Can he find and stop the forces that are moving against Dawn Luke, or will he end up with another hole in his heart that’s too big to fill? BLOOD RISE In the final book in this series, London Carter has planned the perfect surprise vacation for Dawn Luke. They’re heading to the Smoky Mountains National Park, where he’ll drop down to one knee in front of Abrams Falls and propose to her. However, when a grisly discovery is made in a small community within Magnolia Parish, they’re forced to return home to investigate. They soon learn that the victim, Kathleen Bertrand, has been killed in the most heinous manner imaginable, and they delve into her past looking for anything that might help explain what happened. They locate some skeletons in her closet and, while one of them might be motive enough for murder, the brutal nature of the crime doesn't seem to fit. As Dawn and London drive to the Gulf Coast town of Dark Sands, Mississippi to follow-up on a piece of evidence they discovered in Kathleen’s car, Deputy Abraham Wilson is called to investigate the disappearance of another Plymouth East woman. Fearing the cases are connected and the second victim might suffer the same fate as the first, they work nearly nonstop to bring the killer to justice. No one knows if they’ll locate the victim in time to save her, but it’s clear London won’t be dropping down to one knee anytime soon--unless it’s to take a shot.

Within hours of landing at her new job Charlie finds herself traveling to an odd little town in the middle of nowhere to discover if Bigfoot is real. Charlie hits the ground running, excitement practically overwhelming her. The dead woman worked at a local resort and was very popular with her male colleagues. Hemlock Cove boasts numerous mysteries, of course, and when the team checks in to a local inn called The Overlook they find a gaggle of wacky women to contend with. On top of the potential Bigfoot issue, Charlie is convinced there’s something going on with the Winchester women and she’s determined to get to the bottom of the secrets she’s convinced they’re keeping. That’s on top of the fact that Charlie is keeping her own secret. She’s psychic and telekinetic – and exactly the sort of person the Legacy Foundation would like to find. That means she’s hiding in plain sight, and she’s desperate to make sure nobody figures that out. Charlie is in for a wild ride, one that includes a magical adventure and concludes with a potentially deadly face-off. Nothing New Under the Sun / The Wolves of Freydis / The Alboran Codex / The Nabatean Secret
J.C. Ryan - 2017
And before long, Carter finds himself with not only a large number of critics from across the world, but also a number of ardent followers. Through the ages kings, rulers, power seekers and governments, have been trying secretly, and sometimes not so secretly, to get their hands on artifacts believed to have immense power. Examples include the Holy Grail, the Ark of the Covenant, Bachal Isu – the staff of Moses, carried by David, and the King of Kings, Jesus Christ, the Spear of Destiny, the time machine “the glock” created by the Germans during WWII, and ancient lost cities with hidden fortunes of gold and artifacts with unimaginable powers. There is a no shortage of unscrupulous, power hungry people who will do anything, including kill, to possess these relics- if they exist. Most frightening of them all are the ancient texts that speak of earth’s destruction by nuclear weapons thousands of years ago. Do those nuclear weapons still exist? If so where are they? Can Carter Devereux discover them before anyone else can? The Wolves of Freydis Carter Devereux’s idyllic world had been shattered and catapulted into chaos, and with it, the fate of humanity itself. With a traitor in their midst who seems to stay one step ahead of them, it is a race against time for Carter Devereux and a team of Special Forces operators who must fight evils never before encountered. Can they uncover the traitor, free the captives from an unknown location, and stop the evil from sweeping in and changing the world as we know it? The Alboran Codex In the year 106 AD, when the Roman legions marched on their capital at Petra, the Nabateans surrendered their empire to the Romans, without a fight, and according to historians ceased to exist. But very few knew that the Nabateans didn't cease to exist, they just stayed out of sight for more than 1,900 years, and now they are on the verge of implementing their final plan. Carter Devereux, with his knowledge of the City of the Giants and their library in the Egyptian desert is the only obstacle in the way to achieve their goals. Therefore, the order of the Council of the Covenant of Nabatea is clear; “We MUST have that information. All of it. Move in on Carter Devereux… and get it at all costs, up to and including the killing of everyone….” The Nabatean Secret Sentries at the Main Gate of Patch Barracks had turned away the last of the local Fasching revelers an hour or so before, laughingly joking with them that the Barracks were too quiet for their parties. A few soldiers, somewhat worse for wear after joining the locals for the opening night of Germany’s “Fifth Season”, straggled in around midnight. They were cheerfully waved through the gate by the envious guards, who had pulled duty that night and didn’t get to celebrate. Since then, the night had been still, only the night sounds typical of the region breaking the silence. The cell and radio tower behind the thick trees was lit by an eerie glow from the remains of the Fasching bonfire a few miles away. It would be six long hours until sunrise and their relief. The peace of the night lulled them to silence.

