Beneath the Blue Sky: Preaching in the Open Air

Godfrey Holden Pike - 1888
One cannot but be moved with great inspiration while reading the lives of Whitefield and Wesley from the 18th Century. Gawin Kirkham and his band of preachers in the 19th Century, and all those that the Lord used throughout the ages. History is covered with open-air preaching, and no matter what we think of it, it will never go away.God has always used the instrument of open-air preaching in the past, and will continue to use it in the present and will close with it in the future. In this volume, contributions have been given by open-air preachers John Macgregor and Gawin Kirkham. John Macgregor, who founded the "Open-air Mission" in 1853 in London, and Gawin Kirkham, who has done much to advance this ministry as well, both were used greatly by the Lord in the 19th Century.
