Slice and Dice
Jeff Strand - 2021
Desperate to win back his father’s approval, the boy hatches a plan involving his father’s love of slasher films. If the boy can become a real-life slasher right out of the movies, it just might be an opportunity to make his father proud again, no matter what the cost.In Iain Rob Wright’s “The Reckoning,” the year is 2035 and people live inside their individual worlds. Amelie’s ‘pod’ is a marvel of tech-centric existence, taking care of her every need. But when a serial killer that the press have named ’The Reckoning’ comes calling for Amelie, her futuristic living space turns deadly. In William Malmborg's "Billy's Blade," a budding serial killer bites off more than he can chew when he tries to stab Stacy Collins to death on the Prairie Path. A ruthless investigative journalist, Stacy goes on the offensive, goading the killer with unflattering articles, all in hopes of sparking a second encounter. Will Billy and Stacy meet again?Jeff Strand’s “Twentieth Anniversary Screening” recounts the grisly events surrounding the terrible slasher flick THE ROOFER, remembered only because an obsessed fan tried to reenact the murders as they played out on the screen. When the same theater shows the film twenty years later, will the warnings that this is a really, really bad idea be justified?

Vernon House
Sandra Farris - 2014
She wanted this old Victorian for herself. The rumors the house was haunted didn’t bother Jennifer, who is a skeptic by nature. But her skepticism turns to intrigue when she finds a letter dated 1909 in the attic tucked into the folds of a wedding dress. The letter mentions a murder, but no name of the victim and is signed with only initials. Jennifer's challenge is to track down the identity of the victim, as well as the killer. However, her research brings forth two spirits, one of which is evil.
50 Real Ghost Stories
M.J. Wayland - 2012
That is my rule of thumb. After investigating ghost experiences for nearly thirty years, I realised that the finely polished stories told by storytellers and “ghost walkers” were exactly that – polished. In polishing stories we lose the personality of the haunted and indeed the haunter itself, that’s why in my books, research papers and articles, I always maintain the original testaments and facts. The stories that I have collected for you now are rough diamonds, totally unpolished and any additions by myself are kept to a minimum and noted clearly. As I began to compile these stories I began to realise that I was actually becoming very affected by them and I am sure you will too. There is no doubt you will have your favourites once you have read the book, but mine are as follows. One of the standout stories for me, is “The Ghost with no mouth” – a series of terrifying experiences in a modern house in which the witness’s child describes the ghost as having “no mouth and wears black boots but is naughty”. The experiences were very real to the family involved, and you wonder if “Black Square” continues to haunt this dwelling.Another story “The Mystery Lady” is downright creepy, a man encounters a strange woman on a deserted train station, she mumbles to herself and refuses to get on board the last train to Portsmouth. The next day he discovers that he was actually talking to a ghost! I spare you the details so not to spoil the story, but you will certainly have a chill! In total there are fifty real experiences with ghosts and spirits included in this book and all direct from the witnesses themselves. None of them wanted their names publishing or any publicity about their experiences but all of them had the need to share, and share they have done."
Echoes of a Haunting: A House in the Country
Clara M. Miller - 1999
Do not expect the "usual" tale filled with blood running down the walls, demons jumping out of closets, heads pivoting while spewing pea soup or seances with levitating mediums. Instead, the horror that lived in the House in the Country began slowly and quietly. It gradually built in intensity until living there became unbearable. The author's family, normal by any criteria, began to earn an unfair reputation as "devil worshipers" and "kooks". Despite efforts by various psychics and clergymen to ease the pressure, the house eventually won. When emotional and psychic shocks turned to physical threats, it became impossible to stay. The book attempts, in diary form, to trace the trajectory of the "haunting".

Monkspike: You Are Not Forgiven
S.E. England - 2019
During the reign of King Stephen laws were lax, and landowners exacted high tithes from peasants forced to hand over their produce or face torture. One sector in society however, did not have to pay, and those were the monks. A fact which enraged local tyrant, Baron John Rivers. Today, nearly 900 years later, the forest village of Monkspike sits brooding. There is a sickness here passed down through ancient lines, one which is noted and deeply felt by Sybil Massey, the new psychologist. What is wrong with nurse, Belinda Sully's, son? Why did her husband take his own life? Why are the old people in Temple Lake Nursing Home so terrified? And what are the lawless inhabitants of nearby Wolfs Cross hiding? It is a dark village indeed, but one which has kept its secrets well. That is until local girl, Kezia Elwyn, returns home as a practising Satanist, and resurrects a hellish wrath no longer containable. Burdo, the white monk, will infect your dreams....This is pure occult horror and definitely not for the faint of heart...
