Set at the same time as the Walter Jon Williams novel Destiny's Way, it is primarily the story of a relative of Han Solo's, Thracken Sal-Solo, who finds himself leading the collaborationist Peace Brigade. Solo's daughter Jaina Solo carries out the task of Force-melding Jedi pilots into a fighting force.

    Though the Yuuzhan Vong were victorious in their savage conquest of the planet Duro, they failed to extract sensitive information from Leia Organa Solo, who now barely clings to life after enduring the enemies' torture.
