Holistic Tarot: An Integrative Approach to Using Tarot for Personal Growth

Benebell Wen - 2015
The tarot deck has been used as a divination tool for more than two centuries; while the tarot is still most commonly thought of as "fortune telling," the true power of the tarot lies in its ability to channel a clear path for our deep intuition to shine through. Consulting the tarot can help clear creativity blockages, clarify ambitions, work through complex decisions, and make sense of emotions and relationships. Whether used for simple decision-making or an understanding of your life's purpose, learning tarot can be an indispensible tool for being more mindful of the factors that can assist or weaken your efforts toward success. In Holistic Tarot, author Benebell Wen provides a complete guide to using the tarot to foster personal development. Wen gives a comprehensive overview of the history of the tarot and a wide array of theories on its use (including its relationship to Jungian archetypal psychology and traditional Chinese divination practices) before digging deeply into one of the best-known tarot systems, the Rider-Waite-Smith. Beginners will find a complete guide to working with the tarot, including choosing and caring for a deck, how best to learn and remember the attributes of the major and minor arcana, the interpretation of cards and spreads, the role of meditation in a tarot practice, and how to use the tarot for improving relationships, professional development, and personal resilience. More advanced practitioners will appreciate nuanced theoretical discussions of the tarot as well as practical advice about reading others' tarot cards and setting up a practice. Containing over 500 illustrations and detailed information on each card as well as numerous spreads, Holistic Tarot is a complete compendium of tarot study that every practitioner should have in his or her library.“A modern alchemical achievement.”—Barbara Moore, author of Tarot Spreads “Will become one of the jewels in the crown of tarot literature.” —Anthony Louis, MD, author of Tarot Beyond the Basics “A tarot classic.”—Sasha Graham, author of Tarot Diva“A magnificent, intelligent, comprehensive overview and innerview of the Rider Waite Smith system of tarot! This is the only guide you need to have. Bravo!” —James Wanless, PhD, author of Voyager Tarot“A huge accomplishment … likely to become the essential guidebook for serious students of the tarot.”— Joan Bunning, author of Learning the Tarot“No tarot enthusiast should be without this book!”—Chic and Tabatha Cicero, authors of The Golden Dawn Magical Tarot“Arguably the most comprehensive guide to tarot on the market today. It's also innovative: it deftly combines Eastern mysticism with Western metaphysics.      Thanks to the increasing popularity of Wicca, there has been a resurgence in interest in herb magic. With all of the readily available herbs – either store bought, grown, or foraged – herbal magic is one of the most accessible forms of magic of all, not to mention one of the most effective! If you’re looking to start practicing Wicca or Witchcraft (or you want to practice spellwork under a completely different umbrella!), herbal magic is one of the best starting points. Magical Properties of Herbs Going right back to the earliest recorded history, the healers, shamans, and other medicine men and women of the “old days” understood that herbs are useful for more than just nutrition and physical cures. But throughout history and across continents, all societies had working relationships with herbs and their magical properties. When you think about it, it’s little surprise that herbs are among the most powerful tools of magic. After all, plants embody the power of the four classical elements working together to create and sustain life – Earth (the soil), Fire (the Sun), Air (Oxygen), and Water (well, plants do need water!). Of course, not all herbs have the same magical properties. Some herbs, like lavender and cinnamon, are primarily used for matters of the heart. Others, including basil and sage, are called upon for protection spells. Throughout this book, you’ll learn about the magical properties of some of the most popular herbs, enabling you to use them effectively during spellwork. Wicca Herbal Magic: The Ultimate Beginner's Guide Many people are drawn towards Wicca through the concept of Witchcraft and magic, and the idea that we can positively change our circumstances. Wicca Herbal Magic was created to teach these people the whys and hows of herbal magic so that they can improve their lives in all the important areas – love, health, and wealth. You will discover 13 of the most popular (and readily available) herbs used by Witches today, plus each herb’s magical properties and magical associations. You will then be taught several practical tips for working with herbs. This includes how to buy, grow, or forage magical herbs; how to store them; and how to charge them for magical use. Finally, you will enjoy a selection of practical magic spells. This includes a variety of magical teas, magical baths, and magical creations. Wicca Candle Magic

