    The arc of their courtship, marriage, and the starting of a family serves as the foundation for a turbulent series of events. The handsome but conniving Mr. Wickham seeks to even an old score with his former friend Darcy. False accusations challenge Elizabeth’s love for her new husband, and the novel careens to a violent climax that is the result of society gossip and damaged reputations. This attention to the consequences of the contemporary mores of the day in the lives of these characters represents a fresh take on this time-honored tale.

    Wickham and Mrs. Younge. Mr. Darcy, shocked to have his sister’s errors known to strangers, fails to convey any gratitude, and Elizabeth is left with a poor impression of him. Through letters to Georgiana, however, she learns to view him in a different light. His later appearance in Meryton comes as a pleasant surprise, and she gets to know him better when he stays at Netherfield. They become close, but can she believe that he really loves her and is not swayed by his sister’s feelings? And what will happen when Mr. Wickham reappears and threatens her dear friend’s reputation and her own happiness?

    Darcy is determined to find a wife he can love and respect. He is fascinated by the lively Miss Elizabeth Bennet, but is determined to forget her due to her low connections. Until an act of jealously puts her life at risk. Faced with the bleak reality of living without her forever, Mr. Darcy must examine what he really wants.     As events unfold, Jane first meets Mr. Wickham, while Lizzy encounters Mr. Bingley. Introductions to new acquaintances can lead to attachments that become complicated.
