Cloud is a fantasy-romance film based on the 2004 Ben Sherwood novel, The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud. The film is directed by Burr Steers and stars Zac Efron and Amanda Crew. The story is of Charlie St. Cloud's choice between keeping a promise he made to his brother, who died in a car accident, or going after the girl he loves. In the beginning, Charlie and his brother, Sam, compete in a sailing competition and take 1st place. Charlie graduates high school with a Sailing Scholarship to Stanford University. He and Sam make a promise that they will play baseball together everyday until he goes to Stanford. Charlie is supposed to meet his friends for a party before they left for basic training, but he got put on Sam duty. He tries to sneak out, but Sam catches him. He then makes Charlie take him to his friend's house.
