Guy Martin: My Autobiography
Guy Martin - 2014
Guy Martin, international road-racing legend, maverick star of the Isle of Man TT, truck mechanic and TV presenter, lives on the edge, addicted to speed, thoroughly exhilarated by danger. In this book we'll get inside his head as he stares death in the face, and risks his life in search of the next high, even as he agonises over the loss of close friends in horrific accidents. We'll discover what it feels like to survive a 170mph fireball at the TT in 2010, and comeback to do it all again. He'll sweep us up in a gritty sort of glory as he slogs it out for a place on the podium, but we'll also see him struggle with the flipside of fame. We'll meet his friends and foes, his family, his teammates and bosses and we'll discover what motivates him, and where his strengths and weaknesses lie. For the first time, here is the full story in Guy's own words. From the boy who learned to prep bikes with his dad, to the spirited team mechanic, paying his way by collecting glasses, to the young racer at the start of his first race and the buzz he's been chasing ever since. This thrilling autobiography is an intense and dramatic ride.
Iron: A Motorcycle Club Romance (Southern Crows MC)
Kathryn Thomas - 2018
TEAGAN This little garage is all I have left of my dead father. And Jay Healey is about to set it on fire. He thinks he can do whatever he wants. But just because he’s a gorgeous outlaw, doesn’t mean I’m just gonna roll over and take it from him. Until he makes me do exactly that. Pretending to be my boyfriend? Forcing me to accept his “protection?” It’s driving me d*mn near crazy. Mostly because, as infuriating as he is, the biker has staked a claim in my heart. My chest throbs every time he strolls in the garage. And when he pins me against the wall and kisses me fierce… I completely come apart. JAY I’ve got a war on my hands. I’m a veteran of the motorcycle club world, and I know firsthand how ugly these things can get. Men will suffer. Blood will be spilled. And if innocent little Teagan is caught in the crossfire, she’s as good as dead. That’s why I took her to my MC’s clubhouse – for her own safety. She doesn’t like it…. Not one bit. But that’ll change soon. Because as soon as I get my hands on her curves, she’s gonna be addicted to me. One taste of my iron rod, and she’s hooked for life. But after that first touch, things start changing faster than I can handle. I go back to her again and again. Maybe I’m the one with an addiction. All I know is this: If my enemies think they can come into my house and take my woman, they’d better think again. Because I’ll kill them all to protect what’s mine.
IRON is a full-length, standalone, super steamy, bad boy motorcycle club romance novel from bestselling author KATHRYN THOMAS. This suspenseful, action-packed MC romance is intended for mature audiences, due to violence, strong language, dark themes and elements, and explicit intimate scenes. The romance between the alpha male bad boy and the fiery woman he can't resist ends with a guaranteed happily ever after (HEA) ending, has absolutely NO CHEATING, and does NOT include a cliffhanger of any kind.
Girl Least Likely To : 30 years of Fashion, Fasting and Fleet Street
Liz Jones - 2013

Nothing Liz ever did in life ever worked out. Nothing. Not one single thing.Liz grew up in Essex, the youngest of seven children. Her mother was a martyr, her dad so dashing that no other man could ever live up to his pressed and polished standards. They made her father shout, and her mother cry.Liz became an anorexic aged eleven, an illness that continues to blight her life today. She remained a virgin until her thirties, and even then found the wait wasn't really worth it; it was just one more thing to add to her to do list. She was named Columnist of the Year 2012 by the British Society of Magazine Editors, but is still too frightened to answer the phone, too filled with disgust at her own image to glance in the mirror or eat a whole avocado. She lives alone with her four rescued collies, three horses and seventeen cats. The Plant Based Runner: A Personal Guide to Running, Healthy Eating, and Discovering a New You
Jonathan Cairns - 2019
He had never exercised and had zero energy but as a way of dealing with the pain and frustration of his separation, he decided to take up running. Or as he talks about in his book The Plant Based Runner: A Personal Guide to Running, Healthy Eating, and Discovering a New You, he started to 'put one foot in front of the other'. This book is raw and real. There is nothing in it that is not tried and tested by Cairns, and it has an authentic ring about it. This is a personal story, about his struggle to see his children in the face of a relentless, anti-father bias in the judicial system. He is running to solve problems, running to find solutions as opposed to running away from trouble. He takes responsibility for everything that is his. Straight-talking and funny, Jonathan takes you by the hand and chapter by chapter helps you to put your excuses aside and find a new appreciation for your body, your health and for the power of confidence. You feel like if you follow his steps you could do a lot more with your life. There are books that you will read that tell you how to live, or how to do something that will improve your life, and if you follow the advice, as you might for a time, it may work, for a while. And there are books that will leave you changed, transported to another place in yourself and in the world you inhabit because of the power of the story that you have read.
Even if you are not a runner or a dad deprived of your kids, this is a read that has inspiration and hope.

