The Pleasure's All Mine: Memoir of a Professional Submissive
Joan Kelly - 2006
Suddenly, Joan was being paid to do things she'd only fantasized about. Having spent several years scouring the Internet unsuccessfully for a man who would dominate her in the bedroom without getting on her nerves outside of it, Joan had nearly lost hope of satisfying her sexually submissive urges. Now, using her professional name, "Marnie," she was being paid to do only what she felt like with kinky men who didn't even expect to have any real sex in their sessions. To Joan, it almost felt like being paid to practice the art of self-centeredness---except for the part where she had to kneel and address strangers as "Master." The Pleasure's All Mine offers the reader a rare, intimate, often amusing, sometimes disturbing look into the life of a professional submissive---one whose drive for self-acceptance and respect is as relentless as her sexual need for the services she provides. Readers will experience many humorous, bizarre, frightening, and utterly entertaining events through the perceptive and insightful eyes of this writer.
Rob Neyer's Big Book of Baseball Legends: The Truth, the Lies, and Everything Else
Rob Neyer - 2008
In Rob Neyer's Big Book of Baseball Legends, Neyer breathes new life into both classic and obscure stories throughout twentieth-century baseball—stories that, while engaging on their own, also tell us fascinating things about their main characters and about the sport's incredibly rich history. With his signature style, Rob gets to the heart of every anecdote, working through the particulars with careful research drawn from a variety of primary sources. For each story, he asks: Did this really happen? Did it happen, sort of? Or was the story simply the wild invention of someone's imagination? Among the scores of legends Neyer questions and investigates... -Did an errant Bob Feller pitch really destroy the career of a National League All-Star? -Did Greg Maddux mean to give up a long blast to Jeff Bagwell? -Was Fred Lynn the clutch player he thinks he was? -Did Tommy Lasorda have a direct line to God? -Did Negro Leaguer Gene Benson really knock Indians second baseman Johnny Berardino out of baseball and into General Hospital? -Did Billy Martin really outplay Jackie Robinson every time they met? -Oh, and what about Babe Ruth's “Called Shot”? Rob checks each story, separates the truths from the myths, and places their fascinating characters into the larger historical context. Filled with insider lore and Neyer's sharp wit and insights, this is an exciting addition to a superb series and an essential read for true fans of our national pastime.

Pink Samurai: Love, Marriage & Sex in Contemporary Japan
Nicholas Bornoff - 1991
In a land where marriages can still be arranged and a woman1s place is most definitely in the home, love hotels dot the landscape and late-night television is brazenly risqué by Western standards. Censorship is perverse: no pubic hair may be shown, yet violent porno-comics featuring gang-rape and mutilation are openly read on the train. Homosexuality has a long, venerable history of tolerance, but an office worker < gay or not < will forgo promotion if he doesn1t marry. These are just some of the paradoxes explored in this provocative book. Written nearly a decade ago, but still timely, this is an eye-opening examination of Japanese love, marriage, and eroticism.

Queen Victoria: Icon Of An Era
Michael W. Simmons - 2017
But this book takes the reader on a journey that starts before her marriage, before she came to be seen as the static icon of the age that bears her name. From her isolated childhood at Kensington Palace, where her daily life was controlled by a man who plotted to one day seize power through her, Victoria emerged shortly after her 18th birthday as a fully-fledged Queen, a young woman who gloried in her newfound power and freedom. Over the next twenty years, she fell in love—twice, if the rumors are to be believed—bore nine children, and kept a daily diary which recorded her private, inward struggles: how to reconcile her role as monarch with her duties as a wife and mother, how to protect her country and her throne in an age of revolution. Ultimately, readers of this book will discover how Queen Victoria redefined the monarchy for her own age—and afterwards.

