The Last Outpost Of All That Is
Gekizetsu - 2014
The world is over, and it’s a Winchester’s lot in life to cope with anything – no matter what. Language, angst, humor; all the usual. NC-17 for graphic Sam/Dean. This assumes Sam was not killed at the end of season 2 and that Dean never had to make the deal. Notes follow the tale.Prompt: The world begins with the interruption of a sleep. Which is why wakefulness is the only proof of existence. And why the world is fragmented and cannot achieve fullness. And why it constantly seeks to reconstruct fullness. In vain, because the discontinuous will never pass over into the continuous. Mathematics tells us that, last outpost of all that is. -- Roberto Calasso, KaWords:59037 completeArtwork by Daunt

As a test, the Coven sends him to Mercy South, Colorado, to stop a creature that’s been mutilating cows and scaring the locals. Jude hates cows and small towns. The Coven should’ve sent a nature witch. Rob Mackenzie is the local mechanic and bear shifter. If the locals knew his secret, they’d run him out of town. He wants someone to really know him and not be afraid. With several chewed-up cows and some other weird happenings, he’s wondering if he’s no longer the strangest creature in Mercy. After meeting Mack, Jude thinks he’s found the cause of the trouble. But the trouble is only just getting started when Mack realizes he’s Jude’s fated mate. Out of the Blue
Lyra Evans - 2018
That is, he hates that he loves it. His last case was a success, but it turned his life upside down and taught him some things he wishes he could forget. The best way to move on is to close yourself off and pretend it never happened, right? So when he’s called to the beach for a body they can’t trace to any of the Three Courts with a cause of death no one can explain, Niko thinks he’s set. An impossible case to disappear into. Only then Cobalt Sincloud shows up. Appearing out of the ocean, Cobalt is gorgeous, powerful, and mysterious. He claims to know the victim and identifies himself as a Selkie. Which is weird because as far as any Fae know, Selkies aren’t real. Cobalt is exactly the kind of guy Niko knows can give him the pain he craves. He’s also determined to find the killer and gets himself assigned to the case. Now Niko’s got a politically charged murder to solve and a distracting partner who’s more than a little interested in him. To make matters worse, the investigation drives them back into Niko’s past, this case inextricably linked to his last. Questions pile up, and if Niko wants answers, he’s going to have to face down demons he thought he’d buried. And as the tension mounts, Niko starts to wonder if he should stop punishing himself and let Cobalt do it instead. The stakes are high; the unsteady peace of the Three Courts is on the line. Can Niko and Cobalt trust each other enough to solve the mystery? Or will the reality of the investigation bring more pain than even Niko can handle? Out of the Blue is a 160,000 word erotic, mystery romance in a fantasy setting. It focuses on an m/m relationship with explicit sexual scenes (and glimpses of f/f, m/f, moresomes, etc). This novel features BDSM scenes, violence, coarse language, and relationships that are not always entirely healthy. For trigger warnings, see below. It is the first novel in a series and follows the events of the Worth Series and the Three Courts series. You do not, however, need to have read those books to enjoy this one. It has a bittersweet HFN ending with a sequel to come. Trigger warnings and possible spoilers: Blood, edgeplay including knifeplay and erotic asphyxiation, discussions of sexual and physical abuse, sex trafficking, and issues of consent.

Within Reach
Kaje Harper - 2011
I submitted it in July 2011 and only later found out that no decisions would be made until February of 2012. So I decided to just try to forget I ever wrote this one. Then in February it was returned to me, because SMP had not received enough submissions to put out the anthology. I was going to just file it, but I thought, what the hell, I might as well post it here for a while. The anthology call was for stories about an encounter between a human and one of the Fair Folk on Midsummer’s Night. No HEA or HFN ending required. And that’s what I wrote. The end isn’t particularly dark or painful, but the guys don’t walk off into the sunset either. The fae are often complicated and seldom kind, to each other or to the humans they meet by moonlight.
