Lisa Aurello - 2018
Am I a killer? That is the question haunting 25-year-old Jane Jensen. When she wakes up in the hospital after a devastating auto accident, she finds that her memory since ninth grade of high school has been wiped clean. As she heals, she begins to recover a memory here and there, and piece by piece, she struggles to stitch it all together to reclaim her identity. Regaining much of her lost memory, however, is proving stubbornly elusive. Jane is aware that she has gone from bullied, overweight schoolgirl to successful corporate wonk in the last several years. But when the wife of her teenage obsession gets killed in a professional hit, Jane makes yet another transition—to that of murder suspect. It’s a situation that would be unbearable for anyone, but it’s infinitely worse for Jane—she can’t defend herself from the awful accusation for one major reason: Jane has no idea if she’s innocent or guilty. The Girl Next Door is a psychological whodunit that you won't want to miss.

Florence Osmund - 2018

As she struggles to find the strength to mend her shattered marriage, she must also cope with her obscure health issues, her daughter’s precarious behavior, a disingenuous neighbor, and an unpredictable mother-in-law. Who in her life is a friend and who is more of a foe is not always apparent, and it’s up to Margaret to figure it all out.

Southern Bound
Stuart Jaffe - 2012
One in which a simple research job can turn deadly.
A Child for the Devil
Conrad Jones - 2013
There's an odd shift of perspective that somewhat breaks the fourth wall and this may upset the suspension of disbelief for some readers. It's a unique plot mechanic though and although it wasn't entirely necessary it didn't disrupt the actual story. After the initial and shocking chapter, the story settles down and slowly unfolds as secrets spill. There is potential to create a larger story, yet Jones keeps it tightly focused and grounded because of it. It also keeps its cards very close to its chest in regards to exactly which genre it falls in to, so read with an open mind and enjoy the misdirection. A great read which thrills, captivates and shocks in equal measure. When an author is asked to help the police with the investigation into a double murder by identifying occult symbols, which had been carved into the victims, he is plunged into nightmare and forced to go on the run. Hunted by law and a powerful cult, he has to stay one step ahead to survive.
