Feels Like Magic: A spellbinding wizard school book for kids and adults

Paul Johnson-Jovanovic - 2017
Alfie Trotter is no ordinary boy. He can do things other children can’t. He can turn the telly over just by thinking it. He can make lights flicker on and off when he gets angry. He can make objects disappear, never to be seen again. He has no idea why he’s able to do such things. Then, one day, a boy from Alfie’s school notices him doing something amazing (jumping a ridiculous distance on his bike). He tells Alfie that he’s a wizard. Before long, Alfie finds himself enrolling at the Pendred Academy of Magic. Whist there, he learns of a plot by an evil wizard to steal a powerful wand, which is being stored in a safe at the academy. He also finds out that the academy grounds serve as a portal: a gateway to another world. And that’s when the real adventure begins … - books similar to Harry Potter - books like Harry Potter

Catherine Vale - 2016

Becca Donaldson is a good-girl who has followed the rules her entire life. Never trust strangers, if you have nothing nice to say - don't say anything at all, and of course, never mix business with pleasure. Unfortunately for her, she's about to come face to face with a man who is intent on upsetting her simple, organized life, and forcing her to break every one of those rules. And this handsome alpha knows exactly how to make an otherwise good-girl behave very, very badly. She doesn't stand a chance. Note To Readers: This is a scorching hot erotic romance story with intense sex scenes that will make you squirm in your seat. They will never hunger; they will never sleep. They will walk amongst us unseen. Invisible to all but those born to see. And each generation of five that sees shall endure more than the last. The Sheikh’s Convenient Bride

Leslie North - 2019
But she’s shocked when her old friend, Sheikh Rashid, whom she hasn’t seen in years, begs her not to go through with it. Even more surprising? Rashid has a proposal. Literally. Nora should marry him instead. She had a secret crush on Rashid when they were younger, so the offer is awfully enticing. But Rashid is the crown prince of Omirabad—how could she possibly fit in with his royal family? And will she be able to follow her calling for midwifery the way she wants—needs—to? Worse, Rashid’s proposal feels more like a business contract than a marriage proposal. Until they kiss, that is. Rashid never had any illusion that his marriage would be one of passion. As a member of the royal family, he’s expected to marry before thirty and doesn’t have time to find a woman he actually loves. Until he hears of Nora’s predicament… He’d wanted to be more than friends when they were younger, but they’d never done more than exchange looks across a study table. Unfortunately, even with his proposal, he’s still only a friend to her. Their marriage of convenience, though, lasts about two hours before unraveling into a state of wedded bliss—at least for Rashid. What he doesn’t realize is how much Nora misses her midwifery work, or how very unhappy she’s become trapped in the palace. But the wife of a sheikh has no business working with his country’s poor or being reckless about her safety. As the two slowly grow closer, they must reconcile Nora’s calling with Rashid’s responsibilities to his country. And discover if this marriage of theirs is real or just a terrible mistake. This novel contains sexual content.

Office Wars: The Mailroom Clerk

James G. Patton - 2017
He sleeps in a real bed and eats real food and only jumps into Neuroma to work. All he wanted was to log in, work and log out and live in general obscurity. Getting the attention of a CEO, meeting a stranger in real life, and forced to play in a secret game of corporations were not penciled into his calendar. While that was bad, he started to question whether Odditek was still in control, or had their complacency created the noose tightening around their neck. Bran was not yet aware of the choice before him. He could no longer stand back and watch, and he had to pick a side and fight before he lost the ability to choose. Would he recognize the inevitable in time? Was it possible to make a ‘correct’ choice, or had the lines blurred so much that hero and villain were indistinguishable? This novel is part of an Odditek series and is a LitRPG novel. I realize it’s the first Odditek series, but more are coming. This series started as a companion series to a book called Lantern Online. I wanted a way to build up the world as it now exists, and to explain what Odditek is. Neuroma and Nerves are mentioned in Lantern Online, and I felt all that information was taking away from my story and is mostly not relevant, but good to know information. I took a lot of it out and added it to this series. Anyway, out of that came Office Wars. I hope it's different than most LitRPG you will read, and brings another dimension to the genre. Explicit language! I will not lie, there is a satirical nature to this story, and a lot of the language and scenarios are morally questionable on purpose. In this story and I use a lot of curse words and controversial commentary. Just look on Facebook or any half a dozen social media sites, and you will see similar language, conversations, and other nonsense. If we all moved into a digital world, this is how I view that world.

Blood Gifts

Becca Andre - 2016
Born into a necromancer family, he and his twin brother Lex exhibited uncommon magical potential at an early age that led their father to expect great things—from them both. That is until Lex’s blood gift fails to manifest. Or so everyone believes. For the past five years, Ian has been keeping a secret. A secret that—if it got out—would see his brother shunned, or worse. Lex does have a blood gift, but not every gift is a blessing, and not every recipient can manage the talent in his blood. As Lex’s sanity begins to slip, Ian knows the responsibility to raise his family’s fortunes is on his shoulders, and his alone. When he is offered an apprenticeship with one of the most influential men in the necromancer community, Lex convinces Ian that the connection would offer their family even more if Ian were to marry his elderly mentor’s “spinster” niece. Ian’s plan takes an unexpected turn when he discovers that Isabelle is not a spinster. She’s a young, beautiful, intelligent woman who, unfortunately, wants nothing to do with him. Now Ian must find a way to win her over before Lex attempts to elevate their family, his way. BONUS – Included in this ebook is the short story, Lords of the Dead (Total word count for both the novella and the short story is over 52,000 words.)
