After being captured again he was tortured by the KGB and deported to Siberia to endure forced labor.     When all Jews were ordered to appear at a gathering point, he didn’t go and persuaded others not to go either.      They had raced four hundred miles across northern France, from the beaches of Normandy to the banks of the Moselle River, in less than one month.
