    John Dee (1527–1608) resolved that worldly knowledge could no longer provide him the wisdom he desired.     The work is clearly related to the book known as 'The Secret Grimoire of Turiel,' although it is lengthier and contains much additional material.Occult scholar Frederick Hockley (1809-1885) made several manuscript copies of the original (which has since been lost) in the 1830s or 1840s.