Lisa Chamberlain - 2015
Wiccans and other Witches have long known that candles are a great tool for performing magic. Perhaps one of the oldest magical arts, candle magic is also the easiest and most simple form of magic for beginners to learn. This makes it the ideal starting point for anyone looking to start practicing Witchcraft. But, whether you’re Wiccan, Witch, or just curious about magic, you are more than welcome here! Learn the Principles of Magic Magic works because of a number of Hermatic Principles: by putting strong positive intentions out into the Universe, you can influence things on a higher plane of existence. In time, these changes will manifest themselves on the material plane -- the world that you and I both live. In other words, magic is a way to harness the unseen energy of the Universe into particular thoughtforms that work to effect a change in the physical world. And, if magic is the art of sending a particular thought into a higher plane to be manifested, candles make for particularly helpful “messengers!” This might all sound rather complex, but we’ll be exploring these principles in detail throughout this book to give you a solid grounding in candle magic. Wicca Candle Magic: The Ultimate Beginner's Guide Many people are drawn towards Wicca through the concept of Witchcraft and magic, and the idea that we can positively change our circumstances. Wicca Candle Magic was created to teach these people the whys and hows of candle magic, so that they can improve their lives in all the important areas – love, health, and wealth. By reading this book, you will learn about humans connection with fire throughout the ages, how candles are used in Wiccan spellwork, and the Hermatic Principles that make candle magic work. You will be taught how to choose the right type and color of candle, how to consecrate your candle (get them ready for performing magic), and practical tips for performing spellwork with candles. Finally, you will be provided with a selection of practical magic spells, each targeting a specific area of your life – including love, money, health, employment, and happiness. In other words, Wicca Candle Magic will teach you everything you need to know to start practicing candle magic, today! Would You Like to Know More? Prayers of Honoring

Pixie Lighthorse - 2015
Prayer, among other things, has become a private practice for those of us who don't congregate for spiritual purposes. Our language for connection to something greater than ourselves has become truncated to basic iterations and generalized affirmations. Perhaps this is so that no one will be offended by our approach, or so our spiritual personalities- who we are when we talk to and reach for God- can remain under a cloak of mystery and intrigue. Maybe it has something to do with our collective intolerance for vulnerability.Prayers of Honoring is an expression of creative, environmental, energetic and spiritual possibilities. When we're open to receive the heart's intelligence, we offer acceptance to ourselves and others and shift our patterns of isolation and loneliness. The challenge is to share ourselves and our words without fearing we're doing it wrong.Prayer is very much still a sullied concept. To some ears, the word "prayer" results in triggersome memories whether personal or cultural/collective. The bitter taste of yesterday's experiences of over-organized religions, forced practice, penance, rigid disciplines bearing harsh consequences, and heavy-handed authorities on the laws of God, leave little room for welcoming prayer back into the heart, home and psyche.Prayers of Honoring can help an individual overcome prayer trauma and begin to speak the words of spirit from the heart out loud again.

Lucifer: Princeps

Peter Grey - 2015
It is the first in a two volume work; the companion volume, Praxis, being an exposition of ritual actions, is due to be published in 2016.The fall of Lucifer, and that of the rebel angels who descended upon the daughters of men, comprise the foundation myth of the Western occult tradition. Lucifer: Princeps is a study of origins, a portrait of the first ancestor of witchcraft and magic. In tracing the genealogy of our patron and prince, the principles that underlie the ritual forms that have come down to us, through the grimoires and folk practices, are elucidated. The study draws on the extensive literature of history, religion and archaeology, engaging with the vital discoveries and advances of recent scholarship, which render previous works on Lucifer, however well intentioned, out of date. A concomitant exegesis of the core texts conjures the terrain and koine of the Ancient Near East, the cradle cultures and language of his nascence. Of critical importance are the effaced cultures and cults that lie behind the Old Testament polemics, viz. those of Assyria, Ugarit and Canaan, as well as Sumeria, Egypt and Greece; they provide the context that give meaning to what would otherwise be an isolated brooding figure, one who makes no sense without being encountered in the landscape.Intended to be the definitive text on Lucifer for the witch, magician and student of the grimoires, Princeps spans wingtip to wingtip from the original flood myth and legends of divine teachers to the Church Fathers, notably Augustine, Origen and Tertullian. The tales of the Garden of Eden, the Nephilim, of the fall of Helel ben Šahar and the Prince of Tyre, the nature of Azazel, and the creation of the Satan are drawn beneath the shadow of these wings into a narrative that binds Genesis and Revelation via the Enochian tradition. The story of the Serpent in the Garden and that of Lucifer are revealed to be a singular myth whose true significance had been lost and can now be restored. It illuminates the path to apotheosis, and the role of the goddess as the transforming initiatrix who bestows the crown.

Wicca Crystal Magic: A Beginner’s Guide to Practicing Wiccan Crystal Magic, with Simple Crystal Spells

