he believes he can take. Walk With Honor, brings sixty horses, in the night, leaving them with the wagon train, and steals Coroline away. This story is based on true events that happened on the Oregon trail, to Caroline Bayley. While the Indian really did leave Sixty horses for Caroline, and took her, my fictional ending to the story, is out of my own imagination..
