Acquainted With the Night

Tymber Dalton - 2010
I hated the Terran military. I didn’t volunteer, either. Like so many others, I was drafted as cannon fodder in the senseless Terran war against the Algonquans. Not like I had much of a future ahead of me, though, without a rich family to pave my way or even pay for me to have a wife. Now, my entire ship’s been captured. If what we’ve been told about the alien race is true, I’ll never be seen again. I hope they don’t eat me. Turns out the truth is far different than we were led to believe. The Algonquans aren’t vicious, insectoid monsters, either. We’re now their pampered pets…and they’re using us to help replenish their population to win the war. You know, maybe this isn’t the worst life after all. (MMMM, sci-fi romance, humans as aliens' pets, m-preg.) Note: This book was previously published under my Tymber Dalton pen name. It has been revised and expanded for re-release.

Hurricane

Laura Taylor - 2019
A routine inspection of a remote outpost on Titan unexpectedly turns into a murder investigation. Then a blizzard hits, trapping the five crew members in the tiny base, cut off from any contact with civilisation. And now, without access to his supply of hormonal suppressants, Azure realises he has only a couple of hours until he goes into heat. Without medical assistance, omegas in heat experience twelve hours of the worst pain imaginable. The thought of what he has to endure is terrifying, but Azure knows that being mated wouldn’t necessarily be any better. Alphas in rut are notoriously violent and aggressive, and matings invariably leave omegas with brutal injuries and emotional scars that can last a lifetime. But just when Azure thinks his situation can’t get any worse, he finds out one last, staggering piece of news. Major Tor Savan, his commanding officer, and one of the most respected men in the Space Corps, is an alpha. And once he gets a whiff of Azure’s heat pheromones, there isn’t a force in the entire galaxy that could keep them apart.

Science and Fiction

Ray Van Fox - 2014
Nearing the usual path he took into the woods, his eye was caught by a pile of golden leaves ruffling in the crisp, spring breeze. Where would autumn leaves come from at this time of year? As he crept closer to the pile Jake let out a muffled laugh, his curiosity was going to get him in trouble someday, he was sure of it. He came to an abrupt halt and his eyes widened in surprise at the attractive, naked, young man, dark hair streaked with white, shivering amongst the leaves. Tattoos covered his arm and torso, tattoos that seemed to…Shaking his head Jake looked around; maybe he was intruding in the middle of a photo shoot or movie, but saw no one. Edging closer Jake saw the young man was awake, his expression one of shock.“Are you all right? Do you need help?” The young man’s hazel-green eyes searched Jake’s face trying to focus. Not getting an answer Jake asked, “What’s your name?”Opening and closing his mouth a couple times, the young man finally answered in an odd accent, “I… don’t know.”Frowning, Jake reached into his jacket pocket and removed his phone, then draped the jacket over the young man. He should really call the police, but his instincts told him that somehow they wouldn’t be able to help and he always trusted his gut feelings. “Come on, let’s get you to my place and figure out what to do.”No, need to use the name Jake unless you want. I just needed a name for the scenario and no need to use the scene I wrote out word for word. Something similar is okay.Photo Description: A nude young man lies in a pile of gold leaves in a wooded park. His black hair is streaked with silver. A black tribal tattoo covers his right arm; stars are tattooed along his right side and back. This story was written as a part of the M/M Romance Group's "Love’s Landscapes" event.