Lisa Chamberlain - 2015
Since the beginning of recorded history, people have delighted in the beauty of naturally occurring crystals found deep in the Earth. The ancient peoples of Egypt, Greece, Rome, China, Japan, India, and South and Central America used crystals not just in amulets and other jewelry, but also in religious art, weaponry, and healing. Over the past several decades, the popularity of crystals in healing and the magical arts has seen a resurgence. This is especially true in Wiccan circles, with practitioners benefiting from the energetic power of crystals and stones during spellwork. This book is suitable for Wiccans, Witches, and anyone else who wants to learn more about magic. The Magic of Crystals Generally found inside larger masses of rock under the Earth’s surface, crystals and other mineral stones are used in magic for everything from protection to divination to manifesting wealth and love. Crystals work on the physical, emotional, and spiritual planes to effect positive change, rather than conventional medicine with its focus on the physical plane alone, so they are considered to be more holistic in their transformative effects than, say, an aspirin taken for a headache. There is a wide variety of information available about the healing powers of crystals, for physical and spiritual imbalances of all kinds. For example, chakra balancing is one major use for crystals, and some practitioners of Reiki, acupuncture, color therapy, and other energy healing techniques incorporate crystals into their work. Wiccans use crystals in a multitude of ways: we decorate our wands and pentacles with crystals; we use them to honor deities; we use them in amulets, talismans, and other ‘good luck’ charms. Not forgetting the main purpose of this very guide: crystals and stones are a powerful component of spellwork. Wicca Crystal Magic: The Ultimate Beginner's Guide Many people are drawn towards Wicca through the concept of Witchcraft and magic, and the idea that we can positively change our circumstances. Wicca Crystal Magic was created to teach these people the whys and hows of crystal magic, so that they can improve their lives in all the important areas – love, health, and wealth. By reading this book, you will learn about the human connection with crystals throughout the ages; the difference between crystals, stones, and minerals; and where crystals get their magical powers from. You will learn about the magical properties of many popular crystals; how to choose your own; and how to cleanse, clear, and charge your crystals. Finally, you will be provided with a selection of practical magic spells, each targeting a specific area of your life – including love, money, health, employment, and happiness. In other words, Wicca Crystal Magic will teach you everything you need to know to start practicing crystal magic, today! Would You Like to Know More? Wicca Covens: A Beginner's Guide to Covens, Circles, Solitary Practitioners, Eclectic Witches, and the Main Wiccan Traditions

Lisa Chamberlain - 2015
But what is it that has made these people turn their back on the formal, structured religions that encompass the majority of the Western world? In our modern, high-pressured world, many of us fail to take notice the sheer beauty of the natural world surrounding us. In many ways, this is a travesty: the world we live in today seems so completely distant from the one our ancestors lived in, a world where humans and nature were at one, their existence intertwined in the natural cycles of life. Wicca is a new way of life, a religion that takes you back to a more simple time, before the invention of the high-tech gadgetry we see all around us. You will learn to live and appreciate the natural world that surrounds you, celebrating the intricate changes in the seasons and everything they bring — from the bounties of the Summer harvest, to the cold and darkness of the Winter months, as Mother Nature rests in preparation for the next explosive cycle of life that Spring brings. Wicca is a re-incarnation of the very earliest religions, long pre-dating Christianity. Wiccans celebrate and share many of the same beliefs that these early people held, and try to embrace their way of life, all while remaining fully-functional in today's modern world. Getting Started as a Wiccan If you’re sold on this new, exciting, peaceful way of life, that’s great! Good to have you on-board. Unfortunately, and despite this commitment, this is where many people get stumped. One of the biggest questions I hear would-be Wiccans ask: “how do I start practicing Wicca?” The truth is, there is no right answer. If you endeavour to learn as much as possible about this religion, follow the core principals (for example, the Threefold Law), and revere the natural world surrounding you, as far as I’m concerned, you’re a Wiccan. If you’re just starting out, I’m sure this vague answer is of little help to you! That’s why I set out to write this mini-series of books, titled Practicing the Craft. In this particular book, you’ll learn everything you need to know about Wicca traditions – including covens, circles, solitary practitioners, and eclectic witches. Wicca Covens and Other Traditions Practicing magic isn’t compulsory for Wiccans, however many people are inevitably attracted to the religion by the potential to positively change their lives for the better. As such, spellwork is one of the most discussed parts of being Wiccan. If you want to start practicing magic, it can help to join like-minded individuals – also known as a coven. Covens allow you to be a part of a small Wiccan community. They meet regularly to perform rituals, especially on important Wiccan dates – notably the sabbats and esbats. As well as a sense of community, covens are also one of the best places to accelerate your learning. In this book, we’ll be looking at everything you need to know about covens – including the history of covens, their structures, and how to join one. Don’t worry, though – not everyone wants to be part of a coven, and that’s perfectly fine, too. In this book, we’ll be discussing all of your options, including circles and the solitary path. We'll also look at the main Wiccan traditions: Gardnerian, Alexandrian, and Dianic, as well as a handful of less common traditions.

Good to have you onboard. Unfortunately, and despite this commitment, this is where many people get stumped. One of the biggest questions I hear would-be Wiccans ask: “how do I start practicing Wicca?” The truth is, there is no right answer. If you endeavour to learn as much as possible about this religion, follow the core principles (for example, the Threefold Law), and revere the natural world surrounding you, as far as I’m concerned, you’re a Wiccan. If you’re just starting out, I’m sure this vague answer is of little help to you! That’s why I set out to write this mini-series of books, titled Practicing the Craft. In this particular book, you’ll learn everything you need to know about Wicca altars and tools. Wicca Altar and Tools: The Ultimate Beginner's Guide Practicing magic isn’t compulsory for Wiccans, however many people are inevitably attracted to the religion by the potential to positively change their lives for the better. As such, spellwork is one of the most discussed parts of being Wiccan. If you want to start practicing magic, it can help to have a dedicated place for your spellwork – a Wicca altar. There are also numerous “tools” and supplies Wiccans commonly use in their magic. In this book, I’ll be introducing you to them all, as well as explaining what each is for. Don’t worry – you won’t have to rush out and spend your money acquiring all the relevant tools. Most tools are completely optional, so it’s up to you which ones you want or need. Many can be sourced from nature or acquired relatively cheaply, too. We will also be discussing some of the more popular ingredients used in spells, as well as (optional) attire for rituals. Finally, we’ll be taking a look at how you know a particular tool is right for you, as well as preparing the tool for spellwork by removing any negative energies – in a process known as clearing and consecrating.