Author Interview with Aidy Award: Q - So, what makes the Curvy Love Series special? When I set out to write the Curvy Love Series I wanted to write about a BBW (Big, Beautiful Woman) who was someone I would want to read about. My top picks are usually Romance series with kickin’ curvy women who fall in love with some hot alpha males. I like any of the thousands of spicy, contemporary romance novels featuring women like me, women I can relate to. The Curvy Love books are a great way for me to show that plus-size, rubensenque, titian, BBW, whatever you call yourself, can have an erotic romance, real love, and lots of dirty fun. We need more diversity in books and especially body positivity. My curvy heroines don’t always have it all together at the beginning of the story, but you can bet on some great growth, learning to accept themselves as amazing, and fall in love with a sexy hero along the way. Q - What order should I read the books in? A - I’ve written the series so you can read the books in any order, and all the story threads will tie up nicely by the time you're finished. There are lots of cross-overs in the timelines, so it’s fun to find re-visit your favorite characters from another heroine’s point of view. If you do want to read them in order, I'd suggest the following sequence: - Curvy Diversion - Curvy Temptation - Curvy Persuasion - The Curvy Seduction Serial - Curvy Domination (coming soon) Q - Why should readers give these books a try? A - Because the Curvy Love series is fun romantic comedy (I love to write so my readers get to laugh out loud!), but it also has lots of sexy times set in a BDSM club, so it’s also really hot. Ultimately, readers who enjoy panty-melting heroes, heroines who are real women, with a romance that keeps you reading will get a kick out of this series. Q - Can readers get the whole series in one go? A – I’ll be releasing a few bundles soon if people want to save a little moolah and grab all the books in one swoop. Check out my author page here at Amazon for more details, and a full list of my available titles. Many hugs and thanks for reading! Guide to Getting It On!
Paul Joannides - 1996
It all comes down to communication and this is one book that has no problem with telling it how it is.
Grey: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian by by E L James | Summary & Analysis
aBookaDay - 2015
James, from Christian Grey’s point of view rather than Anastacia Steele’s. Grey is an erotic novel with aspects of romance that delves into a topical display of the BDSM (bondage, discipline, sadism, masochism) lifestyle. As a result of Grey only being told from Christian Grey’s point of view, the reader gets a strong sense of Grey’s past and his personal perspective via flashbacks, dreams, nightmares, and a constant internal monologue. The reader is told that Grey uses the “discipline” aspects of BDSM culture as a coping mechanism for the physical and psychological abuse he suffered as a child, between the ages of 3 and 4. Grey unintentionally shows stunted emotional growth and vents his frustrations with his subconscious self through “performative punishment” acts; he shows no emotional attachment to and of the women who agree to be his “submissives” until he meets and become infatuated with Anastacia Steele. Steele consumes his thoughts and fantasies before, during, and after their one-month, whirlwind relationship, and the novel ends when he commits to winning her back. Grey as a novel reads at an elementary school level; outside of Grey’s dreams told from the point of view of toddler-aged Grey, the novel is simplistic at best, with instances of word misuse and extremely vague description. The character development is nominal; when presented with an adult with deep psychological scars, the author has given themselves the responsibility to develop them into a realistic character – many people have abuse in their pasts and can relate to this topic, therefore, when a writer establishes a character with substantial amounts of abuse, they need to give an equally substantial amount of consideration to the treatment of the character because the potential readers who don’t identify with the character could potentially carry over the same superficial treatment of a fictional character to a real person. That being said, James does not allow any growth for Grey as a character within the novel, except to move him towards “consideration” of growth rather than “actualization” of growth. She cuts Grey off at the proverbial knees, by keeping as an attractive, rich man with a kinky sex life and a shadowy background. Would You Like To Know More? Download your copy today! The Sexual Outlaw: A Documentary
John Rechy - 1976
Using the language and techniqus of the film, Rechy deftly intercuts the despairing, joyful, and defiant confessions of a male hustler with the "chorus" of his own subversive reflections on sexual identity and sexual politics, and with stark documentary reports our society directs against homosexuals--"the only minority against whose existence there are laws."
The Real Estate Retirement Plan: An Investment and Lifestyle Solution for Canadians
Calum Ross - 2017
Many Canadians who own their home have never considered buying a second property. And nearly one-third of retirees are worried about running out of money. The Real Estate Retirement Plan shows how homeowners can use the tools already available to them — their mortgages — to access the initial capital to invest and prepare for their retirement. This is a proven, validated antidote to today’s historically low savings rates, poor current rates of return, and pressure on CPP and health care. With examples and a detailed discussion of the principles and mechanics, Calum Ross and Simon Giannini demystify real-estate investing and make an irrefutable case for borrowing to invest.
