Dungeon Worlds (Reborn Online, #1)

Aurora Weiss - 2020
Where “here” was felt like an impossible nightmare. I died, but this wasn’t what I’d expected to find when they said I’d meet my maker. The afterlife is just like a video game, except I didn’t start in a noob world like everybody else. I started out on one of the most challenging dungeon worlds meant only for ancient souls who’ve been dead much longer than I have…Welcome to Epoc.I don’t have the right stats for this place, not even a little bit. I’m in complete noob gear with the standard human sword and shield. I don’t even have any crafting skills to make a decent breakfast with the high tier ingredients in this place.Dying in the afterlife is even worse than dying on Earth. Earth, you only die once, but here, you can die over and over again and each one is just as miserable as the last. There’s only one way I can survive the cycle, one way to stay sane.I need a power leveler… and fast.Dungeon Worlds is Book 1 in a new LitRPG / GameLit series “Reborn Online” filled with unique monsters, challenging crafting quests, and skipping the grind with some much needed power leveling in an endgame world that’ll make you look forward to the afterlife! Just… we recommend building up those stats up first.

Rise of the Night Stalkers

Kurtis Eckstein - 2020
But then again, I supposed I was thankful to just have another day to begin with, considering I’d apparently been a mindless monster for the last several months. The city was a mess, with many buildings destroyed by massive black towers that rose into the sky like enormous thorns. And yet, despite all this, I was about to discover that the monsters and bizarre landscape weren’t the strangest things about the apocalypse. At least, not if the visual hallucination that displayed game-like stats counted.Warning: This book contains content that may not be suitable for all audiences, including excessive profanity and some violence/gore.

Civilization: Barbarians: A 4X lit novel

Tim Underwood - 2019
It would be my job to guide them from these inauspicious beginnings to glory and greatness. Of course I signed up. Barbarians keep attacking, and they are literally cannibals, I can’t talk to anyone directly so I’m getting lonely, and I’m terrified that I’ll make a mistake, and everyone in the settlement will die horribly. But still, this is way better than any video game.

But experience points are only awarded for kills in this game, and the clock is ticking. Whoever doesn’t score within 24 hours will remain in the location forever. The game takes places in the ruins of a massive city, where the undead lurk in the central districts and the outskirts are raided by the descendants of past owners. It’s kill or be killed! Those who complete the quest will be returned to Earth, where they can rest and prepare for the next attempt. Beyond the local objective is also a global one. In the center of the city stands a temple to a fallen god, and until one of the players captures the Altar, the mission will be repeated again and again. But when all you’re holding is a spear, your allies can’t be trusted, and resurrection is nearly impossible, this isn’t much more than a delayed death sentence…For the first seven players, who become the Earth Gods, this mission is a chance to rapidly gain power and take charge of a united Pantheon. A chance to escape death and protect our world from invasion. Although there is only one altar and the Gods make others do their work. Ivan must make a choice and decide whose pawn he will become. Legion

Riker Kane - 2019
My life wasn't terrible but it wasn't amazing either. Just... average. That's how I ended up applying to the Legion Omega Defense. They're a new age military that came around about forty or so years ago to defeat the beasts in Pandora. The wars these days aren't fought with each other. Nope. We've got more serious threats to deal with. Some unknown dimension the scientists haven't quite figured out completely. 'Choose your class. Raise your weapon. Level up. Save the world.' That's what the brochure says. It's like they were targeted right at me. Some cash. A place to stay. A weapon and a chance to do my part against humanity's greatest threat. I might even make a friend or two. How can I turn it down? Joining the Legion... I have no idea what to expect. I guess I'll have to see this for myself..." NOTE: Legion is a modern-day, fantasy/sci-fi action-adventure containing simple litrpg/gamelit leveling mechanics, stats, abilities, fantasy harem & relationship elements, random battles, boss fights, and lots of dialogue. It's intended for mature readers.

Still Ain't Dead (The Ex Wife Odyssey Book 1)

J.T. Harrington - 2019
He's used to waking up with hangovers that leave most people curled around a toilet. But that all changes after one drunken night of revelry. Instead of a bathroom floor, he wakes up to find he's been dead for 500 years. And if that ain’t enough, the earth he knew is long gone. Zombies, cataclysmically evil robots, and techno-demons seem to be the least of his problems, as they all pale compared to his crazy immortal ex-wife! Disclaimer: Book has graphic violence, adult language and situations. Recommend reading is 18+ A TRUE ADVENTURER by Munch from Royal Road Rory Quinn literally crashes into a post apocalyptic world, divided between local fiefdoms full of terrible, strange, and also just ordinary people. Where most litrpg-esque characters are brainy nerdy types, Rory fits well into the archetype of the accomplished jock. Full of valuable experience in fucking women, beating up scum, and power dynamics. And of course, playing baseball. Watch him as he murderhobos his way across the former southern united states, violently not giving a shit about the lives of slavers, psychos, and loud mothed amoral narcissists and their followers. Walking into legend with a louisville slugger on his shoulder and a big dick swinging between his legs. ACTION, ADVENTURE WITH COMEDIC RELIEF by Wise_Fool from Royal Road TL:DR Why the hell didnt i read this sooner?! Honestly, I cant be bothered to spend the time on a more in-depth review, cause i wanna get back to reading this. Here's the bottom line up front: good action. dark, casual humor. enjoyable. It's written well. The first chapter was a semi-well-used plotline, but it was written well, preventing me from being bored. It was an odd feeling tbh, wanting to get to the story, but enjoying the filler and background. If you dont have a bit of a wild side to you, then you may not enjoy this as much as others, but with all things ymmv. I personally find this to be great.