The Benighted Path: Primeval Gnosis and the Monstrous Soul

Richard Gavin - 2015
Its stalkers do not march the linear road of human progress but instead orient their souls to the luminous, haunted darkness of the Night Primeval. Many have glimpsed this eerie dimension, when sleep has delivered them onto the back of the charging Night-Mare, and recollections of these brief visitations survive in countless tales of terror and in the folklore of locales rumoured to be fey or cursed. Rare, however, is the individual who willingly pays the tariff and passes irretrievably through that twilight of existence in order to become Benighted. As an exponent of a genuine left-hand tradition Richard Gavin guides the reader on a katabasis into the dark realms of chaos where atavistic powers and daemonic initiation await the wayfarer in all forbidden splendor. Drawing on the shadow aspects of a variety of traditions, including the Death Cult of Ancient Egypt, Heathen biocentrism and folklore as well as David Beth’s pan-daemonic Gnosis, he distills them through his own initiatic esoteric praxis of more than two decades. The Benighted Path is an intense exploration in theory and practice of liminal and qliphotic in-between spaces through which surge the counter-currents that awaken the aspirant’s true Monstrous Soul. Only so empowered the Benighted may offer their adoration to the Gorgon and partake of the Sidereal Feast.Enriched by appropriate conjurations, ritual instructions and a treatise on the Faustian pact this work is indispensable for any serious students and practitioners of the Left Hand Path.

It also explores the Four Keys, which include the importance of understanding mythical cosmology and psychology, understanding the role of energy in trance, the nature of spirits and deity, and understanding what trance is and the techniques involved. And kept the vampires from needing to feed on human blood. With such powerful allies living among them, they could create search and rescue teams to help bring in those who were being hunted. And with so many successful rescues in recent times, the leaders of Hartman House needed to find the secret to the spell over the house. Dictionary of Ancient Magic Words and Spells: From Abraxas to Zoar

Claude Lecouteux - 2015
They have become part of the popular imagination of the Western world. Passed down from ancient Babylon, Egypt, and Greece, these words and the rituals surrounding them have survived through the millennia because they work. And as scholar Claude Lecouteux reveals, often the more impenetrable they seem, the more effective they are. Analyzing more than 7,000 spells from the magical traditions of Europe as well as the magical papyri of the Greeks and recently discovered one-of-a-kind grimoires from Scandinavia, France, and Germany, Lecouteux has compiled a comprehensive dictionary of ancient magic words, phrases, and spells along with an in-depth exploration--the first in English--of secret magical alphabets, including those based on Hebrew letters, Kabbalistic symbols, astrological signs, and runes. Drawing upon thousands of medieval accounts and famous manuscripts such as the Heptameron of Peter Abano, the author examines the origins of each word or spell, offering detailed instructions on their successful use, whether for protection, love, wealth, or healing. He charts their evolution and derivations through the centuries, showing, for example, how spells that were once intended to put out fires evolved to protect people from witchcraft. He reveals the inherent versatility of magic words and how each sorcerer or witch had a set of stock phrases they would combine to build a custom spell for the magical need at hand. Presenting a wealth of material on magical words, signs, and charms, both common and obscure, Lecouteux also explores the magical words and spells of ancient Scandinavia, the Hispano-Arabic magic of Spain before the Reconquista, the traditions passed down from ancient Egypt, and those that have stayed in use until the present day.

The Book of Oberon: A Sourcebook of Elizabethan Magic

Daniel Harms - 2015
The Book of Oberon is the meticulous transcription and translation of a sixteenth-century manuscript acquired by the esteemed Folger Shakespeare Library. Unlike the more theoretical magic books of the era, this collection of spells, secrets, and summonings was compiled gradually by unknown authors for working practical magic. Now published in a premium hardcover edition retaining the original's red lettering of significant words and holy names, The Book of Oberon includes rituals for summoning a long list of spirits and faeries (including Oberion, Fairy King and close relation to Shakespeare's Oberon); original drawings; common prescriptions used by cunning folk; instructions for dealing with Goetic demons that were censored in other texts; one of the oldest known copies of the magical manual The Enchiridion; and much more. This is a significant contribution to the annals of magical history, bringing to light the kind of grimoire that was commonplace in its era but is rarely published today.

Two Augusts In a Row In a Row

Shelley Marlow - 2015
Set in New York City in 2001, we follow Phillip—a gender subversive drag king in search of grace and magic—through rich, sad, humorous language that is singularly Shelley Marlow's. Kevin Killian writes, "I've been dying for something first rate and innovative and have found this in Marlow's writing. Her hero, Phillip/Philomena...is the most enchanting and elusive central character in a novel since Cassandra in Dodie Smith's I Capture the Castle. While many have compared Marlow to the late Jane Bowles, I would agree if only there was a loving and empathetic Jane Bowles, and now there is and here is her book.

