I need him more than the control that he craves. I need her more than I need my next breath. He knows me. She sees me. As much as I want to, I can’t let him in.      "How far are you willing to go to fight for the love of your life?" - Books and Beyond Fifty Shades Rachel Baker has just finished a stressful and demanding semester. When the camping trip with her roommate's buddy turns out a nightmare, she meets Peter Shaw. He's a breathtakingly handsome guy and Rachel is immediately drawn towards him, but can she trust him? Peter Shaw is recovering from a painful breakup with his cheating ex. The last thing he needs it to babysit an irresponsible college student, even when she's as beautiful and sweet as Rachel is. He's fighting his attraction for her with all his power. But everything changes, when they're both trapped together in a small cabin in the middle of the wilderness. Neither of them can deny the fire they're feeling for each other. Back in the city, more challenges wait for them. Can they finally admit their love for each other? Can Peter's crazy ex-girlfriend ruin everything? +++ Q & A with the Author Q-This is a sexy romance set in California. The couple meets on a camping and climbing trip to Yosemite National Park. Why Yosemite? Why climbing? Isn’t that a rather unusual setting? A-I wanted the setting to be something unusual, to convey adventure and freedom. For me being in the nature is just that. Romantic. Pure. Down-to-Earth. But I wanted it to also show adventure and something unusual. That’s when a friend posted photos of his last climbing trip and I was hooked. The sheer beauty of the Yosemite National Park, the Half Dome, sunsets, thermal springs got to me. The breathtaking landscapes and the exercise of climbing (and the lean, muscular, good-looking, handsome guys) would make the perfect setting for Rachel and Peter to meet. Q- What challenges doe your characters have to overcome? A_ Well, Rachel is a new adult, just coming of age. She’s the typical college student. Studying , working and trying to find her place in the world. Throughout the series she grows into an empowered and independent young woman. Ready to tackle the world. While rich and wealthy Peter has to cope with a disastrous breakup, and too much work. He needs to trust in love again. Q-What writers have influenced you? A-Of course, Nora Roberts was one of the first ones I read. She’s the queen of romance. Then there are two independent New York Times Bestseller authors I truly admire. Bella Andre and Melissa Foster. I love how they write steamy, romantic novels full of love. True love. Their heroes are alpha males – the good ones. No bad boys, but the kind every mother would want to have as son-in-law. The women are empowered, independent and sexy. The books are great examples of women's fiction and continuing series. Family sagas at their finest.

Insatiable

Lucy Lambert - 2015
or him. I am NOT like those other women! When Vaughn Ward sets his sights on a woman, she always ends up in his bed - crying out his name that night and cursing it the morning after. The billionaire playboy has an unquenchable thirst for sexual conquests. Not me, though. I am a professional. But as the youngest member of C&M Advertising firm, it's my job to get to know our most important client. To get to know exactly what he wants from us... and how I can provide it. I can resist his charms, his stares, and his flirts. I know his reputation. I won't be another notch on his bedpost. But the longer I spend around him, the more he seems determined to take me. Use me. Consume me. And the more I find out about him, the more I want him too... An excerpt: Vaughn reached, his fingers wrapping around mine. His skin was soft and warm against mine. That warmth made me swallow. I didn’t pull back. We looked out the window a little while longer before his eyes turned to me. They weren’t as clear as I’d first thought. No, there was a storm in them. A storm that threatened to consume him and then me. My mouth went dry. My lips parted slightly. He still didn’t let go of my hand. “Quinn,” he said. “Yes?” “I want you. And I know you want me, too.” “Do you?” I replied. That heat from his hand started spreading through me. I tried telling myself that I did want him, but only on a physical level. Who wouldn’t? But part of being an adult was knowing when to ignore what you wanted. I could tell myself whatever I wanted and it didn’t have any effect. This close, he was magnetic. Little electric tingles kept running across the surface of my skin, awakening all my senses. It was like my body wanted to feel every sensation it could, and to the fullest extent. The past and the future closed off, leaving only the present. The world shrank until only Ward and I occupied it. I wanted to pull my hand out of his, but I didn’t. I didn’t want him to kiss me again, but I did. I wanted that and more. I wanted all of it; I wanted all of him. I took a deep breath, but it didn’t steady me at all. “I do. You know, since we met I don’t think more than a few minutes have gone by without you in my thoughts,” he said. We still didn’t look at each other. We both seemed to know that if we let our eyes meet we wouldn’t be able to stop what happened after. I could look at his reflection safely, though, and I did. “It’s only been a few days,” I said, “You hardly know me. How can you think you want me so much?” “Some things you just know right away,” he replied. His reflected face grinned. “We shouldn’t,” I said, wondering if I was trying to convince him or myself. Maybe both. “Will you try and stop me?” Ward asked, his eyes regarding my reflection. I didn’t reply, because I didn’t know the answer... An additional excerpt from Vaughn's POV is included in the "Look Inside".
