Parents Who Love Reading, Kids Who Don't: How It Happens and What You Can Do About It

Mary Leonhardt - 1993
They're the kids who don't just do their homework, but pick up books and magazines to read for pleasure. Yet even parents who love to read sometimes find that their kids don't enjoy books. Now, Mary Leonhardt shows how to awaken, or reawaken, a child to the joy of reading. She even identifies the seven stages that children go through as they develop their reading skills and outlines what parents can do to help them along. Her advice is clear, down-to-earth, and proven effective.

Is Heaven for Real? Personal Stories of Visiting Heaven

Patrick Doucette - 2013
They are all sincere; they all had a story to tell and they attempted to share their experience to the best of their ability. They each have unique aspects even though they share some similarities. Some of these stories will likely resonate and encourage and inspire you. Some may be difficult to relate to or to understand; if that is the case, I would suggest you skip that particular story for the time being and move on to the next one.Perhaps the afterlife is revealed to us in such a way that allows each of us to understand and comprehend the process of passing in a way that we can accept. The uniqueness of each experience may be in part due to the individual; their ability to take in the awesomeness of such an event may be reflected in their memory of the event. In any case, these incidents are presented to the reader in the hopes that they will encourage and inspire; my hope is that you will find, as I did, a common theme within these experiences which seem to reflect the powerful love of God towards humanity, towards each one of us.

This is me

Danny Wilks - 2013
This is an adventure born from watching old movies and programs of people living and travelling in the Alaskan/Canadian wilderness. It is a story of a solo quest to get to Alaska by kayak with very little experience, surviving in the wilderness along the way; it’s a story of learning to believe in yourself when some others think you’re crazy, of putting one foot in front of the other each day, and of trusting your wits to get you out of a situation if it all goes wrong. Some describe it as crazy, some say it’s a spirit quest. All I know is that I needed to do it, so I did.
