Ex-addict, ex-friend, ex-boyfriend, ex-brother… and presently in denial. Welcome to Grand Lake, Colorado, where all my nightmares started. Welcome to the past. Welcome to the present. Already Gone

Kristen Proby - 2019
It’s where I grew up, got into trouble, and fell in love for the first time. Scarlett Kincaid was more than the girl next door, she was my best friend, until she decided that small town life wasn’t for her. One minute she was here, and the next she was gone. The girl I used to fish with down at the creek is now the biggest name in country music. She headlines world tours, has won four Grammy’s, and I haven’t seen her since. Until today when she sped through town in her fancy car. One look at her big brown eyes was all it took to stir up a whole slew of emotions. Emotions I’d long ago buried and sure as hell don’t have time for. It’s the aftermath that’s hard… There are two things in my life that matter. My music, and my dad. Twelve years ago, I packed a bag and chased my dream. Leaving New Hope and escaping the gossip mill was the easiest decision I ever made. I never planned to return, but my father needs me, and he always comes first. So, I did what I had to do. I cut my tour short and came home, despite having a sister who hates me, and a community that doesn’t trust me. And then there’s Tucker Andrews. When he propped an arm on the roof of my car, pulled down his sunglasses and flashed his police badge, I nearly swallowed my tongue. Gone is the lanky boy who used to throw rocks at me and pull my pigtails. Tucker is now a six-foot package of brawny, sexy man wrapped in more muscle than I have hit singles. Did I mention he’s a cop and a single dad?My goal was to help Dad, and get back to my life. But what am I supposed to when the life that used to strangle me suddenly fits like a glove, and makes me dream of things I never thought I’d have? What happens when the boy I walked away from years ago becomes one of the most important people in my life? I don’t have room in my life for a man much less love.Right? Because it’s impossible to hold onto someone who’s already gone.

Groupie

Susan Daugherty - 2016
Sure, she put some mileage between herself and her feuding parents, her miserable dating history, and the memories of a life-altering injury. However, she still feels like a former shadow of herself, hiding behind her diminished confidence and her thorough disbelief in true love. Everything changes when Lexie’s best (and only) friend drags her to a country music concert. Lexie loves country music, but she loathes the top-selling heartthrob who sold out the arena. Jack Morgan became a sensation with a string of degrading, shallow songs that she can’t stand. After suffering through an evening surrounded by the playboy celebrity’s endless sea of admirers, a startling trauma lands Jack in the hospital, and Lexie is the physical therapist assigned to the VIP treatment of the very man she despises. Jack is drawn to the one woman who appears resistant to his charms and who loves to check his ego every chance she gets, yet gives him the honesty he needs. She’s the opposite of his usual groupies. He can only continue his tour if he receives rehab on the road, and Lexie is the lone person Jack trusts for the job. Reluctantly, she agrees to take the journey on his luxury coach, joining the wild cast of characters on his crew. Yes, she was given many incentives to take the assignment, but the reason she wants to ignore is the dangerous one. Jackson Morgan is growing on her. He’s shown her facets of his personality she never fathomed, and maybe she isn’t immune to his handsome charm after all. At every turn, another challenge pushes her away from him. A woman returns from his past, along with new temptations at every concert. Jack’s manager clings to control over his artist and doesn’t like Lexie, or her growing influence. Media attention makes her want to run the other way, but she can’t escape it. Stepping onto the tour bus is the domino that starts a chain reaction in their lives and challenges them both to change. Could they learn to believe in love and happily ever after? NOTE: This is book one of a two-part series**YOUR REVIEWS ARE VERY IMPORTANT AND APPRECIATED! IF YOU ENJOYED THIS BOOK PLEASE LEAVE A REVIEW ON AMAZON AND GOODREADS.Hot Reviews for Groupie!Under the Covers Book Lovers Groupie Review – BelAhh, yessssss! This story, these loveable characters, Groupie is everything you could want in a sweet, sexy contemporary romance. I’m so excited to say this is my first FIVE star read in a LONG time and anyone who knows me knows I don’t hand out five star ratings lightly, and rarely do those five stars go to fluffy contemporary romance novels. (They just aren’t my favourite genre.) So lets get to why this country music, doctor/patient themed romance did it for me. Enter Jackson Morgan. Party animal Country superstar. Cocky playboy. At least that’s what Lexie Travis thought about the man before having to treat him in hospital. To the world, Jack Morgan was every bit the young carefree country singer with a somewhat bad boy reputation. He looked the part, played the part, but gosh was he so much more than that. Jackson himself is plenty enough reason to read this book so go, go now and pick this baby up if you love a drop dead sexy, swoon worthy sweet man with the kind of morals and values you know your mama would be proud of. Trust me, you won’t regret letting Jack Morgan into your life. If I’m being honest, the only reason I took a chance on this book was because of the blurb. I haven’t read this author’s work before but I do know Groupie will not be the last time I pick her novels up. I remember thinking “Oh no, not another rockstar book.” (I’m not a massive fan of that sub genre.) And yes I aware, Jack’s a country star, not a rockstar. But you know, samsies. But I kept reading the blurb anyway and for some reason it peaked my interest. So I signed up in the hopes of an arc and added it to my to-read list. Groupie was such a sweet, heart warming surprise that brought constant smiles to my face and had me swooning left, right and centre. I didn’t expect the story and characters to draw me in the way they did. But how I could not fall for them? They were well crafted, easy to love and as the book progressed I couldn’t help but wonder where they would end up. It’s light, sweet, the drama is kept to a minimum, the sexual tension is high. If you’re in the mood for this kind of read, I highly suggest you take a chance on Groupie. It’s FIVE stars from me.Reviewed By Maureen Dangarembizi for Readers’ FavoriteGroupie by Susan Daugherty revolves around a developing romance between Dr Lexie Travis and music sensation Jack Morgan. Lexie doesn't appreciate Jack's brand of country music much and has a low opinion of his lifestyle. When Jack has an accident on stage and hurts his leg, Lexie is brought in as his therapist. Turns out Jack Morgan isn't the uncouth womanizer she believed him to be. Their healing sessions bring them closer and Jack is forced to take a good look at his life since his stardom. For Lexie, travelling with Jack on his tour is a dream come true. Jack may just be the man to make Lexie hope again. Just one problem; she didn't believe in true love and Jack is ready to jump all in.When it comes to exploring a character's emotions, Susan Daugherty hit the nail on the head. I felt the fear, the excitement, and the love between Lexie and Jack. Both characters have been scared by the past and are scared to commit, but as they get to know each other better, their friendship turns into something more meaningful. This book is filled with "awww"-inspiring sweet moments and nail biting suspense (sometimes more than I could take). I especially loved that it still managed to convey the romantic atmosphere without the overblown sex scenes so prevalent in romance books nowadays. The book ends in a cliffhanger, but was totally worth the read. I can't wait to read the conclusion of Lexie and Jack's story in Muse. Fans of Colleen Hoover will definitely enjoy Groupie.