Gateways Through Stone and Circle

Ashen Chassan - 2015
This volume is a complete and in-depth study in the "Art of Drawing Spirits into Crystals" as found in Francis Barrett's, The Magus, and accredited to Trithemius of Spanheim. Detailed research, personal experimentation, and evoking each of the seven planetary archangels and intelligences to visible and auditory presence are presented within. You will find descriptions of the seven planetary archangels as witnessed by the author, instructions for building each of the traditional implements and furniture to the specifications of the grimoire, as well as detailed illustrations of the author's actual equipment. Items such as the infamous Book of Spirits or Liber Spirituum are explained in detail so the reader will know how to make and use one. Chapters also describe methods for improving scrying abilities, working with a partner, and conducting the entire ceremony from beginning to end. Everything to make this art work is explained in incredibly vivid detail. The purpose for this book is to present a workable manual wherein the aspiring magus can replicate a valuable system of magic to achieve successful and reliable discourse with some of the most powerful beings in the cosmos. "No other book has unveiled how to perform this experiment successfully within the traditional manner." This work is not a theoretical analysis of a historic manuscript from an academic scholar, nor is it based on presumption and guess work. It is a modern day grimoire from a traditional grimorist. It is drawn from one who has been studying and practicing Western occult magic for nearly two decades and has recreated the procedures that achieve results. The methods contained within are constructed as closely to the original text as possible and filled with suggestions and points to assist the beginning magician as well as the advanced practitioner.

The Flame in the Cauldron: A Book of Old-Style Witchery

Orion Foxwood - 2015
Thousands of selfidentified witches, pagans, and magical practitioners embrace the word, but seldom go beyond the practice of the wellaccepted and learned forms of "traditional" witchcraft to explore the path of oldwitchery. Orion Foxwood invites readers to walk on the path of oldstyle witchery, a naturebased practice that is as old as the swamps and as wild as the woods. For the first time, Foxwood reveals some of his own deeply personal rituals and spells directly from his own grimoire of witchery; he highlights the differences (and similarities) between Wicca, "traditional" witchcraft, and old style witchery. By weaving his own path to witchery throughout the book, he gives readers examples of how to identify the way toward this path. There is a revolution among the Pagan and Witchcraft communities, a movement away from prescribed ritual and neopagan practices and a reaching back toward what Foxwood says is in the heart of any true witch: a thundering call deep within their very blood to become a healer, a reckoner, a protector of magical arts, and a guardian of the wild woods.

Brittany Wood Nickerson - 2015
Our bodies go through the same cycles as the earth, daily, monthly, and yearly. The herbal homestead is a place to practice this art of living that we have become so disconnected from and to consequently reconnect with the cycles around and within us. Connecting and reconnecting with these processes is empowering, enlivening, energizing, and it builds confidence and trust in yourself and your body. Confidence and trust are major markers of health, so this way of life can put us right on our path to health. Herbal homesteading is a call to connect with ourselves, with our own healthcare, and with nature and plants. This connection can make us feel at home— at home within ourselves, at home in nature, and at home in the spaces where we make medicine, heal, and connect with others. You can create an herbal homestead to any extent and be successful, you do not have to have land, a garden, a plethora of herbs, an education in herbal medicine. You can embrace this worldview one day or month at time, plant by plant, one act of self care to the next. You can create your herbal homestead from your urban apartment, you can learn about nature’s processes and the life cycle of plants from the weeds growing through the cracks in the sidewalk —all of these cycles are created equally.

The 72 Angels Of The Name: Calling On the 72 Angels of God (Sacred Names Book 2)

Baal Kadmon - 2015
We will not be using any fancy and complicated rituals. With all due respect to those who plan elaborate rituals, the rituals end up being more of a distraction. The angels do not require certain hours of day or night or certain colors or garb. They are not human that they require such trivialities. Do you think an angel with a limitless mind requires such limited and minute actions to get its attention? I know this may completely contradict what you have heard, but logically, this is so. If you are looking for elaborate rituals, you will be disappointed in this book. This book is for people who want a direct connection. Not those who wish to mire themselves in complexity that in actually, is contrived. We know where many of those rituals in all those Grimores come from and I assure you, the complexities are formalities only and not necessary for deep connection with these angels. With that, In this book, we will go into the significance of the 72 names of God and then proceed to the names of the angels. And finally, how to call upon them to help you.

