Hitler believes that the death of one man—Franklin Delano Roosevelt—will save Nazi Germany. From a prisoner of war camp near Fort Lewis, Washington, where 50,000 German soldiers are interned, Wehrmacht Captain Kurt Monck—a man of frightening resources with ruthless intelligence whose devious determination is sparked by Berlin’s orders via secret channels to escape the camp and head east. Monck’s trail is picked up by U.S. Secret Service agent John Wren, who hunts Monck as the German nears Franklin Roosevelt’s armored train en route to the Democratic Convention in Chicago. Monck’s only aid comes from his reluctant accomplice Margaret Bayerlein, a widow who provokes a haunting triangular relationship. Pursuit evokes the American home front during the war, as well as historic figures such as J. Edgar Hoover and President Roosevelt. The manhunt crosses the country, and Monck, Wren, and Roosevelt finally meet in an electrifying conclusion.Heart-pounding suspense for readers who love the taut thrillers of Jeffrey Deaver and Frederick Forsyth.“I simply could not put it down.” -- St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

More and more beginners are deciding to take their first steps and learn how to run. Opening the Seven Seals: The Visions of John the Revelator
Richard D. Draper - 2006
Richard D. Draper, a popular Education Week speaker, discusses the themes of Revelation, examining the book section by section. Some questions he addresses include: • What is apocalyptic literature? • What do the various beasts represent? • What is the significance of numbers and their use? • What are the differences and purposes of the seven seals, seven trumpets, and seven bowls? • How does the book testify of Jesus Christ and warn of Satan? • What does the book say about the last days, the Millennium, and the final judgment? Opening the Seven Seals will help the reader find the fulfillment of this promise: “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand” (Rev. 1:3).

How to Move to Canada: A Discontented American's Guide to Canadian Relocation
André Du Broc - 2016
If you or someone you know is discontented, distressed, or downright disturbed, maybe the Great White North is right for you, eh. But how much do you really know about Canada? Can you do a job that Canada needs (do you play hockey, drill for oil, or make poutine?)? Can you identify the best Canadian province for your lifestyle (lots of tundra or just some tundra?)? Can you master the proper pronunciation of "sorry"? What strange wizardry is the Canadian government? Is maple syrup acceptable substitution for currency? At long last, How to Move to Canada can help make your vague threat into a cold Canadian reality. This book is also full of activities such as: Color the flag of your new homeland Match the strange Canuck dialect with their local definitions And more! PLEASE NOTE: This is a humor book. It won't really help you emigrate. Rather, it's a subversive mix of real information on the Great White North plus a hilarious look at all the reasons why you won't like it there any better — and why they probably won't have you anyway.

A Reason for Faith: Navigating LDS Doctrine and Church History
Laura Harris Hales - 2016
Before the Internet, historical and doctrinal questions not addressed in LDS Church curriculum were mostly found in the scholarly articles of academic journals. This is no longer the case. These topics are now widely debated and discussed online and in other forums. And when members of the LDS Church come across information that is unfamiliar, they may feel surprise, fear, betrayal, or even anger. Laura Harris Hales has assembled a group of respected LDS scholars to offer help in A Reason for Faith: Navigating LDS Doctrine and Church History. Together these authors have spent an average of 25 years researching these topics. Their depth of knowledge and faith enables them to share reliable details, perspective, and context to both LDS doctrine and Church history. The information in these essays can begin an exciting process of discovery for readers as they learn from a source they can trust. Each chapter is engaging and thought-provoking, providing an invaluable resource for both the merely curious and the seriously concerned.
Woodworking: Woodworking Guide for Beginner's With Step-by-Step Instructions (BONUS - 16,000 Woodworking Plans and Projects): Woodworking (Crafts and Hobbies, ... How to and Home Improvement, Carpentry)
Ted Woodrow - 2015
I took a 2 week introduction to the fundamentals of fine woodworking at Boston’s North Bennet Street School. From there, I spent 3 years working at woodworking specialty retail stores, went to North Bennet full time for 2 more years, and set up shop as a custom furniture maker, which lasted for just over 7 years. Woodworking, on many levels, is an ongoing process of reduction and refinement: Big trees into big boards, into smaller boards, into smaller pieces. Grinding cutting tools, and then honing, and polishing the edges. Rough shaping, scraping and filing of wood, followed by coarse sanding, and on into finer grits. And, the progression of learning the rough basics, and the ongoing refining what you know, and what you can do. The purpose of this book is to provide a coarse introduction to getting into the hobby. I assume that you’ll seek out other sources of information as the need arises. Woodworking as a craft spans thousands of years, and I couldn’t hope to cover all that ground. Books have been published on the topic for centuries. Taunton Press started printing Fine Wood Working 40 years ago, and many other magazines have since come and gone, or showed up and stayed. And the internet, bless its tainted soul, has been ranting and raving at an exponential rate about just about anything for over 20 years. Information overload is a real risk, especially on the internet, and I can’t stress enough that it’s something to be careful of. But in the end, any real learning that occurs will happen at the bench, as you feel for yourself how your tools are working. You’ll understand more as you see how the project comes together. You’ll get better at visualizing objects, and processes, in three dimensions, as you make the things with your own hands. The printed word can only convey so much, and it doesn’t hold a candle to what your own two hands will tell you. Here Is A Preview Of What You'll Learn...