She slowly turned around and her heart dropped when she saw the ghost of a young girl standing near the road. Like the other ghosts Elaine had encountered, the girl was translucent. Elaine could make out her features, but if she looked closely she could see through her to the woods beyond. The girl had shoulder length, brown hair, and Elaine could see where a dimple was hidden in her cheek. Elaine’s heart sank; it was the ghost of Marsha Swanson, the first victim and the girl who had been in her dream. Marsha shook her head, and tears began to roll down her cheek. “I’m cold, so cold,” she said. “Can you help me get warm?” She lifted pleading, tear-filled eyes to Elaine. She began to fade from view, but before she was totally gone, she turned back to Elaine. “Please help me,” she cried desperately, tears filling her eyes. “I’m so cold.” Elaine Wright has been called in to help solve a case of disappearing coeds from the college in Baraboo, Wisconsin. But Detective Ryan Wagner wanted more than Elaine’s expertise in criminology when he called on her to help solve the crime, he wanted the benefit of her psychic gift. And he wanted another chance to get to know the professor in a more personal way.

An Isle of Man Ghostly Cozy Collection - ABC
Diana Xarissa - 2017
Arrivals and Arrests Fenella Woods has only met a few people during the twenty-four hours she's been in Douglas, the capital city of the Isle of Man. She's shocked when she discovers one of them dead in an alley behind her apartment building. Struggling to adapt to her new life in a foreign country seems easy compared to coping with finding herself in the middle of a murder investigation. Nearly fifty and newly single, Fenella meets a handsome police inspector, a dashing new neighbor, and a sophisticated businessman, all of whom have her questioning her determination to remain unattached. Having a ghost for a roommate and a kitten as an uninvited houseguest has her questioning her decision to start a new life on the small island in the Irish Sea after all. Boats and Bad Guys Fenella Woods is excited to be taking the ferry across the Irish Sea to England so that she can begin her research. When she finds a dead body in her cabin, she has to change her plans. The police seem convinced that the killer is one of the other passengers who had a cabin reserved for the journey. Fenella meets a group of suspects that includes a wealthy couple, an older man and his much younger wife, and a retired and incredibly nosy woman. Finding herself caught up in the middle of another murder investigation isn’t pleasant for Fenella. This time Fenella is determined not to take any advice from her dead aunt who continues to occupy the luxury apartment that used to be her home. Her kitten, Katie, isn’t much help either, as she seems determined to cause as much mischief as she possibly can. While Fenella wants to help Inspector Robinson find the killer before he or she strikes again, things certainly aren't going the way she'd expected when she started her new life on the Isle of Man. Cars and Cold Cases Fenella Woods is nervous but eager to start driving lessons on the Isle of Man. Having never driven a manual transmission before, she quickly finds herself struggling with having to change gears with her left hand while sitting on what feels like the wrong side of the car and driving on what seems to be the wrong side of the road. Her friendship with CID Inspector Daniel Robinson is less stressful. He’s going through some cold cases and he asks her to share her thoughts. Daniel seems to think that she’ll have a different perspective on the investigations because she doesn’t know any of the people involved. He’s surprised to find that the first case he mentions, a missing person from thirty years earlier, involves Fenella’s new driving instructor. Fenella’s aunt Mona, who is either a ghost or a figment of Fenella’s imagination, has her own ideas about both the missing person and an unconnected thirty-year-old murder investigation that Daniel is also reopening. And of course, she’s eager for Fenella to get involved in both cases. Fenella isn’t sure she’s ready to try to deal with driving lessons, two cold cases, one nosy aunt, a kitten who needs surgery, and three different men who all appeal to her in very different ways. She knew her life was going to change when she moved to the Isle of Man, but she wasn’t anticipating quite this much excitement.

Why do I have to go to the principal’s office?” I’m walking side-by-side down the hallway with my second-period teacher. Students are huddled together staring and pointing at us like we’re zoo animals. When a teacher at Marcus Preparatory Academy escorts you to the principal’s office, it’s a big deal. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. I’m a good student. I never get in trouble. Mrs. Singletary won’t answer my questions or even look at me. I hope she knows she’s only making me more nervous. “Mrs. Singletary, please tell me what’s wrong?” “Just follow me. You’ll find out in a minute.” I’m about to ask her another question when it hits me. Something happened to my mama! My mama has been on and off drugs for as long as I can remember. I haven’t seen her in months and I don’t even know where she lives. No one does. I act like it doesn’t bother me, but it does. I’ve prayed to God a million times to get her off drugs. Even though my granny says God answers prayers, He hasn’t answered mine, so I stopped asking. I jump in front of my teacher, forcing her to stop. “Was there a death in my family, Mrs. Singletary? Did something happen to my mama?” “No, there wasn’t a death.” She swerves around me and keeps going. I have to take giant steps to keep up with her. Once we’re inside the main office, Mrs. Singletary points at a wooden chair outside Principal Keller’s office. “Have a seat and don’t move.” She goes into the principal’s office and closes the door. My head begins to throb like somebody’s banging on it from the inside. I close my eyes and try to calm down. I didn’t do anything wrong. It’s probably just—Oh snap! The picture! I slide down in the chair and pull my iPhone from my right pocket. My hands are trembling so bad I have to concentrate to keep from dropping it. I open the photos app and delete the last picture on my camera roll. If anyone saw that picture, I’d be screwed. Loud voices seep through the closed door. I lean forward, straining to hear. It almost sounds like Mrs. Singletary and Principal Keller are arguing. “It’s only an allegation. We don’t even know if it’s true.” “I don’t care. We have to follow protocol.