The Thriving Adolescent: Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Positive Psychology to Help Teens Manage Emotions, Achieve Goals, and Build Connection

Louise L. Hayes - 2015
Will they pass high school? Should they go to college? Will they find love? And what ways do they want to act in the world? The uncertainty surrounding the future can be overwhelming. Sadly, and all too often, if things don’t go smoothly, adolescents will begin labeling themselves as losers, unpopular, unattractive, weird, or dumb. And, let’s not forget the ubiquitous ‘not good enough’ story that often begins during these formative years. These labels are often carried forward throughout life. So what can you do, now, to help lighten this lifelong burden? The Thriving Adolescent offers teachers, counselors, and mental health professionals powerful techniques for working with adolescents. Based in proven- effective acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), the skills and tips outlined in this book will help adolescents and teens manage difficult emotions, connect with their values, achieve mindfulness and vitality, and develop positive relationships with friends and family. The evidence-based practices in this book focus on developing a strong sense of self, and will give adolescents the confidence they need to make that difficult transition into adulthood. Whether it’s school, family, or friend related, adolescents experience a profound level of stress, and often they lack the psychological tools to deal with stress in productive ways. The skills we impart to them now will help set the stage for a happy, healthy adulthood. If you work with adolescents or teens, this is a must-have addition to your professional library.

Ritual Offerings

Aaron Leitch - 2015
Spirits are the very heart and soul of all magick. A consecrated talisman has a spirit attached to it that contributes to the talismans power, the incantations we use work because the spirits heard them and acted. We are not alone when cast cast our spells; our patrons and familiars are always present present casting the spells with us.Throughout history, ritual offerings have been the central pillar of all magick and religion. Very often, a magickal ritual consists of nothing more than the making of a prescribed offering to a particular spirit in a specified time and place, yet here in the West, the making of an offering has been equated with the worship of the spirit receiving it. The act of offering a spirit something as payment for services rendered has a close association with the dreaded “pact with the Devil,” by which a magician surely sells his soul to damnation, but to the rest of the world an offering is intended to feed and empower a spiritual entity, and to pay it fairly for its aid.The art of making proper offerings to the spirits is a complex one, rife with strict protocols and warnings, but if you take the time to learn this ancient and powerful art, it will supercharge your magick like nothing you’ve experienced before.Strictly Limited to 900 numbered copies and filled with over 280 pages of essays and actual photos of author’s ritual altars, Ritual Offerings unites twelve practicing occultists who share their knowledge and experience with this fascinating and important subject. Traditions from around the world such as Solomonic magick, Tibetan Buddhism, New Orleans and Hatian Voudou, Western Hermetic Theurgy and more are discussed in great detail. Regardless of your tradition, Ritual Offerings will guide you in feeding your patrons and familiars safely and effectively and contribute to our overall success and growth as a practitioner.Contributors Include:Aaron Leitch: Introduction: Magickal Offerings in Western OccultismAaron Leitch: Liber Donariorum: the Book of OfferingsZadkiel: The Elements of Making Offerings: The Offering as SacrificeBryan Garner (Frater Ashen Chassan): Whispers from a Skull: Lessons in Spiritual Offerings from a Conjured FamiliarBrother Moloch: Ancestors & OfferingFrater Rufus Opus: The Back Yard Path toward the Summum BonumDenise M. Wicca Spells: A Beginner's Guide to Casting Wiccan Magick Spells to Attract Love, Wealth, Health, Divination, and Protection

Desmond Wilde - 2015
Wicca holds a rich tradition of natural and supernatural solutions to the problems which people face. Sometimes referred to as magic, magick, witchcraft, or the occult, Wicca is just one branch of the kind of thinking which intrigues and fascinates so many people. With such a long history of research and practice, Wicca has the potential to empower you with the kind of abilities which you might have never imagined. Those who have devoted their lives to the art have developed an understanding which allows them to research and teach others about the long history of one of the world’s favorite branches of magick. For those who are interested in entering the world of Wicca, this guide is designed to provide you with an armory of introductory spells which can be used by beginner practitioners right away. This guide is full of the knowledge which has been accrued over the last millennia to provide you with a great starting point. Because of this, we have put together a guide which is easy for both the beginner to the world of magick and those who do not have the time to learn archaic old English. You might have expected the spells, hexes, and various elements to be written in an older form of language. This is a common misconception. For the modern witch, the exact words are not the true focus for invoking and willing the spiritual world. Instead, far more important is the feeling which the words elicit. By providing the updated language of these introductory spells, we hope that those new to Wicca will be able to get a great grasp of the basics of magic without having to dedicate themselves to learning the twisted and complicated nature of medieval witchcraft. Inside you will find: • A detailed description of the equipment you will need for casting spells; • How to prepare and be mentally ready to perform spells and magick; • Love spells including a spell to conjure romantic interest; • Wealth spells such as a simple Wiccan money spell; • Protective spells like a spell to guard against negative spirits and tips and tricks for protection using Wicca; • Healing spells as a healing spell using light; • Divination spells that uses a scrying mirror or candles; • Learn to construct your own scrying mirror! Included are other fascinating examples of psychopomp practices of indigenous peoples from around the world.Death Walkers shares compelling stories and evidence for why there are ghosts around us and the important role shamans play in guiding these earthbound souls to their final resting places."Drawing on first-hand accounts and cross-cultural research, David Kowalewski offers us an engaging Western perspective on the art and methods of the psychopomp ..." --Bill Plotkin, PhD, author of Soulcraft"This is an important book for the times we live in, for as people die more consciously, the more conscious the earth becomes." --Sandra Ingerman, MA, author of Soul Retrieval

The Treasure of the Tuatha De Danann: a dual language collection of Irish myth

Morgan Daimler - 2015
Each story is first presented in the original Old Irish and then in English so that a reader can experience the story as it existed in the original before reading a new translation. Many of the existing translations are around a hundred years old, and often either exclude material or else skew the retelling to fit the mores of a more Victorian audience. The translations included here in stories including Angus's Dream to the Taking of the Sidhe are an attempt to find a balance between a more literal translation that is still enjoyable to an English speaking audience. All material focuses on the stories of the Irish Gods, the Tuatha De Danann.