50 Real Ghost Stories
M.J. Wayland - 2012
That is my rule of thumb. After investigating ghost experiences for nearly thirty years, I realised that the finely polished stories told by storytellers and “ghost walkers” were exactly that – polished. In polishing stories we lose the personality of the haunted and indeed the haunter itself, that’s why in my books, research papers and articles, I always maintain the original testaments and facts. The stories that I have collected for you now are rough diamonds, totally unpolished and any additions by myself are kept to a minimum and noted clearly. As I began to compile these stories I began to realise that I was actually becoming very affected by them and I am sure you will too. There is no doubt you will have your favourites once you have read the book, but mine are as follows. One of the standout stories for me, is “The Ghost with no mouth” – a series of terrifying experiences in a modern house in which the witness’s child describes the ghost as having “no mouth and wears black boots but is naughty”. The experiences were very real to the family involved, and you wonder if “Black Square” continues to haunt this dwelling.Another story “The Mystery Lady” is downright creepy, a man encounters a strange woman on a deserted train station, she mumbles to herself and refuses to get on board the last train to Portsmouth. The next day he discovers that he was actually talking to a ghost! I spare you the details so not to spoil the story, but you will certainly have a chill! In total there are fifty real experiences with ghosts and spirits included in this book and all direct from the witnesses themselves. None of them wanted their names publishing or any publicity about their experiences but all of them had the need to share, and share they have done."
The Original Wild Ones: Tales of the Boozefighters Motorcycle Club
Bill Hayes - 2005
Motorcyclists, including members of the Boozefighters club, engaged in street racing and other raucous activities. A sensationalized report of the event ran in LIFE magazine, along with frightening (albeit posed) photos of the outlaws. Was the event (later portrayed in Marlon Brando's The Wild One) as wild as reported? Or, in truth, was it even wilder? The answer is found in this book filled with first-person accounts from past and present members of the Boozefighters and others on the scene. This is gripping narrative of a now-legendary event. It's a true story that is more interesting than the caricatured outlaw legend that has grown up around the name Hollister.
Diver
Tony Groom - 2008
'Diver' is an honest, moving and sometimes hilarious account of a hair-raisingly exciting career, both in the Royal Navy and in commercial deep-sea diving-training.
ALFA PI Series
Chelle Bliss - 2016
As an added bonus, Throttle Me - Men of Inked #1 - is also included. Sinful Intent - Book #1 - Someone was after her and it was my duty to stop them. Never cross the line. That had always been my rule. But that was before Race True. The moment I saw her, I wanted her. But there was a problem. She wasn't just another pretty face--no, she was my first client at ALFA PI. My take-what-I-want attitude shouldn't include her, but how the hell can I be expected to keep my hands off? The danger that followed her had my protective instincts in overdrive. And as the clock ticked down, the choice was laid out before me: save her career or risk everything and have her in my bed. Could I put aside my wants for her needs? Or would my selfishness destroy everything in the process? Unlawful Desire - Book #2 - No matter how hard I tried to push her away, fate thrust us together again. Screw relationships. Simple worked. Feelings weren't on the line, hearts weren't able to be broken, and I could keep my life simple. My friends told me to move on and find the "one," but I wasn't ready to love again. Until I met her. A dirty-mouthed temptress with a killer body that had me questioning everything. I knew I could ruin her forever, but not without losing myself. I wouldn't do it. But Georgia Phillips was innocent, pure, and total perfection. I wouldn't be the one to strip her bare and break her heart. I swore I'd never call another woman mine, but that was before I almost lost her.
how tom holland Eclipsed his dad
Dominic Holland - 2013
Dominic Holland is this 'celebrity' dad - a professional stand-up comedian and author. He has appeared on television many times including The Royal Variety Show and Have I Got News For You. He has had his own award winning BBC Radio Four series, The Small World of Dominic Holland. A published author, journalist and writer for other famous comedians... So no slouch himself then. But his eldest son, Tom, played Billy in BILLY ELLIOT THE MUSICAL in London's West End and then was cast in the leading role of Lucas in the film, THE IMPOSSIBLE, now on general release in cinemas worldwide. As well as stand-up comedy, fortunately for this story, Dominic Holland has also taken a crack at Hollywood with his writing and compared to his son, with very contrasting results. Tom flies back and forth to LA to accept and give out awards while his dad still treads the boards and in smaller and less salubrious venues that most egos could bear. "How tom holland eclipsed his dad" is an extraordinary true story and a complete fluke. Without a drama lesson in site, let alone a stage school, how a young boy gets himself long listed for an Academy Award and gets to meet and mix with Hollywood's glitterati is an interesting tale on its own - but the story is hilarious when set against the endeavours of his dad. Written with great affection by a dad who is much more proud than he is bemused, this book will appeal to any parent who wants their kid to prevail and to any kid who casually dreams of becoming a star themself.
