Apocalyptic Witchcraft
Peter Grey - 2013
These are the core of our ritual practice. Dream, lunar and, critically, menstrual magic are explored as a path to this knowledge. The wolf, the Devil, and the Goddess of witchcraft are then encountered in a landscape that ultimately reveals the witch to her or himself. These are not separate threads, but arise from a deep mythic structure and are woven together into a single unifying vision. Alternating between polemic, poetic and ecstatic prose, an harmonious course is revealed in a sequence of elegant stratagems. The book is threaded together with a cycle of hymns to Inanna, pearls on the tapestry of night. Seemingly disparate aspects are joined into a vision which is neither afraid of blessing nor curse. This is a daring undertaking, born from both urgency and need. It offers a renewed sense of purpose and meaning for a witchcraft that has seen many of its treasured ideas about itself destroyed. An apocalyptic age demands an Apocalyptic Witchcraft, and this is a book which is offered up to revolutionise the body of the craft, a way out of the dark impasse.

Serpent Songs
Nicholaj de Mattos Frisvold - 2013
A collection of fifteen essays are introduced and curated by Nicholaj de Mattos Frisvold through whose contacts we encounter the worlds of lone practitioners and tradition holders, from both family and clan, and are allowed a rare glimpse into the workings of the more secretive proponents of the Craft.Traditional Craft is intimately bound to the spirit of the land. Serpent Songs contains the works of genuine Cornish and Basque witchcraft, the relatively unknown Swedish Trolldom, the persecuted Bogomils, and the oft misrepresented Italian Stregoneria. Members of 1734, Clan of Tubal Cain, an ex member of The Companie of the Serpent-Cross are among those who choose to share their experiences. Light is shed on such important figures as Robert Cochrane, Evan John-Jones and Andrew Chumbley amongst others, but more than illustrious ancestors, Traditional Craft is revealed as a living throng. These are the voices of those who work the art and this book details their practices, struggles and wayward journeys. Serpent Songs takes a crooked path through the landscape, from historical studies to practical acts, from lonely stone stiles set between deep hedges to the warm entrails of animals and forays into the caves and woods. These tresses are woven into an undulating nest of serpents.Serpent Songs is a wide ranging work that deals with the issues of witch blood, taboo, the other, the liminal state, fire, dream, art and need as vectors of the Craft. What emerges is not a narrow definition of what it means to engage in Traditional Craft, but a set of shared characteristics and approaches which become evident despite the cultural gulfs in place and time. This is a book of praxis, beliefs and their own definitions of the art itself rather than those applied to it by outsiders. These are the voices who for the most part operate in silence but now wish to be heard.

Overthrowing the Old Gods: Aleister Crowley and the Book of the Law
Don Webb - 2013
Michael A. Aquino, who served as High Priest of the Temple of Set from 1975 to 1996 Received by Aleister Crowley in April 1904 in Cairo, Egypt, the Book of the Law is the most provocative record of magical working in several hundred years, affecting not only organizations directly associated with Crowley such as the Ordo Templi Orientis but also modern Wicca, Chaos Magic, and the Temple of Set. Boldly defying Crowley’s warning not to comment on the Book of the Law, Ipsissimus Don Webb provides in-depth interpretation from both Black and White Magical perspectives, including commentary from Dr. Michael A. Aquino, who served as High Priest of the Temple of Set from 1975 to 1996. Webb examines each line of the Book in the light of modern psychology, Egyptology, existentialism, and competing occult systems such as the teachings of G. I. Gurdjieff and contemporary Left-Hand Path thought. Discarding the common image of Crowley formulated in a spiritually unsophisticated time when the devotee of the Left-Hand Path was dismissed as a selfish evil doer, Webb unveils a new side of Crowley based on his adoption of the Loki archetype and his aim to become a vessel of love for all humanity. In so doing, he shows how the Book of the Law is connected to both Right- and Left-Hand Paths and reveals how Crowley’s magical path of mastery over the self and Cosmos overthrew the gods of old religion, which had kept humanity asleep to dream the nightmare of history. Providing in-depth analysis of Crowley’s sources and his self-identification with the First Beast of Revelation from a profound esoteric perspective, Webb takes his views out of the Golden Dawn matrix within which he received the Book of the Law and radically recasts the Cairo Working as a text of personal sovereignty and a relevant tool for personal transformation.

The Art of Ritual Crafting
Katrina Rasbold - 2013
Focus, intention, and will are the main subjects of the book, The Art Of Ritual Crafting of the "Energy Magic / Bio Universal Energy Series." This work teaches the practitioner of Energy Magic how to increase the effective results of their craft through the thoughtful and creative use of ritual practice. There is little debate that the act of ritual for any spiritual practice connects us in with Higher Self and gives us a deeper connection to God and/or Goddess. The goal, of course, is to create a number of different impacting protocols for awakening and engaging the Higher Self through ritual. The ability to actually do that, however, is often rather limited, as is demonstrated by the onset of boredom or worse, apathy, as we participate in the rituals of others. Too often, we see books that simply give outlines of rituals to follow given the type of outcomes desired; however, we have deemed it more prudent to teach the aspiring practitioner how to create their own effective rituals by helping them to find what works best for the individual. Armed with this knowledge, the energy magic worker becomes empowered greatly by becoming the creator of the practice, not just a follower of the practice of others. The goal of The Art of Ritual Crafting is to teach the reader how to create dynamic, effective rituals that go straight to the heart of the goal by means of various support tools, behaviors, and conditions that will boost magical energy and create a stronger spiritual flow and connection. A framework of how to connect to the energy of the Divine, the power of intention, will and language, how to store and ground energies and effective release of power is the purview of this part of the Energy Magic Series. This book delves into great detail about the optimal process for creating an effective and sacred ritual for reaching up to the Divine and working to manifest your positive life goals.Anyone from a novice practitioner who has just started to explore their own personal spiritual energy to a seasoned veteran who wants to add a little spice to their practice will benefit from the information contained in this book.

