    All the novellas in the Darcy and Elizabeth What If? series are separate, standalone stories. They can be read in any order.      A much better summer for Darcy prevents the worst of the misunderstandings in Hertfordshire. This results in a fast, strong friendship between Elizabeth and Darcy. While in Kent, Darcy abruptly discovers that despite, considering Elizabeth only a friend, she has fallen in love with him.

    The honorable man whose proposal she refused years before.... Elizabeth had become a governess following Mr. Bennet's death. And now she thought she had killed her employer, the Earl of Lachglass, while defending herself from his vile advances. When Elizabeth is reunited with Mr. Darcy, their love blossoms. Darcy's old passion for her quickly wakes again, and Elizabeth can clearly see Mr. Darcy's character and his kindness and goodness. But the Earl of Lachglass survived, and he wants revenge. Warning: This story has a scene of attempted sexual violence, though Elizabeth successfully defends herself.

    This slight was the first offense leading her to declare him the last man on earth she would ever marry. But what if, following the insult, they were seen in a compromising position? But this puzzling situation is not what it seems, and circumstances unfold that threaten the very stability of the Collins family—not to mention, challenging all Elizabeth thought she knew of her own heart.