Wild Chase

L.A. Bressett - 2013
The effect they can have on you can happen after four seconds or four years. In Chase Taylor's case - it's both. Avery McGuire doesn't just flip on a light inside of her - he sets a blaze to everything holding her back. After only a week together, he has to leave, but he strikes a match before walking away that won't easily burn out.Four years later, Chase finds herself face to face with the boy -now rock star - who changed everything. The same one she still can't admit to falling head over heels in love with. She has no idea that her world is about to get rocked, in more ways than one. {Romance, Love Triangle, Drama}Excerpt from the Author-"Do you want to come in for a little bit?"He looked a little surprised, but nodded."As long as you say it’s ok, of course I’d like to."We went inside and I showed him around quickly, not wasting our time on a tour. When we reached my bedroom, I thought his jaw was going to drag the floor."This is your room?” he asked with an odd sternness to his voice. Watching him survey the four walls, I nodded. He turned to me, his face completely disconcerted, and pointed at the entrance. “Chase, there's no door!"I shrugged. I hadn't thought this far through when I invited him in."Privacy is for adults, I am not an adult yet," I replied in a mocking tone, trying to laugh it off. I looked up at him as he gave me a sad, almost torn look."There isn't an ounce of color in here, no door, nothing. Add bars and it might as well be a jail cell. This can't seriously be how you live every day," he spoke almost angrily.I wanted to feel defensive. How dare he act like my life is like a prison, but, the truth was, I had felt that way for so long that I couldn't argue.I felt his strong hands on either side of my face as he tilted my head up. I stared up into those stormy eyes and braced myself. He was about to wreck me again."I know we haven't known each other long, but seriously, Chase, there's so much more to you than this," he said waving his hands around my room and gritting his teeth out of anger.I don't know if it was the repressed thought of this being the last time I would see him or touch him suddenly surfacing, or the way he was already fighting for me, a girl he barely knew, but something inside of me broke. The innocent nature of my feelings towards him crumbled. My hesitation melted away as I stepped closer and with both hands I grabbed onto his shirt. The urge to touch him and kiss him completely overwhelmed me, and it must have been on his mind too because in an instant his hands were cupping my face and his lips were on mine.

Rocked (A Rock Star Romance)

M.L. Young - 2017
On my first date with Kai Jackson, the lead singer and guitarist of the Heartbreakers, I thought he was an ass. Arrogant, self-centered, and chauvinistic. I couldn't stand him. When he asked for another shot, I laughed at the idea—until I stupidly gave in. When he leaves his rock-star persona behind and shows me the real him, I find myself falling for him, and I’m scared. A former addict, he isn't exactly the type of guy you take home to your parents, and I wasn't sure I wanted to take that risk. But when you meet a guy who makes your heart skip a beat, all bets are off. That is, until a life-changing event blackens Kai, and his old vices become new realities that rip the fabric of our relationship. Shattered after visiting him on tour in Paris, I retreat to my home in Los Angeles, wishing I’d never met him. He goes to rehab, determined, convinced he'll get clean and win me back, but I'm not sure I can ever let my heart be his again. While this is an HEA no-cliffhanger romance, it features some darker themes, including addiction and drug use. This story contains alternating POVs by chapter.
