I Got A Thang for A Street King
Trenae - 2018
Nothing ever was. From the sweet age of fourteen, her judgment in men was always horrible. Looking for the love that she was missing at home caused her to run into the wrong arms. Falling in love with the older, manipulative Dray was the mistake that led to her quick downward spiral. She knew from the start that their relationship wasn’t what she deserved. But what was she to do? She was a teenager in love with a man who had mastered the art of toying with emotions of women twice her age. Years later, with the help of her friend, Ju-Ju, Dae is ready to live life as a normal woman, but what she would encounter was nothing normal. In fact, Knight was a man like none that she had crossed paths with. Successful, charming, and sexy were just a few words used to describe Knight Bentley. With no warning, Dae was swooped off her feet and thrust into a world of lavish living, countless shopping sprees, late night sexcapades, and the adventure she had been dying for. The thing is, all of that came with a price. What she never banked on was the tenacious Ainsley being in the picture. While Dae is head over heels in love with Knight, that may not be enough in this case. Ainsley isn’t a woman who loses, and she doesn’t plan to lose to a woman like Charde. But what happens when Ainsley’s record isn’t as clean as she wants Knight to believe? Will Knight choose the woman who’s been by his side since his days as a street king, or will the woman who believes in his life after the streets win him over? In this series, you will find that family is just a word, and love truly overpowers everything. The problem is, loving the wrong person can get you killed.

Themes of Contemporary Art: Visual Art After 1980
Jean Robertson - 2005
Examining visual art from 1980 to the present, it takes an intriguing and accessible approach that motivates students and other readers to think actively about and discuss contemporary art--what it means and how it means what it does. The opening chapter provides a concise overview of the period, analyzing how four key changes (the rise of new media, a growing awareness of diversity, the influence of theory, and interactions with everyday visual culture) have resulted in an art world with dramatically expanded boundaries. Reflecting the paradigm shift from a formalist way of teaching studio art to more varied and open-ended concepts, the remaining six chapters each deal with a key theme--time, place, the body, language, identity, and spirituality. Each chapter features an introduction to the thematic topic; a brief look at historical precedents and influences; a detailed analysis of how contemporary artists have responded to and embodied aspects of the theme in specific works; and an in-depth and fascinating profile of an artist who has extensively explored aspects of the theme in his or her work. Themes of Contemporary Art: Visual Art after 1980 shows how art can be interpreted from several different angles: techniques and materials, historical circumstances, aesthetic qualities, theoretical issues, and an artist's ideas and intentions. Writing in a lucid and engaging style, the authors skillfully reveal the multiple levels of meaning in artworks, drawing connections between contemporary art, art of the past, and everyday existence. The volume is enhanced by 87 illustrations--19 in full color--that demonstrate an immense variety of materials, subjects, and styles. These well-chosen examples will help readers learn to critically describe, interpret, and evaluate contemporary visual art. A bibliography and a timeline that situates contemporary art in the context of major events in world history, art, and popular culture are also included. An ideal core text for courses in contemporary art history, Themes of Contemporary Art: Visual Art after 1980 can also be used as a supplement in modern art, art appreciation, art criticism/theory, and studio art courses.
Growth and characterization of a diluted magnetic semiconductor: Gallium Manganese Arsenide (GaMnAs).
Ravinder Singh
A significant amount of research and subsequent progress has been made in these fields. The advancement made in the understanding the underlying physics has enabled the development of several interesting applications. In these applications, semiconductors like Silicon, Gallium Arsenide exploit the charge of the electron and ferromagnetic materials make use of the spin of an electron. If these two interesting properties of semiconductors and ferromagnets can be used in conjunction, several exciting applications can be envisaged.;This new domain where such materials are being researched has been termed as Diluted Magnetic Semiconductors (DMS). The biggest challenge in the development of these materials was to put the idea into practical reality. The invention of a novel low-temperature epitaxial process in the late 1980's enabled the realization of the DMS concept and ushered a renewed interest throughout the scientific community.;Gallium Manganese Arsenide has been a test bed for understanding the underlying science behind DMS. A major challenge in the practical utility of DMS materials has been the very low Curie temperatures. The present thesis work discusses the experiments conducted at the Nanofabrication facility and the magneto-transport laboratory at the University of Arkansas. GaMnAs samples were grown using the LT-MBE process, and the samples were characterized using X-Ray analysis. A deeper insight into the magnetic and transport properties of these materials was acquired through low temperature SQUID and Hall Effect measurements.
