Brace for the Arrival.
Paramedic Maya Talbot knows her unhinged, ex-husband is gunning for custody of their children. When she drops off Aiden and Laura at Grandma's for a weekend visit, Maya assumes they'll be safe. However, nothing could have prepared her for the chaos created when a strange obelisk rises from the ground and generates an impenetrable dome over the city. Riots, looting, and violence run rampant. The situation in Nashville deteriorates—and then they arrive, thrusting Maya into a desperate race to escape the dome and save her children from the dangers on the ground—and from above. When darkness falls, the intergalactic visitors manifest our worst fears and threaten the future of humankind. Arrival is the new post-apocalyptic thriller from bestselling authors, J. The Collapse
E.S. Richards - 2019
How prepared are you? An enormous coronal mass ejection engulfs the world, destroying electrical grids and causing secondary fires to break out in every major city. Millions die in the first few hours, and even those who are most prepared are caught unawares. Trapped in the firestorm raging across Chicago, Leonard will stop at nothing to find his family while his wife and son struggle to stay alive in the chaos. When a CME that dwarfs the Carrington Event engulfs the world, Len - a businessman with next to zero survival training and experience - sets off to find his wife and child. Emerging out of the heart of Chicago, he will face dangers of all types and experience both the heights and depths of humanity. His survival depends solely on his ability to learn on the fly in this twisted new hellscape of a world. From the #1 best-selling post-apocalyptic author Mike Kraus and author E.S. Richards comes a fresh new take on the EMP/CME story. With characters that are learning how to survive as they go - and finding some unlikely teachers along the way - they represent the true "everyday person" who isn't a hardcore prepper or survivalist, something unique and exciting in this genre. Solar Crash is a 6-part series that will be published monthly.
Victoria: A Novel of 4th Generation War
Thomas Hobbes - 2014
But upon his return to his native Maine, he discovers that even in the countryside, there is no escaping the political correctness that has spread throughout the United States of America. And when what begins as a small effort by some former Marines to help fellow Christians in Boston free themselves from the plague of crime in their neighborhoods turns into a larger resistance movement, Captain Rumford unexpectedly finds himself leading his fellow revolutionaries into combat against an ideological enemy that takes many different forms.Victoria: A Novel of 4th Generation War is a vision of an American restoration. For some it will be seen as a poignant dream, for others, a horrific nightmare. But Victoria is more than a conventional novel and involves considerably more than mere entertainment. In much the same way Atlas Shrugged was the dramatization of a particular philosophical perspective, Victoria is the dramatization of a new form of modern war that is taking shape as the state gradually loses its four-century monopoly on violence. It is a book that informs, even teaches, through example. And sometimes, the lessons are very harsh indeed.

But the question on all their minds is: will the group’s combined skills and knowledge prove to be enough to survive?***** REVIEW - 5.0 out of 5 stars *****Grabs you from the first page. This book literally started off with a "bang". As I have said in other reviews I am always skeptical of new post-apocalyptic fiction. I was pleasantly surprised and entertained thought out the book. I know this sounds a bit silly, but I really like that they had characters in the book that weren't young and fit and of military origin. Since I am over 50 years old, I like it when writers use our experience and knowledge to educate the young. If an "event" were to happen, a large number of the population is over 50. Characters were multi dimensional and had flaws, a plus for the readers. Scenario was realistic. Living in hot and dry California, I swear I could feel the hot, dusty weather leap off the pages. I was very entertained and it kept my interest to the point that I finished it in 2 days. I look forward to the next installment.Special thanks to our tireless beta readers, copy editor, blocker, graphic designer and family, without whom this work would have suffered.
