Phaedra Weldon - 2015
Perhaps, all three. Come to New Orleans where the Witches rule and the weird just keeps getting weirder. This is an omnibus of the first three books of The Eldritch Files, together in one convenient volume. Book I - Elemental Arcane Samantha Hawthorne lives a rather curious life in New Orleans running a magic and herb shop. As an Elemental Witch in the Big Easy and owner of a wolf Familiar as well as the head of a former Faerie Queen, curious is as quiet as it gets for Sam. Until children start turning into blood-thirsty Changelings and attack their parents. When one of these children shows up in front of her shop, Sam and her friends are determined to find out where they’re coming from and where the exchanged children are being kept and put a stop to it. But will they succeed when they find themselves pitted against ninja ghouls, one of the oldest and darkest enemies of the mortal world, and a secret from Sam’s childhood that could unravel her magic? Book II - Elemental Shadows How do we tell the good from the bad when they look the same? Elemental Witch and Magic Shop owner, Samantha Hawthorne, faces her future with the knowledge she was raised, taught, and groomed by the very evil responsible for the disappearance of her mother. Threads of Arcane Magic linger alongside the guilt Samantha endures for killing an innocent in her failed pursuit for revenge. Now Clerics, the Witch’s Judiciary Branch, appear and request her aid in proving the self-appointed Witch Queen of New Orleans possesses the rumored Malleus Maleficarum, The Witch’s Hammer. They believe her command of the book’s Arcane power is responsible for the death of three Witch Elders. But something else is rising in the city as reports of ghost sightings and evil shadows increase. Faced with a lingering fear her own use of Arcane Magic has tainted her in some way, mounting pressure with the threat of a warlock from the Clerics, and suspicion that the evil that escaped her is still influencing her decisions, Samantha calls upon her friends to weave their unique magic together to stop the rampage of Elemental Shadows. Book III - Elemental Moon Adjusting to the news her wolf is more than just a Familiar while lobbying the Witch's Parliament to remove her recent warlocking, Samantha Hawthorne is approached by an Alpha Werewolf. Two of his pack are missing and he asks Sam to help find them. Before she can answer, the Alpha marks her with a bite in order to guarantee her assistance, and to declare her his mate should she fail. Now it's a race against the Alpha’s venom to find the missing pack members while battling Ceremonial Magicians, revenge-seeking Clerics and Sam’s Arcane power that has suddenly acquired a voice of its own! My Peculiar Road Trip
Renee George - 2017
All I’d wanted was a girls’ weekend away from home, a sort of double bachelorette party for two of my friends who were both getting married soon. No guys, no kids, no restaurant. But right now, as I cataloged the bumps and bruises, I only knew two things for certain: First, we were no longer in Reno, and second, Hell had a new name — Assjacket.****When human psychic Sunny Trimmel and her three best friends decide to go on a weekend getaway, they get away all right — into an alternate reality where cats talk, her Shifter friends are stuck in their animal forms, and they’re dumped into a rural hell known as Assjacket, West Virginia. Thanks to a vengeful witch’s magic gone wrong, the girls are sucked into one of the most peculiar adventures they’ve ever had. People and landmarks are disappearing all over town. Sunny will have to rely on her faulty psychic visions, her friends, and the crazy townsfolk of Assjacket, West Virginia to solve the mystery — or they might never find their way home.Suck it, Dorothy. Tornadoes have nothing on this twister of a tale.Author Note: This is a Magic & Mayhem/Peculiar Mystery crossover. It can be read as a stand alone, and it does not effect the Peculiar Mysteries world timeline.
Lunch Date
Rachel Caine - 2010
Some days all of Claire’s house mates were all in, most days nobody was; some days there was food in the fridge. Most days, not. Claire had made a fine art out of scrounging up crackers and cans of soup. Her favorite was cream of tomato. Yum. Follow the link to read full short.I rarely wrote stories from Claire’s point of view, mainly because she’s the main character in the books, so it seemed redundant to have her take the lead in the shorts, too. But I did enjoy it from time to time, like in this short story (free on the website) that just gives us a taste of the romance building between Claire and Shane. This is set in that late-romance period somewhere around Feast of Fools when things are hot … but not yet reaching the boil that they would in Carpe Corpus. One of Shane’s many terrible jobs is featured, which is always fun for me. Poor Shane. Poor bosses.

Elliott James - 2017
Ex knight. Current monster hunter.
A descendant from a long line of monster hunters, John Charming isn't really in the business of saving monsters from humans, but Samuel Blanco is a monster who isn't so...monstrous. Unfortunately, the road to a safe haven for Samuel is a treacherous path through ancient Chinese immortals, a commune where the supernatural do what comes supernaturally, a custody battle over a very special child, and a cult of half elves who are badly overcompensating for only being half elf. Forget happily ever after; it's going to take all of John Charming's brains, skill, and luck just to make it through this Midsummer nightmare.
