    JL Tate, Mike Flynn, and Rubio will be stirring up plenty of dust and action. I have also included a short novel or what is called a novella. The novella features a youngster you haven’t met yet…. Me! Although I was much younger at the time this story took place, and I called myself of Eddy McElroy in this story. Almost all the anecdotes… the things I said and did were pretty much true as best I can remember. The story takes place on a little cotton farm in the Missouri Boot Heel. The time frame is 1944 – 1945 near the end of World War II. You probably have some idea of what to expect from JL Tate, Mike Flynn, and Rubio…plenty of action. But most of the time, I don’t even know what to expect from me. I call this collection, “Trails Less Traveled” because these are trails I’ve not traveled very often. I would work on the novella during the time between books, when I was supposed to be relaxing, and it took me about two years to finish. Ben Blue and Shad Cain are not going away; they are just taking a little break. In fact the next Ben Blue story is in the works now.
