    An excellent girls' book with enough excitement, good repartee and a good group of characters: Larks, who has more gotten off on the wrong foot; Nora, a pretty, well-balanced senior; Anny, a frightened Austrian refugee; Lydia, a bold, clever, opinionated room-mate. Much mischief is created by "Borneo", a traditional spook who does many mean and annoying pranks, but whose attitude improves as Spring comes on. The faculty members seem particularly congenial at this Quaker school.
