Following in the wake of previous refugees, they encounter a land picked clean of resources, with embattled settlements hostile to strangers and gangs dominating the areas in between. Ghost Story
J.G. Jerome - 2020
My name is Will. Apparently, I’m a necromancer. You would think that I might be a little bit more certain about something like that. Magical practitioners apparently go through a lot of training in an apprenticeship. Again with the apparently. In this case ‘apparently’ is completely appropriate because I didn’t do any of that. I was finally ready to renovate my house, so I was in a pinch for an apartment. I ended up in one that had a bunch of weird reviews. I did say I was in a pinch. It turned out that the apartment had a ghost. I sort of ...uh… well, maybe you should take a seat. I have quite a story to tell. I should warn you first - since my divorce, my social life has been rather...unconventional. By that I mean, I have more than one lady in my life. I have a friend that is a madame. I keep getting chased by zombies. One of my girlfriends likes to be tied up. My story is a slice of life, so I’m afraid you’re going to get a fairly significant amount of detail on my sex life while I struggle to get my brain wrapped around what it means to be a necromancer. If you’re likely to be offended by descriptions of sex, harem-like relationships, prostitution, the IT business, genatalia, project management, showering, domestic violence, cooking, going to the bathroom, women trash-talking each other, and probably about 150 things that I’ve become inured to… ...go have a good life somewhere else. If you’re not worried about any of that, then pull up a chair.
Tricked: A Halloween Love Story
Kyeate - 2018
Starting over for her is the only thing on her mind to escape her pain. Halo steps out on a whim and moves into an old renovated home that she purchased online. Just because you tear something down and rebuild doesn’t mean you take away all that was hidden there, to begin with. The day of her move in Halo meets Hallen Tricks and he offers a helping hand as a neighborly gesture. Hallen has a bad boy past and is well known in the city but due to his sudden interest in Halo, he keeps things under wraps. As Halo gets settled strange things start to happen around the house. Halo confides in her neighbors and discovers her home was a scene of a brutal murder. Halo starts to dig for information on her home and what she uncovers leaves her speechless. Have you ever loved so deeply it changed you? Have you ever loved so deeply it tricked you? Have you ever loved so deeply it even made you delusional? Halo goes on a wild ride with Tricks and show him the true definition of ride or die.

The Steel Hounds
Vladimir Vasilenko - 2019
While the political landscape for this new world is yet to form, intrigues, conspiracy, daring raids, and sabotage are the main weapons of the Hounds, and his evaluation has just begun. To complete it successfully and become a full-fledged member of the clan, Stan will have to adapt to working side-by-side with the most unique people with shady backgrounds — even if he is not a team player by nature and has already failed at the very beginning by choosing the least suitable class for teamwork: Battle Monk. Stan is rebellious, free-spirited, and daring. He risks his life every day just to avoid getting bored of the daily grind. Normally, an expelled student has no hope of entering the virtual world of Artar, an expensive online VR project, but when a suspicious organization offers to pay all expenses to let Stan in for a special purpose, Mongoose gets his chance to become one of the select few. However, to successfully complete his trial, Stan will have to face his main enemy — himself, while finding peace and mastering all five styles of the Battle Monks of Artar. *** The Steel Hounds is the first book of the highly popular Russian LitRPG series The Chronicles of Artar by Vladimir Vasilenko. The brightest representative of a new wave of gamelit writers, Vladimir has created the story of Mongoose, a reckless teenager kicked out of college, who has to struggle with following strict discipline and finding inner harmony while traversing the difficult path of a Battle Monk.
