Northridge Shifters: The Complete Series
Dee Bridgnorth - 2019
A town that bears their name. A town full of mortals unaware that the five handsome, popular Northridge boys are in fact a pack of wolf shifters born around the time the town was founded. The entire town isn’t ignorant of their true nature, however. The Moon family knows all too well about the supernatural creatures on the mountain—for they’re secretly the Crescent Moon Coven, witches locked for centuries in battle with the shifters for control of the mountain and the treasure the pack guards. When High Priestess Scarlett starts having extremely vivid dreams of the gorgeous Noah—dreams he shares and remembers upon waking—it becomes clear that lifelong mortal enemies are in fact fated mates meant to spend their lives as one. With bloodthirsty wolves on one side and powerful witches on the other, how can the two of them ever hope to be together? And just why are they supposed to hate each other, anyway? Book 2 Ethan Northridge has a chip on his shoulder. Who wouldn’t after watching their parents being murdered by witches—the same witches his pack now has to work with to uncover the mysterious beginnings of their centuries-old feud? When he discovers history student Juliet while doing a little digging at the library, he is instantly drawn to her beauty and intellect, strongly enough that he suspects she’s his fated mate. Juliet is drawn to him, too, but not just because he’s gorgeous and charming. She can’t shake the feeling she’s seen him before—and she has, in a picture taken seventy years ago. Book 3 Bennett Northridge isn’t exactly a fan of playing nice with the Crescent Moon Coven, his pack’s eternal enemies. But now that his Alpha has mated with the coven’s High Priestess, it doesn’t seem there’s much he can do but smile and go along with it. Lorelei Moon just returned from a trip to Europe to visit her coven’s distant relatives. And what did she return to find? Oh, nothing—just the entire world turned upside down. Her sister is now mated with the Northridge Alpha, her family’s mortal enemy. How is this possible? And why didn’t anybody tell her about it? Book 4 Wolf shifter Sebastian Northridge was only looking for a night of fun in the town his family founded decades earlier. Instead, he finds a girl being brutalized in a dark alley—and her attacker’s scent isn’t that of a mortal. He gets away, leaving Sebastian with a wounded girl who doesn’t know her own name but has a tattoo of a rose on her ankle. Rose doesn’t really have amnesia, though she wishes she did. Anything would be better than remembering the horror she witnessed before fleeing the pack of shifters she innocently hooked up with months ago. Shifters she soon learned took pleasure in savaging mortals, who liked drawing the attention of law enforcement. To them, murder was a game—and the pack leader, Raphael, was the deadliest of all. Book 5 When Desmond Northridge isn’t dreaming of the blood-soaked destruction of his entire family of wolf shifters, he’s dreaming of a beautiful, platinum-haired girl who tells him to go to the Sphinx. It can’t be a coincidence that Landry, the only member of his pack to ever cut ties and live entirely alone, fled to the seclusion of Sphinx Mountain years earlier. Nor can it be a coincidence that, while on his way to the mountain, he meets a girl who looks just like the girl from his dreams.
SAS Bravo Three Zero: The Explosive Untold Story
Damien Lewis - 2021
Honesty, integrity and real experience that puts you in the thick of the action.' Billy BillinghamThere were three patrols that fateful January 1991 morning: Bravo One Zero, Bravo Two Zero and Bravo Three Zero. It was the opening hours of the Gulf War and the SAS were flown deep behind enemy lines to hunt down Saddam's Scud missiles, the use of which threatened a Third World War.The men of Bravo One Zero stepped off the chopper, took one look at the flat desert devoid of any cover and decided no way were they deploying into all of that. But Andy NcNab's famed Bravo Two Zero patrol did deploy, with fatal results - all bar one being captured or killed. And then there was Bravo Three Zero. These men were different. Thought differently. Acted differently. Treating as gospel the SAS's saying 'any fool can be uncomfortable', they deployed with vehicles, and while there was nowhere to hide they could make a dash for the border if desperate.Even as warnings came in that McNab's patrol was on the run, Bravo Three Zero remained undetected - the furthest Coalition forces behind Iraqi lines. Slipping through enemy positions, a string of targets were taken out. But with the desert turning bitter and snow starting to fall, they were forced to fight a running battle against the elements as much as the enemy.Though overshadowed by the fate of Bravo Two Zero, the achievements of this highly-decorated patrol are the stuff of elite forces legend. Now, for the first time, SAS veteran Des Powell reveals their story in gritty, blow-by-blow detail. Written with acclaimed military author Damien Lewis, this is a tale of edge-of-the seat daring deep inside enemy lands. Brutal, savage, unrelenting - prepare to be blown away, in a tale that proves utterly the SAS motto - who dares wins.

The D-Day Deception (Kindle Single)
Alex Gerlis - 2014
Although it is usually seen as an unqualified success, the Battle for Normandy was actually a much more closely fought affair. In The D-Day Deception the author and journalist Alex Gerlis explores whether it would have been won at all without the Allied deception operation. It was not until the 1970s that details began to emerge the Allies’ top secret and audacious deception plan. Operation Fortitude succeeded in confusing the Germans about where the Allies were going to land: would it be Normandy, or the Pas de Calais? The D-Day Deception looks at the part the deception played in the eventual Allied victory and asks to what extent it may have been helped by those in the German High Command and intelligence organizations who by 1944 wanted to see a swift end to the war. Alex Gerlis was born in Grimsby, Lincolnshire and now lives with his family in West London. He was a BBC journalist for over 25 years, leaving in 2011 to concentrate on his writing. He is the author of The Best of Our Spies, a highly acclaimed espionage thriller based on D-Day and especially the deception operation that played a big part in its success. The Best of Our Spies was published in December 2012, since when it has featured prominently in the Amazon Kindle Spy best-selling lists and has over 180 Amazon reviews.

The B-58 Blunder: How the U.S. Abandoned its Best Strategic Bomber
George Holt Jr. - 2015
This work is a case study on how the B-58 supersonic bomber came to a premature death in the U.S. military, largely because of infighting among military and civilian leaders, who failed to understand the value of this fantastic airplane. It was a technological marvel for its time and the very best pilots and navigators were chosen to fly this unique aircraft. At its maximum speed of 2.2 Mach (1,452 mph) it was 2½ times faster than the muzzle velocity of a .45 caliber bullet. It could fly faster and out turn must fighters of its day and was also capable of flying close to tree top level just below the speed of sound. It was nearly undetectable by enemy radars due to its speed and low radar cross section and was better at flying through heavy turbulence due to its solid delta wing design. It had a highly accurate navigation and bombing system. It had a capsule ejection system for the safety of the aircrew and was capable of getting airborne in only half the time required by other bombers. Told for the first time, this is the inside story that dispels the unproven myths surrounding the demise of the B-58 and why this magnificent airplane should have been saved. Its loss from the nuclear armory was a severe blow to our “Cold War” deterrence strength. The B-58 was a bomber that set the standard for fear in the heart of an enemy. Its loss was a strategic mistake. The author provides lessons learned and recommendations for military and civilian leaders, going forward, to hopefully prevent future blunders—like what happened to the B-58.
