Our Saviour Has Arrived

Elijah Muhammad - 1996
It eloquently delves into the subject of form and spirit in the simplest terms. The relationship of Jesus, Joseph and Mary is given a critical analysis as it relates to blacks in America. Dynamic emphasis on the deep theological aspects of the Supreme Wisdom. Our Saviour Has Arrived is not merely a great title for this book, nor should it be taken lighly as a volley over the bow. For thousands of years the people of most religions have been looking for the appearance of God and now, Messenger Elijah Muhammad hearlds that Our Saviour has Arrived and proceeds to prove it in theological, spiritual, metaphysical and historical terms. In the past it was simply a knee, jerk response to write the messenger of such a statement off and call it a day, but that type of day is over; for the level of wisdom contained in this book will not let that small time approach be tolerated. You must either bring your best arguments and "proofs" of thow in your hats or crowns!

He uses authentic sources while writing the books, that is why his books are appreciated by the scholars. In Kernel of the Kernel, Ṭabāṭabāʼī discusses the doctrinal foundations of spiritual wayfaring as well as processes and stages that an aspiring wayfarer must go through in order to attain spiritual realization. He discusses the relation between the exoteric and esoteric aspects of Islam and clearly demonstrates that these inward and outward dimensions of Islam complement each other. The book also provides information on the Qur'ānic origins of Sufism and its special relations with Shī'īsm as well as the role of Shī'ī Imams in the spiritual realization of a sincere wayfarer.“Aside from its historical and theological background, the Lubb al-Lubab or Kernel of the Kernel stands by itself as a masterpiece in the field of spirituality and gnosis. While naturally couched in the language and terminology of the Qur'ān and Hādīth, it conveys a message of universal order meant for all human beings.” — from the Foreword by Seyyed Hossein NasrSayyid Muḥammad Ḥusayn Ṭabāṭabāʼī (1901–1982) was a prominent Muslim scholar who taught Islamic philosophy, jurisprudence, ethics, and gnosis in the seminaries of Qum, Iran. Dream Interpretation According to the Qur'an and Sunnah

Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips - 1996
Indeed, the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) regularly practiced it, as well it is mentioned in the Holy Qur'an. However, today, it has become mixed up with superstition, myth, and fortunetelling that most educated Muslims shun this area. There is a real need to understand this subject, considering that humans spend about a third of their lives sleeping. Shattering the tales and fables currently in-vogue by other books on this topic, Dr. Philips separates the authentic Islamic teachings on dream interpretation from the myths, superstitions and fabrications being circulated on the subject. It also provides a guide for dream interpretation according to references found in the Qur'aan and authentic hadeeths. Discussed topics include the origin of dreams, sleep etiquette, legislative dreams, and general dreams. A highly interesting book to read, with heavy emphasis on correct interpretation and understanding, as learned from the Qur'an and Sunnah, and not conjecture.

Angels Unveiled: A Sufi Perspective

Shaykh Muhammad - 1996
As crystal water takes the form of the cup in which it is poured, angels can take the form of any creation which they visit. They do not retain their full original form of light when they are sent to human beings: "Say: If there were in the earth angels walking secure, We had sent down for them from heaven an angel [without change] as messenger" (17:95). Angels can come as birds, as human beings, or as a form of light like a rainbow adorning the sky. They have a mind and a heart, but no will and no desire other than to serve and obey God. They are never too proud to obey Him. Angels worship day and night without fatigue. They do not need to sleep, as their eyes never tire. They know no heedlessness. Their attention never wavers. Their food is glorification of God, their drink is to sanctify and to magnify Him. Their intimacy is in calling their Lord through hymning and singing His praise. Their enjoyment is to serve Him. They are devoid of any and all physiological restraints. They suffer no mood-changes. Angels inhabit Paradise and the seven heavens. They worship more than human beings because they came before them and they have greater and more powerful faculties than they. They are more pious than human beings because they are innocent and unable to fall into mistakes or wrongdoings. They never ask forgiveness for themselves but always for human beings. This shows us how much they care for us and to what extent God created them to look after us. God made them our guardians because a guardian is more perfect than the one he guards. Angels are more knowledgeable than human beings. The teacher, again, is better than the student. Their knowledge is of two kinds: intellectual and traditional. "Intellectual" means here: "of the essence of reality" or "of the heart." "Traditional" means: "revealed and translated down from above."

Addas also introduces the main disciples of Ibn Arabi down to the nineteenth century and traces both his unequalled influence on the course of Sufism and the controversies that still surround him till today.
