Regarded as the architect of the Islamic empire, Omar established a model political structure that would hold together the growing empire for centuries.     This misleading call, which scholars have termed al-la madhhabiyya, was presented as ‘following the Quran and the Sunna’ and caused much confusion amongst ordinary muslims.
