In World War II it spent more consecutive days in combat than almost any other outfit.      With 26 victories to his name, he became the first pilot to equal Eddie Rickenbacker’s American World War I record.      After the TET offensive of 1968, the North Vietnamese Army forces fled back to their base camps in the jungle covered mountains where they lived, trained and prepared their attacks.
