She decided to escape the misery by running away to Colorado with her best friend Ashlynn who was soon starting community college there. Once in Colorado Scarlett's life is turned upside down when she is attacked and assaulted by one of the local guys at a party. She is fearful of all of the stories she has been hearing about wolves in the area until she is attacked by someone with only two legs. Now the wolves don't seem to be so scary. Her best friend Ashlynn falls head over heels for a gentleman in the little town and he whisks them off to shield them from potential danger until Scarlett's attacker is brought to justice. Scarlett is confused by the attraction she has for another man she'd recently met. How can she feel so deeply for someone she hardly knows, especially when she is still in love with Aaron whom she can't stop thinking about. And to make things even more complicated, the new people in their lives aren't exactly people.
