A Guy's Secret Guide to Fifty Shades of Grey
Tom M. Paolangeli - 2012
James, this ain’t it. Sorry about that, dang those stupid search engines, now go and try again. Second, what you’re reading here is just for guys. If you’re a woman, please stop reading right now and go back to the real book. There’s nothing here to interest you.Are they gone? Good. Okay guys, now pay attention. This is important. You may be here because your girlfriend or wife was excited about the previously mentioned book. Perhaps she even wanted you to read it. She probably said it would spice up your sex life, and what guy wouldn’t be in favor of that?Trust me - you do not want to read the book. It was written by a woman, for women. Most guys will find it dull, stupid, tiresome and waaaay too long. The ratio of tedious inner female monologue to sex scenes is about fifty shades of boring to one. However, here’s the rub: You do need to know something about it. Why? Because your odds of having hot sex with your sweetie will go up exponentially if you do. For some reason, a lot of women absolutely love this book. It gets them all hot and bothered, in a good way. You’ve probably heard that it’s been called “mommy porn,” and you’re like, “okay, porn is good, what’s not to like about that?” But guess what? There are no pictures! Seriously, you’ll see more skin in a Sears’ ad than this book. But hold on cowboy, you’re in luck. I’ve done all the hard work for you. I’ve plodded through the mind numbing boring stuff (and believe me, there’s whole lot of it.) I’ll give you the plot summary, highlight the sex scenes, and more importantly, teach you the things guys need to learn from this book. Just look for my tips throughout. You can thank me now or later. Consider it my gift to mankind, emphasis on the “man.” Ready? Set. Go!
BIG HAIR AND FLYING COWS
Dolores Wilson - 2014
To say the least. She calls Sweet Meadow, Georgia, home, where she works for her father doing auto repairs. She also drives the tow-truck, although Sweet Meadow's rather colorful denizens tend to treat Bertie more like the local, free taxi service. You know, someone has to get to a doctor's appointment or pick something up at the dry cleaners. Bertie's favorite day of the week is Friday, when she leaves the wrecker with her father for the whole weekend and joins her friends at the Dew Drop Inn for a night of dancing. Her best friend, Mary Lou, sometimes fixes her up with dubious dates, although Bertie has to remind her friend not to tease her hair too high for those occasions. Like the time when they went to Carrie Sue's open house, and a ceramic cow with angel wings hanging from a ceiling fan locked its hooves into Bertie's big hair and refused to let go. She had to wear it all night, dangling chain and all. Bertie's nearly perfect life is about to take a downhill turn, however. It starts when her landlord, Pete, currently a resident in a nearby nursing home, starts showing up at her house. In his birthday suit. A very badly wrinkled birthday suit. And then she goes to her mailbox, a rubber large mouth bass, and finds a notice from the zoning commission saying she can no longer park the wrecker in her driveway. The notice is signed by George Bigham. But when she goes to the courthouse to take care of her little problem, it is only to discover George Bigham is deceased. And Mary Lou's pregnancy test just came up positive. Can it get any worse? In a word... yes.

The Dog's Bollocks
Lynda Renham - 2013
Feisty and with a great sense of humour, she has some fabulous one liners and is a great main character for this book. Unfortunately she is partnered with a bit of a smarmy loser, Julian, who has done the dirty on her big time but not in the way you might think. Having given up on her dream to nurse in underprivileged areas abroad in order to support Julian in his new venture, and having to work in a launderette whilst trying to keep up with her studies, Harriet is frustrated and just trying to make the best of a bad situation a situation that is going to get a whole lot worse. In the meantime the very rich and pompous Hamilton Lancaster is in a fix as he is desperate to inherit his grandmothers shares but has to show himself to be responsibly settling down as soon as possible in order to do so. After all, his grandmother only has six months to live.... A chance meeting at a mutual friend s wedding leads to Harriet receiving a very interesting proposition and while she feels uncomfortable with it it could solve her increasingly mounting problems. What could go wrong? And who is the very gorgeous guy she also met at the wedding who caused her to tingle in all sorts of places?! This was an hilarious read. Harriet s character is brilliant and she had me in stitches. She is very much your normal average girl thrust into a ridiculous situation and trying to muddle her way through it. Just when you think things can t get any worse they do. Initially I felt sorry for her as she is seemingly blinded by her love for Julian but thankfully as events transpire she comes to realise that what she thought was love, really isn t at all. More a relationship of convenience and mostly convenient for Julian. There is a delightful selection of characters from the faithful and all over the place best friend Fi and her stuttering boyfriend Alistair, who is the butt of many a joke, to the bumbling wannabe East End gangsters and the very upper class family to which Hamilton belongs and who are all hiding secrets of their own. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. A carefully written story with many intricacies woven in and yet told in such a witty and relaxed style that as the reader I was pulled in and kept there wanting to keep turning the page to find out what was going to happen next. Verdict: I was already a fan of Lynda Renham having read and enjoyed Pink Wellies and Flat Caps , Wedding Cake to Turin and Coconuts and Wonderbras . Her latest release therefore, The Valentines Present has firmly established her as one of my favorite authors. --BigBookLittleBook.comProduct DescriptionOn arriving home after a friend’s posh wedding, launderette worker Harriet finds her life irrevocably changed as she discovers her flat ransacked and her boyfriend missing. In a matter of hours she is harassed by East End gangsters and upper crust aristocrats. Accepting an offer she can’t refuse, Harriet, against her better judgement becomes the fiancée of the wealthy Hamilton Lancaster, with dire consequences. What she had not bargained on was meeting Doctor Brice Edmunds. The Dog’s Bollocks is Lynda Renham’s funniest novel so far. A cocktail of misunderstandings, three unlikely gangsters, a monkey and a demented cat make this novel a hysterical read. Follow Harriet’s adventure where every attempt to get out of trouble puts her deeper in it. THE DOG'S BOLLOCKS WAS PREVIOUSLY NAMED 'THE VALENTINE PRESENT AND OTHER DIABOLICAL LIBERTIES'.
Beautifully Toxic (Toxic Love #1)
L.M. Roberts - 2016
I was good to go in life. A job, house, car, and a great family standing behind me. However, my life up until this point could only be described as one thing. Toxic. Yes, my childhood was great. I have the best parents a girl could ask for and the greatest friends that would do almost anything for me. However, that’s not the toxic part. That part of my life began when I was sixteen years old. When Alex Pierce came to live next door in a small one-bedroom house. Just seeing all his muscled up sexiness had me in fits each time I saw him. After having our one night of fun where he took my virginity, he moved away. I thought I would never see him again, and it broke me. However, I should've known that all things are not that simple. Of course, it was fourteen years down the road when it happened; in the tattoo parlor (Get Inked) that I work at of all places. From the moment, his hazel eyes met mine I knew I was in trouble. I remembered him. The way his muscles bounced as he ran up the street late at night. The thin layer of sweat that always, always coated his hot-as-f#@k body, and the feel of his skin underneath my fingers as he took me for the first and only time. He is a walking wet dream. One that up until now had disappeared. Now I find myself between a rock and a hard place. The rock being our son and the hard place being him… What the hell am I going to do?