Magickal Attack: Silence, Bind and Crush Your Enemies With The Art of Occult Warfare

Gordon Winterfield - 2015
Difficult people make life unbearable. Whether you're dealing with a cruel boss, a bully or a gossip, you need freedom and peace. With the dark magick in this book you can silence, bind and curse the people that have made you unhappy. People are jealous, petty and cruel, and their mean-spirited actions are holding you back. Use magick to be untouched by the heartless. The eldest member of The Gallery of Magick, Gordon Winterfield, has a lifetime of experience dealing with troublesome people. He says, 'You can turn the other cheek, but why should you? It is your divine right to remove people who get in the way of your true will.' Using angels and demons, Magickal Attack gives you a fast, safe way to take control of those who try to run your life. Winterfield goes on to say, 'If you have courage, you have the opportunity to use magick to go on the attack and silence those who would spread lies; bind those who would spread malice; crush those who would do you harm.' The magick presented here is unique. Derived from tradition and refined in the furnace of experience, these dark workings have never been made public before. Without any complicated ceremonies, Winterfield has developed a magickal system that gets your commands to the demons without any danger to yourself. You will discover: A Ritual To Wield Power that keeps you safe. Rituals to find enemies, foil plans and send torment. Magick to silence gossip and lies. A powerful binding ritual to stop an enemy from causing harm. The Master Curse, to punish without restraint. The ritual to end a relationship. The book also covers Disruption Magick, used to confuse, weaken or make others leave you undisturbed. Most importantly, the book concludes with a peace ritual, which can be used to prevent a fight from ever taking place or to bring commanding peace when you are victorious. When you gain control over those who have chosen to hurt you, you are executing an act of justice. There is great spiritual growth to be found in this dark magick, as well as the peace that you deserve.

The Way of the Wise: Traditional Norwegian Folk and Magic Medicine

J.T. Sibley - 2015
But back in the “good old days”, folks worried about infected cuts and slashes, internal diseases, parasites, and a whole variety of ailments which are perfectly treatable or preventable by means of modern medicine. Folks rarely lived long enough to suffer from a long, slow disease; heck, just staying alive to see one’s fortieth birthday was considered a feat. Even as late as the 19th century, medicine was pretty medieval to our way of looking at it. There were no wonder drugs, no X-ray or CAT scans, no hospitals as we know them today, and spotty training of medical professionals. The dentist was feared, and quack nostrums were sold by the case by traveling snake-oil salesmen. Many of those nostrums contained relatively innocuous ingredients, but some were downright dangerous, especially those incorporating psychoactive alkaloids, heavy metals or raw isotopes. Mercury or radium were primary ingredients in some quack medicinal “cures” even into the early 20th century. And in rural areas, the old “magic medicine” was still practiced by generations of folks who passed on these traditions and lore to their students and/or children. Much of the material presented in this volume has already been documented and published in the Norwegian language by scholars and folklorists, such as Ingjald Reichborn-Kjennerud, Nils Lid, Hjalmar Falk, Olav Bø, O.A. Høeg, Per Holck, Odd Nordland, Chr. Bang, and A. Steen, among others. There has been a growing interest in folklore, folk medicine, and the “old ways” in recent years, and this volume is an attempt to present a part of this lore to the English-speaking audience."

Nic Cheeseman - 2015
Nic Cheeseman grapples with some of the most important questions facing Africa and democracy today, including whether international actors should try and promote democracy abroad, how to design political systems that manage ethnic diversity, and why democratic governments often make bad policy decisions. Beginning in the colonial period with the introduction of multi-party elections and ending in 2013 with the collapse of democracy in Mali and South Sudan, the book describes the rise of authoritarian states in the 1970s; the attempts of trade unions and some religious groups to check the abuse of power in the 1980s; the remarkable return of multiparty politics in the 1990s; and finally, the tragic tendency for elections to exacerbate corruption and violence.