The Testament of Cyprian the Mage
Jake Stratton-Kent - 2013
and punctuated by specially commissioned pen and ink illustrations by Oliver Liebeskind. Lavishly bound and printed in red and black ink throughout, this is a work of enduring importance and a resource to accompany your ongoing study. This is the final work in Stratton-Kent's acclaimed Encyclopaedia Goetica series which began with The True Grimoire, a working reconstruction of the Grimorium Verum, and was followed by the monumental two volume Geosophia: The Argo of Magic which explored the necromantic Greek origins of Goetia. The Testament of Cyprian the Mage is a fitting climax to this endeavour which has placed the author at the forefront of modern magic with a body of work that is both scholarly and aimed at practical application. All are standalone texts though benefit from being read as aspects of a single thesis: the importance of Goetia as the oldest continuous tradition of Western magic. As Stratton-Kent affirms, 'Goetic Magic ... if properly understood would regenerate Western magic and underline its immense cultural significance, on a level equal to any spiritual tradition in the world.' This understanding is clearly given in two volumes of lucid and fascinating exegesis with clear extracts from all the necessary works.. The Testament of Cyprian the Mage is an ambitious and far-seeing work, addressing two ends of the magical spectrum: the Testament of Solomon and a version of the Iberian Book of Saint Cyprian. In doing so, key aspects of magical practice are revealed. This work draws upon these texts to create a clear understanding of the practice of grimoire magic, not as a discrete or degenerate subset of ceremonial magic, but one which is integrated with folk magic and witchcraft. In particular we discover a shared dramatis personae, the infernal pact, and a common terrain of Wild Hunt and Sabbat.Within the text we encounter the Chiefs, Kings and Queens of the grimoire tradition; the magical role of the Decans and their stones and plants; lunar magic and magical animals; the gods of Time; the Sibyl and the Hygromanteia; Asmodeus and Oriens; Angelology, Theurgy, Conjunction and the Pact, the Angelic Vice-regent and thwarting Angels; Asclepius, Iamblichus and Neo-Platonism; Paracelsus and the Elemental Spirits; Necromancy, and the principles of spell work.As Jake writes, 'A primary purpose of this book is to explore the implicit mythology of grimoire spirits and the contexts from which it derives.' It does far more. This is a fundamental revisioning of magic with profound implications for the magical revival which we are all engaged in.
The Goetia of Solomon the King
Aleister Crowley - 2013
The word Goetia comes from Medieval Latin and is a derivative of the Greek word for sorcery, (γοητεία), which refers to the practice of invoking angles or demons for the purpose of doing your bidding. Crowley’s edition includes notes and his famous illustrations of the 72 “Seals,” or symbols, for each of the 72 spirits that King Solomon was able to summon and control, as well as illustrations of Solomon’s hexagram, pentagram, magic disc, vessel of brass, etc. Crowley’s curse in Greek aimed at MacGregor Mathews is included, (and an English translation of it) as well as all of the invocations, and translations into English, of the invocations in the Angelic, (or magical) tongue which are derived from a 17th-century grimoire called The Lesser Key of Solomon. This edition is unabridged but has been arranged in such a way to make easier the understanding of its contents. It has been recently re-formatted for compatibility with all (old and new) Kindle devices and a fully-functional table of contents.

Goetic Pharmakos (Guides to the Underworld)
Jake Stratton-Kent - 2013
Just as ‘goes’ is an ancient term for a magician working with spirits of the Underworld, so ‘pharmakos’ represents a magician working with herbs, alchemical processes and so forth. The types are not mutually exclusive, and accordingly there are spirits of the grimoire who work with alchemy, herbs, stones, etc. These spirits are very suitable allies for magicians combining the work of the ‘goes’ and the ‘pharmakos’. The purpose of this booklet then is to detail approaches to goetic spell-work, facilitating the further reintegration of New World and Grimoire approaches.

The Path of Initiation: Spiritual Evolution and the Restoration of the Western Mystery Tradition
J.S. Gordon - 2013
Drawing from his deep immersion in the Mystery traditions of both East and West, author J. S. Gordon investigates the initiatic path from ancient times to modern day, detailing the step-by-step process of initiation and the sequence from spiritual aspirant to the highest Adeptship. He explains the natural logic and characteristics of each stage of initiation, including the associated problems and psychological issues that need to be faced in order to move forward to the next stage. He shows how humanity is naturally inclined to spiritual evolution and the development of higher consciousness. We are part of the overall evolutionary process of Nature, a system guided by the most highly evolved Adepts and extending beyond Earth to the entire kosmos. Exploring the long history of the Mystery schools beginning with ancient Egypt, Babylonia, and India, Gordon examines the sacred metaphors and allegories of esoteric philosophy, metaphysics, occult science, and the Science of the Seven Rays as well as the Adept-inspired theosophical works of H. P. Blavatsky and A. A. Bailey. He looks at the Adept Hierarchy of the Great White Himalayan Brotherhood and considers in detail two much-discussed mysteries: The Jesus-as-Christ mystery and the Maitreya-Buddha mystery. Revealing how advancement--spiritual, scientific, and cultural--erupts out of tension, he explains how the Adepts have been increasing local and global tensions to prepare humanity for the Age of Aquarius, thereby creating the ideal preconditions for spiritual evolution and an eventual restoration of the Mysteries in our own modern era.