Wicca Book of Shadows: A Beginner's Guide to Keeping Your Own Book of Shadows and the History of Grimoires

In this particular book, you’ll learn everything you need to know about Wicca Book of Shadows – what they are, their history, and what to include in your own Book of Shadows. Wicca Book of Shadows Practicing magic isn’t compulsory for Wiccans, however many people are inevitably attracted to the religion by the potential to positively change their lives for the better. As such, spellwork is one of the most discussed parts of being Wiccan. For those wanting to start practicing magic, keeping a Book of Shadows is a good starting point. A Book of Shadows is the ideal place to document your Wiccan journey, write down detailed spell outlines, and write any other information that may help you going forward. Because it contains all of your spells, many Wiccans will take their Book of Shadows into the circle during spellwork, too. Having a beautiful, leather-bound book will make the spell crafting process far more authentic – though you can use any book you like for constructing your own book. Due to the contents, many Wiccans are very private about their Book of Shadows. As such, you will probably want to take proactive steps towards protecting your book. This guide includes several privacy tips, as well as a dedicated spell for protecting your book.

Komos: Celebrating Festivals in Contemporary Hellenic Polytheism

Sarah Kate Istra Winter - 2015
We struggle to maintain an authentic connection to tradition while creating relevant practices which reflect our own relationships to the gods and spirits, as well as to the lands where we live now. Many of us are doing this alone or with only a few other people, unable to achieve the lavish processions, competitions or revels of times past. And yet our desire to honor the gods, explore themes such as purification, fertility and renewal, and mark the sacred progression of the year, remains as strong as ever.Komos first explains the nature of ancient Greek festivals and the reasons they were observed, before moving forward to offer ways in which the same ideas and motivations can be expressed through modern celebrations. Special attention is given to crafting a localized and individualized practice that both fulfills religious obligations and results in personal enjoyment and spiritual connection. The lunar calendar is explained, along with other approaches to timing and selecting dates. All the significant elements of Hellenic festivals are discussed in detail with suggestions for how each can be included today. To educate and inspire the reader in the process of creating a complete festival calendar, many ancient examples are referenced, along with a few compatible modern folk festivals, and accounts of some of the author’s own experiences. Finally, advice is given for navigating issues such as budgetary restrictions, multi-tradition households, and what to do when things go wrong. If you have been wanting to add festivals to your spiritual practice but weren’t sure where to begin, or if you just need some ideas to supplement your existing celebrations, this book can help. May you find within these pages the spark that lights your torches for many festivals to come.

Hexen 2.0 Tarot

Suzanne Treister - 2015
The HEXEN 2.0 Tarot is a 78 card tarot deck designed by artist Suzanne Treister and was originally published alongside the book HEXEN 2.0.The HEXEN 2.0 Tarot features 78 alchemical drawings depicting interconnected histories of the computer and the Internet, cybernetics and the counterculture, science-fiction and scientific projections of the future, government and military research programmes, social engineering and ideas of the control society; alongside diverse philosophical, literary and political responses to the advance of technology including the claims of anarchoprimitivism, technogaianism, and transhumanism.Through representing and re-examining these subjects and histories through the lens of occult belief systems and ideas of the supernatural, the HEXEN 2.0 Tarot takes us to a hypnotic, mesmerising space from where one may imagine and construct possible alternative futures.Acknowledging precedents such as the traditional tarot deck, The Rider-Waite Tarot Deck and Aleister Crowley’s Thoth Tarot Deck, Suzanne Treister has here produced a new Tarot, that allows a reader, or a group of readers working collaboratively, to use the cards to reconfigure history and/or map out hypothetical future narratives.

The Witch's Oracle

Marla Brooks - 2015
The symbolism and messages remind us to embrace the positive, rather than dwell on the negative. Each card includes a magickal incantation that provides energy, reinforces the card's meaning, and helps the message desired to be sent out into the universe. This deck can be used in conjunction with the Tarot or other oracles for clarification in readings when messages seem inconclusive or cryptic. A perfect divination deck for Witches and non-Pagans alike, it is for both seasoned readers and beginners.

Verdant Gnosis: Cultivating the Green Path

Catamara Rosarium - 2015
Viridis means 'green, verdant, growing'--all that is lush and nourishing; while genii is the origin of the words 'genius' and 'genie'--the spirit, daemon, or guiding intelligence of an entity. Viridis Genii--the verdant gnosis--is thus the spiritual path of working with the intelligence of living nature.Within this volume you will find a selection of international authorities on the Green Way, ranging from professional plant alchemists, shamanic herb-masters, to bioregional animists. Herein you will learn the ways in which you can communicate deeply with the mysterious intelligence of the plant kingdom, breaking down the barriers of anthropocentric thinking that separate humanity from nature.Introduction --Catamara Rosarium and Jenn Zahrt, PhDGreen Gold: Alchemy in the Plant Realm --Robert Allen BartlettThe Genius in the Bottle: Bioregional Animism and the Viridis Genii --Marcus McCoyPlant Communication: Two Relatively Simple Approaches --Sean CrokeThe Wisdom of the Trees --Julie Charette NunnBenedicaria: The Blessing Way of Southern Italian Folk Woman --Gail Faith EdwardsUm ClarAo nas Matas: Working with Plant Spirits in Brazilian Quimbanda --Jesse Hathaway DiazDream Grass --Ryan WazkaTwenty-First Century Visionary Medicine Woman --Shonagh HomeThe Rose in Sensorium --Catamara Rosarium
